Obama's outreaching to Islamic world of terrorists, oops, I meant to say Islamic 'moderates.

In his desperation to strike a victory in the foreign policy arena, especially the 'beloved' Muslim world, Obama will talk to any Islamic/Muslim groups. Even those so called 'moderate'groups like Hamas, Hizbollah, Muslim Brotherhood, MSA, MPAC, and even the Taliban. Al-Qaeda should not be too far removed from the list of appropriate moderate Islamic groups Obama is willing to enage. Pretty damn sad to watch and it so reminds of the days of Jimmy the dhimmi Carter and how he capitulated to the Islamoterrorists in 1979. Way to go, mullah Obamaham!

Obama Administration Now Considers Practically All Islamists Except for Al Qaeda as OK for Engagement

Confidential Reporter

China Confidential

The Obama administration is targeting Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) for sanctions, singling out the elite and increasingly powerful military force as the main culprit behind the Islamist nation's nuclear program.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has even called on the Islamist clerics to rise up against the IRGC, praising pillars of the so-called Islamic Republic.

Incredibly, engagement of the monstrous mullahocracy--minus the IRGC--is still official U.S. policy.

So is engagement with supposedly moderate--"reconcilable"--elements of the Taliban, even while Washington scores impressive gains against the dreaded Islamist group, which is aligned with Al Qaeda.

Hamas and Hezbollah? Engagement is clearly on the table with "moderate" factions of these Islamist Foreign Terrorist Organizations.

Chinese and Russian Islamist separatists? No apparent reason they should not be engaged in the eyes of the Obama administration.

Also welcome, it seems: the Muslim Brotherhood, fountainhead of fascistic political Islam (Islamism) and a myriad of Muslim Brotherhood front groups.

The only Islamist organization that is clearly not acceptable by the administration for engagement is Al Qaeda itself--for now. In time, proponents of engagement are almost certain to discover reconcilable wings, or factions, or elements of the terrorist network. When that dreadful day comes, only the original Al Qaeda, or hard core Qaeda, or whatever the term will be for these Islamist terrorists--also known as "violent extremists"--will be banned from engagement.

Iranian position leader speaks out for first time in over 48 hours, but from where?

DEBKAfile - Iran's opposition leader Mousavi in defiant pledge to die for the cause

It is business as usual in relations between the West and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

A US official explained this indifference to a US daily by saying that Obama was engaged in a difficult balancing act: "The aim of any sanctions is to force the Tehran government to the negotiating table, rather than to punish it for either its apparent push to develop a nuclear weapon or its treatment of its people."

In Tehran, this attitude is taken as a free hand to carry on as before, our Iranian sources report.

So Obama is engaged in a "difficult balancing act."
Does that mean he and his band of
Islamosympathizers are busy behind closed doors,
hiding what they are actually doing from the
American people? More transparency from the administration of hope and change? The one that promised to have everything out where we can see
what is going on, being done? They try to pass off
"indifference" as using sanctions that we all know
will be worthless in forcing Iran to do anything other
than what they have been doing all along.

What about our brave European allies? Willing to
commmit to nothing that has any teeth or backbone
as they always have been willing to do. I am in
complete agreement. It is business as usual between
the West and Iran. Pretty easy to do and justify
when the fox is in the hen house, passing the

Iran's opposition leader Mousavi in defiant pledge to die for the cause

DEBKAfile Exclusive Report

January 1, 2010

Iran's opposition leader Mir Hosein Mousavi. Is he in custody awaiting execution?

The first sign of life from opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi Friday, Jan. 1 came 48 hours after he went missing in the form of a pledge of willingness to sacrifice his life in defense of the people's rights. In a strong message to the Kaleme Web site, he said Iran was in a serious crisis, starting from the disputed June presidential election. He condemned the bloody crackdown waged by the authorities against protesters and said the thousands of political prisoners must be released. Mousavi quoted the revolution's founder Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini who said: "Kill us, we will become stronger."

Thursday, the Islamic regime marked the last day of the year by sending tanks, armored cars and Revolutionary Guards special units to take up positions in central Tehran, ready to crack down further on protesters after a week of demonstrations.

The anti-government reformists go in fear of their lives since Mousavi's nephew was shot dead Monday.

Hardline supreme ruler Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's spokesmen called this week for the execution of this and other opposition figures. Iran's state prosecutor warned them Thursday they would be put on trial if they failed to denounce anti-government protests.

Wednesday, as pro-government demonstrators shouted anti-opposition slogans in Tehran, Mousavi and a second prominent protest leader, Ayatollah Mehid Karroubi, were reported by government sources to have fled the city. Their families denied they were missing. Opposition sources said they had been picked by Revolutionary Guards and Intelligence Ministry agents.

Since then they have not been seen in public, prompting grave concerns about their fate. Mousavi's Internet statement does not prove he is free or alive, or offer a clue to the mystery of his whereabouts.

