I hope the Swiss get this vote right. Ban the minaret now, Islam later!

There is an important vote taking
place today in Switzerland. They
are voting on whether to ban the
one of Islam's symbols of oppression,
the minaret. Here is to hoping this
passes by a large majority. The next
step would be to ban Islam altogether.
It is common when Muslims build mosques
and minarets, they are to tower over any
and all nearby buildings or other houses
of worship.

Would YOU want this this minaret right
outisde your window?

A poster in favor of the minaret ban.

Swiss voters do not be conned. Vote to ban the minaret today

Today the decision to ban the construction of minarets is before the Swiss people. Of course there are massive guilt ridden well funded campaigns claiming that to ban the minaret is racist.

Lets be clear and rational here please just for a moment then we can all go back to being creatures driven by hyperbole and rhetoric.

A building is not a race. Banning a building and in this case only part of a building cannot possibly be considered racist. Now if you decided to ban say, bricks as a building material for no reason at all except you had a pathological hatred of bricks you could be accused of being ‘brickest’ I suppose and you may have some unions come down hard on you. But a minaret is not a building, a building is not a race and of course the central point that everyone misses each and every time this comes up is, Islam is not a race.

Now I don’t actually think banning minarets is the right solution. I think banning Islam is. There is no reason to allow Islam to continue its steady march towards supremacy in western nations unopposed that I can see. Mosques indeed are not an equivalent of a temple, church, or synagogue. They are indeed a beach-head from which supremacy is taught and greater and greater separation of Muslims from the host population until you have two solitudes and eventually the most intolerant system, Islam with it’s sharia law, will win. Just ask a Kosovar or an Egyptian Copt.

So recognizing that banning the minaret is merely a totem for what ultimately will have to be done if Swiss and indeed Western civilization has any intention of continuing its fine heritage of freedoms (leftist continual introduction of irrational crypto-environmental regulations and behavioural restrictions not withstanding) then at least making sure that Swiss mosques are not able to dominate the landscape, the actual purpose of the minaret, is a fine start. So please dear people of Switzerland; you utterly failed to assist the people of Europe from saving themselves from the Nazis, and in fact, acted out of self interest to work with them by managing stolen wealth. Let’s see if you have at least a healthy amount of that self-preservation instinct left in you. This time, you can lead Europe to self determination and save civilization.

Vote to ban the minaret. Then later, you can ban Islam altogether.

Kick A Black Day!

Kick A Black Day!
From Monkey in the Middle.

I am surprised this was not
an event sponsored by the
White House and the Obama
administration. Please, read
on. What if this had happened
to a Muslim, Black or Hispanic
student?

Ten students at a Florida middle school were suspended after district officials say they participated in "kick a Jew day."

District spokesman Joe Landon says a Jewish student at North Naples Middle School reported being kicked on Thursday. The school's principal addressed the entire student body the next morning and asked for anyone with information about the alleged attack to come forward.

The district determined that 10 students should be punished. They each served one day of in-school suspension Monday.

Landon says the first 20 minutes of the school day, which is normally used for reading and tutoring, will now be used to teach students about respect, kindness and ways to prevent bullying.

No criminal charges have been filed.

Feel free to contact the school here
or at 239-377-4600. You can also fax
them at 239-377-4601. Have at them.

Go ahead, mess with this Jew.

Note the the last line" No
criminal charges have been filed." Tragic
is what this is.

DEBKAfile - Second bomb explodes at Russian train crash site after 39 killed by first

DEBKAfile - Second bomb explodes at Russian train crash site after 39 killed by first

Posting this with a note of caution.
This is the first I have read or heard
about a second bomb at the site of
this terrorist attack.

The second bomb which exploded Saturday, Nov. 28, at the site of the Nevsky Express which was derailed Friday between Moscow and St. Petersburg crash site injured no one. It was less powerful than the first, which left 39 dead and 90 injured Friday near the town of Bologove. The Russian authorities confirmed a bomb of app. 7 kilos of TNT threw the train off the tracks when it was travelling at 200 mph. Elements of an explosive device were found at the scene where rescue teams are still digging for missing passengers.Elements of an explosive device were found at the scene.

The 661-seat luxury Nevsky Express is used by high officials, tycoons and tourists to commute between Moscow and St. Petersburg. Russian authorities say a list of victims will be released as soon as they are identified. North Caucasian Islamist terrorists are suspected of responsibility.

DEBKAfile's counter-terror sources note that the same train was targeted by terrorists in 2007. Sixty passengers were injured then, but no one was killed. Two Chechen suspects were charged

Our counter-terror sources report that attacks by North Caucasian terrorist groups linked to al Qaeda are on the rise in Russia inside and outside their home ground - and not only in Chechnya but also in Dagestan, Ingushetia and Kabardino-Balkaria. This Friday too, the commander of the Dagestan interior ministry's anti-terror task force SOBR was shot dead and a large bomb exploded near the southern train tracks to Makhachkala. A second bomb was discovered near a central pipeline. In Kabardino-Balkaria, police arresting suspects in a car came under gunfire.

President Dmitry Medvedev has declared a day of national mourning.

In Washington, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said, "We are deeply saddened by the terrible loss of life and injuries resulting from the reported derailment of a train between Moscow and Saint Petersburg."

American Thinker: If we sacrifice Jerusalem, why defend London?

American Thinker: If we sacrifice Jerusalem, why defend London?
by James Lewis

It is quite popular to bash not
only Israel, but the United States.
What many people around the world
forget is that without us, the United
States, the world would be in much
worse shape than it is now. Obama
is doing his best to wreck our image
abroad like another horrible president
we had, Jimmy 'the dhimmi' Carter.

We could be so lucky to have Bush doing this for Obama.

Mr. Lewis give a run down of what might
happen should the United States become
what the Obama administration wants us
to become, a global pansy. A country that
will not stand up for itself as it has in the
past, or come to our allies aid when urgently
needed.

This is what our allies can expect, nothing but
lies, appeasing our enemies and becoming weak
in the eyes of the world.

Compromise and Cowardice: The Obama way.

American Thinker: Obama's Deadly Strategy of "Compromise"
By Kyle Nathaniel Alfred Becker

Good read from American Thinker.
Here is just some of the article.

"We must come to terms with the reality that Obama is a Marxist who sees the world as an interrelated whole. Thus the causal mechanism for all suffering and injustice in his eyes is inequality. If the United States seeks to defeat an enemy, it is automatically an oppressor. If it fights a war in a foreign country, it is inherently neo-colonialist. If it seeks to expand trade, it is certainly neo-imperialist. If it is more economically successful, it is intrinsically exploitative. If it is patriotic, it is virulently nationalistic."

Indeed he is a Marxist. Look at his
friends and teachers. Rev. Wright
and Saul Alinsky just for starters.
I have had complaints that I am
too hard on Obama and his band
of racist, Jew hating cronies he has
placed in his administration. Please,
let's not forget all thos great Czars
he has appointed to circumvent the
Constitution.

A bit more from this excellent article.

"What the less strident leftists need to realize is that when fighting with a mortal enemy such as the Islamic jihadists, the compassionate thing to do is not to compromise with them but to end them. This requires decisive and deadly action combined with the moral fortitude and clarity to carry it out. Commander-in-Chief is not a position for the morally challenged, nor for pontificators spilling out platitudes as if they were vying for first place in a popularity contest. It requires the character and strength to make unsavory and unpopular decisions in the interest of protecting the nation long after one has left office. It requires the courage and humility of a man like George W. Bush."

Only one missing from here is Obama.

Islamic Terrorists cause Russian train wreck?

Russian Train Wreck Tied to Terrorist Bomb
New York Times

BYCLIFFORD J. LEVY and ELLEN BARRY

Published: November 28, 2009
MOSCOW — The cause of the crash of one of Russia’s most illustrious trains was identified on Saturday as a homemade bomb that went off on the tracks between Moscow and St. Petersburg, killing more than 25 people, wounding scores of others and raising fears of a new era of terrorism here.

How long until this happens in the United States?

Another gift to the world from radical Islamists
who think nothing of killing innocent people.

Officials called the explosion on Friday night the worst terrorist attack in Russia in years, outside volatile Muslim parts of the North Caucasus region, which includes Chechnya. There were no immediate credible claims of responsibility.

The force of the crash crumpled parts of the luxury train, propelling several of its 14 cars off the tracks, trapping passengers in smashed compartments and scattering luggage in the nearby woods.

People on the train described a scene of panic and devastation in a rural area that was difficult for rescuers to reach.

The train, the Nevsky Express, is a preferred means of travel for the Russian elite between the country’s two most important cities. Among the dead were a former senator and a senior official in the federal economics ministry.

At the attack site, 200 miles northwest of Moscow, investigators reported Saturday that they had found remnants of a homemade bomb, equivalent to 15 pounds of TNT, that left a crater five feet deep. The bomb was apparently planted on the tracks and detonated while the second half of the train was passing.

Vladimir I. Yakunin, president of Russian Railways, said: “The basic version that is being investigated by the lead investigators is that it was an unknown device, by unknown persons. Simply put, a terrorist act.”

Mr. Yakunin said a second, less powerful explosive went off Saturday at the site of the crash. No one was hurt.

On Saturday night, federal investigators were going house to house in the area around the crash, asking residents whether they had noticed anyone or anything suspicious recently.

Russia suffered a wave of attacks in the early part of the decade as Muslim separatists from Chechnya struck trains and public places in Moscow and elsewhere, but there have been no such deadly assaults in recent years.

However, another Nevsky Express train was derailed in 2007 by an explosion, wounding more than two dozen people. While two people were later arrested, their motive remains unclear.

On Saturday, all rail service between Moscow and St. Petersburg, 450 miles away, was temporarily suspended, and there were widespread reports that Russians were canceling trips out of concern over possible attacks.

In nationally televised remarks, President Dmitri A. Medvedev called for calm. “We need there to be no chaos, because the situation is tense as it is,” the president said.

Victims spoke of disarray soon after the crash, with rescuers delayed in arriving and then lacking equipment to extract people from the railway cars, according to interviews on Russian television. They said it was several hours before proper equipment arrived.

At a hospital in St. Petersburg, a passenger, Igor Pushkaryov, 32, who suffered minor injuries, said in an interview that he had been in the second car on the train.

“It felt like we hit something, something hard,” Mr. Pushkaryov said. “Then everything began to shake because the wheel was rolling on the railroad ties. The car fell on its side and turned over. When we fell, the lights went out. We slid for a time, then suddenly stopped.”

A passenger named Igor Pechnikov told the Channel One television network, “I was riding in one of the cars that derailed. There was a jolt, and the car started sliding sharply to the left. I was thrown from my seat and flew halfway down the car.”

Another passenger, Tatyana Yeryomina, said: “Three of us went into the corridor to chat, when suddenly the lights went out and we fell to the floor. We were able to group together, which saved us. There was a huge hole in our car and we realized that something catastrophic had happened.”

When a frantic dispatcher reached the train after the derailment, the engineer described confusion.

“There is smoke everywhere,” the engineer said, according to a recording played on television. “The locomotive is damaged. Everything is torn apart in my cabin.”

The train was carrying more than 650 passengers and 20 railway personnel during its regular run to St. Petersburg, which takes four and a half hours.

On Saturday, Yekaterina Ivanova, one of the wounded passengers, told the NTV network that the evacuation was frustratingly slow.

“In the hospital, the doctors are better, the medical teams are working in harmony,” she said. “The young people from the Ministry of Emergency Situations carried us out on stretchers, but other people in uniform were just standing there and staring, and no one was even helping to carry out the wounded.”

How well prepared is Amtrak to respond to a disaster like this?

Russian Train Derailment Ms. Ivanova said rescue personnel did not manage to extract her from the train until 1:30 a.m., nearly four hours after the derailment.

Medical workers reported that reaching the scene was complicated because it was far from major highways.

Nadezhda Milyukova, the lead emergency doctor, told NTV: “There are only country roads, with huge ditches and puddles. You need all-terrain vehicles for those roads.”

Victims’ relatives told television networks that government hot lines did not function well, and that when they got through, there was little information.

“When we asked for some contact phone numbers, the lady told us that it didn’t fall within her job description,” a relative said.

Hundreds of passengers who survived the crash were moved onto a high-speed train and taken to St. Petersburg, arriving at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday. Several were in shock, and nearly all refused to speak about what had happened.

Police officers surrounded the platform, and ambulances pulled up to the train cars. Oleg Salov, a senior emergency situations official, said psychologists were meeting with relatives of the dead and wounded.

One of the train’s cafe cars was turned into a center for first aid and psychological assistance, and many passengers went there instead of home.

For Russians, the attack on Friday night may have been reminiscent of terrorist acts that stirred unease across the country earlier in the decade, when Muslim separatists from Chechnya made passenger trains, subways and other public places targets.

A 2003 suicide bomb attack on a commuter train near Chechnya killed 44. At least 12 people were wounded in 2005 when a bomb derailed a train headed from Chechnya to Moscow. And in 2002, more than 100 hostages died in a rescue attempt after Chechen terrorists seized a theater in the heart of Moscow.

In interviews at railway stations on Saturday night, some travelers expressed concern about future attacks, while others shrugged off possible danger.

Is the Obama administration ready for something like this?
They have handled the Flu Pandemic so well, it gives many of us
zero confidence in the Obama admisnistration.

“Am I scared of traveling to St. Petersburg tonight? Yes, very much!” said a middle-aged woman named Valentina, who declined to give her last name while waiting at a Moscow station. “I purchased my tickets yesterday afternoon, before the catastrophe happened. If it weren’t for the health of my relative, I wouldn’t have come here.”

She started crying. “This problem is not easily solved,” she said. “And this train bombing might be a first terror attack in a chain.”

Obama appoints anti-Israel lobbyist as anti-Semitism czar

The proliferation of czars is a Constitutional issue, but aside from that, the jihadis worldwide must be extraordinarily happy over Obama's consistent anti-Israel line. "Anti-Israel lobbyist appointed to anti-Semitism post: J Street pick hints Jewish state to blame for hatred against its people," by Aaron Klein for WorldNetDaily, November 26:

President Obama's new anti-Semitism czar serves on the board of a controversial Israel-lobby group accused of working against the Jewish state, while her writings suggest Israel's policies are to blame for anti-Semitism.

Hannah Rosenthal, a former Health Department regional director under the Clinton administration, started her position earlier this week as the State Department's new special envoy to monitor and combat anti-Semitism. She previously headed the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, an umbrella U.S. Jewish organization.

Rosenthal, however, serves on the board of J Street, a lobby group that is mostly led by left-leaning Israelis and that receives funds from Arab and Muslim Americans.

J Street brands itself as pro-Israel. It states on its website it seeks to "promote meaningful American leadership to end the Arab-Israeli and Israeli-Palestinian conflicts peacefully and diplomatically."

J Street, however, also supports talks with Hamas, a terrorist group whose charter seeks the destruction of Israel. The group opposes sanctions against Iran and is harshly critical of Israeli offensive anti-terror military actions.

Even the Israeli government has been distancing itself from J Street, with its ambassador to Washington, Michael Oren, refusing to attend its annual dinner last month. Israeli Embassy spokesman Yoni Peled told the Jerusalem Post his government has some "concern over certain [J Street] policies that could impair Israel's interests."...

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu Damages Israel with concessions. What a moron.

The Judenrat
From Atlas Shrugs

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu severely crippled
Israel and the Israeli postion earlier this week by starting
a partial band on settlements. A ban on ANY settlements
no matter where they are is a horrible blunder and will
cost Israel deeply. Jewish lives will be lost because of this
move of cowardice and knuckling under to the demands of the
Obama admisnistration. The demands will not stop here
and will only increase for Israel to give up more land and
make other concessions while the palestinians do nothing,
and give up NOTHING. Netanyahu has stabbed Israel
and every Jew in the back as far as I am concerned.

"A day after Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu announced that the security cabinet had approved a partial moratorium on building in the West Bank, Sports and Culture Minister Limor Livnat launched an unprecedented attack on US President Barack Obama. Speaking at a Likud activists' meeting in Beersheba, Livnat said that Israel had "fallen into the hands of a horrible American administration."

International Criminal Court loooking into American war crimes?

This is such a travesity. The ICC is about as useful
as the United Nations of Islam, or what passes for
the U.N. these days. Obama will make the U.S.
a signatory of the ICC, just a matter of time.
Former President Bush knew better than to sign
on with this bunch of new world order, new age
of global reality. Just because Ocampo and the
ICC went after Sudan's Bashir makes them even
handed and fair? I do not think so and making
the comparison of our troops to a murdering
scum like Bashir is bad enough. Unfortunately,
it will not be enough of warning to stop the
chief appeaser and coward in the White House
from throwing in with nasty bunch of anti-
American haters that make up the ICC.

Prosecuting American 'War Crimes'

By DANIEL SCHWAMMENTHAL

The Hague

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed "great regret" in August that the U.S. is not a signatory to the International Criminal Court (ICC). This has fueled speculation that the Obama administration may reverse another Bush policy and sign up for what could lead to the trial of Americans for war crimes in The Hague.

The ICC's chief prosecutor, though, has no intention of waiting for Washington to submit to the court's authority. Luis Moreno Ocampo says he already has jurisdiction—at least with respect to Afghanistan.

Because Kabul in 2003 ratified the Rome Statute—the ICC's founding treaty—all soldiers on Afghan territory, even those from nontreaty countries, fall under the ICC's oversight, Mr. Ocampo told me. And the chief prosecutor says he is already conducting a "preliminary examination" into whether NATO troops, including American soldiers, fighting the Taliban may have to be put in the dock.

"We have to check if crimes against humanity, war crimes or genocide have been committed in Afghanistan," Mr. Ocampo told me. "There are serious allegations against the Taliban and al Qaeda and serious allegations about warlords, even against some who are connected with members of the government." Taking up his inquiry of Allied soldiers, he added, "there are different reports about problems with bombings and there are also allegations about torture."

It was clear who the targets of these particular inquiries are but the chief prosecutor shied away from spelling it out.

Asked repeatedly whether the examination of bombings and torture allegations refers to NATO and U.S. soldiers, Mr. Ocampo finally stated that "we are investigating whoever commits war crimes, including the group you mentioned."

The fact that he avoided a straightforward "I am looking into possible war crimes committed by American soldiers" showed that Mr. Ocampo is aware of the enormity of crossing this legal and political bridge. Appointed in 2003 for a nine-year period, the 57-year-old Argentinian has—so far—established a record of cautious jurisprudence.

Mr. Ocampo is famous in his home country for prosecuting military juntas as well as starring in a reality program where he adjudicated private disputes. And in his first six years at the ICC, he pursued real evildoers. He indicted Ugandan rebel Joseph Kony, militia leaders from the Congo and Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir, responsible for the genocide in Darfur. Yet collecting information about possible war crimes by American soldiers smacks of just the sort of politicized prosecution critics of the ICC had always warned about.

Mr. Ocampo remained tight-lipped about the specifics of his preliminary examination. Asked whether waterboarding—a practice that simulates drowning without causing lasting physical harm—is a form of torture produced a telling "no comment." Yet if the Obama administration considers this practice torture, one has to wonder if the ICC's chief prosecutor would give it his stamp of approval.

There is also the issue of whether Predator strikes of unmanned drones targeting terrorist leaders in Afghanistan and Pakistan—as carried out in the very first week of the Obama presidency—are part of the bombings he's looking into. Mr. Ocampo chuckled and answered evasively. "We have people around the world concerned about this," he said, and when pressed, added, "Whatever the gravest war crimes are that have been committed, we have to check."

"Gravest" is the operative word here. The court was established to "end impunity for the perpetrators of the most serious crimes of concern to the international community," as stated on the ICC's Web site. This would suggest that even if U.S. soldiers have committed war crimes by the prosecutor's definition, the ICC would have no reason to get involved as those transgressions would surely be insignificant compared to the butchery in places like Sudan or Congo.

Mr. Ocampo's own words, though, suggested that he disagrees. I asked him if he was going to prosecute the worst crimes in his jurisdiction or the worst crimes in a particular case, such as Afghanistan, irrespective of how they compare to crimes around the world. He paused before answering.

"Normally," he said (another pause) "we select situations which are grave, for instance when I choose. . . ." Mr. Ocampo didn't finish the sentence, sighed and began afresh: "Both [scenarios] are right. Normally, we open investigations in the worst situation in the world and in some cases [countries] we investigate the worst situation."

This is an expansive and controversial interpretation of the court's mandate, one that may put an end to the debate about whether former President George W. Bush, fearing just such judicial activism, was justified in unsigning the Rome Statute his predecessor, Bill Clinton, had endorsed. Although the prosecutor's preliminary examination may not result in a formal investigation of Americans, the mere potential of a legal confrontation between the court in The Hague and Washington should be disconcerting to the White House, not to mention to all Americans.

In any event, the ICC's very existence is already changing the way Western nations fights wars. Mr. Ocampo recounted how a legal adviser to NATO told him that troops these days are trained to realize that, in case of transgressions, they could be arrested and brought to the ICC on war crimes charges with the help of evidence provided by NATO itself.

"That is the new world," Mr. Ocampo said proudly. I asked the obvious follow-up. "If this is the 'new world,' why do you bother collecting information about NATO and U.S. troops in Afghanistan?" Why, in other words, when his task is to end the impunity for the worst war crimes, does he spend his limited resources on the most advanced democracies in the world—which operate under strict rules of engagement, have their own chain-of-command investigations and swift prosecution of criminals? Mr. Ocampo got slightly irritated.

"You are suggesting that we are a court only for the Third World. That's what the Arab world said about Bashir, that we are using double standards," he explained. "I said no, I prosecute whoever is in my jurisdiction. I cannot allow that we are a court just for the Third World. If the First World commits crimes, they have to investigate, if they don't, I shall investigate. That's the rule and we have one rule for everyone."

Mr. Ocampo—who has a photo of himself with the head of the Arab League, Amr Moussa, on his windowsill—could have pointed out to his Arab interlocutors that the real double standard was their own complaining about alleged Western aggression against Muslims while they protect Sudan's Bashir, the greatest butcher of Muslims in modern history. The fact that Mr. Ocampo mentioned the Sudanese perpetrator of genocide in the same breath with alleged crimes of NATO soldiers shed light on what the International Criminal Court may have in store for the U.S. in the future.