This mystery, coupled with the brutal suppression of unarmed demonstrators in Tehran, has not so far galvanized the United States, Britain, France or Germany into an all-out drive to find out what has happened to Iran's missing opposition leaders or take up the cause of the thousands of political prisoners facing savage abuse and death in Iran's jails.

It is business as usual in relations between the West and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Of course of useless president in not around for any commentary or support.

From Pamela at Atlas Shrugs:
Pandemonium as clashes continue in Tehran for 2nd day as protesters defy Islamic Government (more) Eyewitness reports and opposition websites say Security forces fired on the crowds in several places, wounding many, killing at least four eleven that we know of.

The worst president at the worst of times. We are in Middle East. Let's help these people. We should arm them, We should go in and de-nuke the mullahs. No, instead we are trying Islamic jihad in Gaza and givign them billions.

These people will win. They have right on their side. They wull never forgive us, leaders of the free world, for abandoning them as they were slaughtered. This is a terrible stain on the glory that was once a proud and glorious America. But then again, so is this president.

Reporting from Tehran and Beirut - The Iranian capital erupted in massive and fiery morning-to-dusk protests today as tens of thousands of demonstrators clashed with security forces on the occasion of an important Shiite Muslim holiday.

Several witnesses told The Times that Iranian security forces opened fire with live ammunition against unarmed protesters near College Bridge in in the capital. And opposition news websites reported that several protesters had been killed, including Ali Mousavi, the adult nephew of opposition figurehead Mir-Hossein Mousavi.

Reformist websites said he was shot and taken to a Tehran hospital, where his uncle and other relatives soon arrived.

The information could not be independently confirmed, and a police source denied that protesters had been killed in a comment to the pro-government Fars News Agency.

But a witness in front of City Theater in downtown Tehran said she saw a fallen man, apparently stabbed in the back, and spotted another man falling to the ground after a volley of shots was fired near Enghelab Street, which emerged as the epicenter of the day's clashes.

The reports of deaths came during a harrowing day of multiple, rolling clashes between police and Iranian protesters coinciding with an important Ashura religious commemoration as well as the significant seventh day of mourning following the death of the country's leading dissident cleric, Ayatollah Hossein Ali Montazeri.

Reformist websites and witnesses also reported clashes in the cities of Qom, Esfahan, Najafabad, Kashan, Shiraz, Babol and Mashhad.

Demonstrators vowed to continue the protests into the night, with reformist news websites identifying key Tehran squares for gatherings.

"There is no let-up," said Farzad, a 30-year-old who attended today's protests with his girlfriend. "We will go ahead until we topple the government."

Dramatic New Evidence On Major Nidal Hasan and the Fort Hood Terror Attack

Posted: 24 Dec 2009 06:18 AM PST

By Barry Rubin

This story seems to blow the lid off the killings at Fort Hood. Anwar al-Awlaki, a Muslim cleric who is a U.S. citizen now living in Yemen, says that the mass murdering major, Khalid Hasan, asked and was given by him a religious ruling authorizing him to shoot the soldiers. This would prove premeditation, a rational decision based on Islamic law, and the Jihadist motivation of the attack beyond any ability to conceal it.

Awlaki’s al-Jazira interview is translated by MEMRI which, it should be noted, does not at all sensationalize the story. While Awlaki could be talking big or “taking credit” for the terrorist operation, he was the imam at Hasan’s mosque in the Washington DC area for some time. His account is credible though it obviously should be investigated closely.

According to the interview, Hasan sent Awlaki an email on December 17, 2008, in which he asked, in Awlaki’s words whether “killing American soldiers and officers…is a religiously legitimate act or not."

After an extensive correspondence, Awlaki complied, blessing the attack three days before it happened:

"Because Nidal's target was a military target inside America, and there is no question about this. Then, also, those members of the military were not regular soldiers; rather they were prepared and preparing themselves to go to battle and to kill downtrodden Muslims and to commit crimes in Afghanistan…."

This information is of the greatest importance. Hasan went to his imam, asked to be assured that shooting his fellow soldiers was a recommended deed under Islamic law, and was told to go ahead. Incidentally, Awlaki has thus become an accessory to the crime and U.S. authorities should ask the Yemeni government to ensure he can be interviewed and extradited.

The ABC network's coverage claims that it was not clear from the transcript whether Awlaki gave Hasan a green light to kill his fellow American soldiers. While Awlaki doesn't say in so many words that he told him to go ahead, it is quite clear from the transcript that this is precisely what he did do.

Some reports of a Yemeni government air attack on an al-Qaida meeting claim that Awlaki was one of the targets.

Once again, MEMRI has done excellent work and you might consider making a donation to them. The full text of the interview can be obtained by writing memri@memri.org or jttmsubs@memri.org. with the words "Al-Awlaki Interview" in the subject line.

David Brooks is not even close in his last column on Obama.

David Brooks has written some excellent
op-eds throughout his career. This last one
on Obama's speech was perhaps, his worst
one. The picture below is one some of you
may recall. "Wrong Way Feldman" is what
immediately came to mind after I read Brook's

Obama's NPP(JOKE) acceptance speech.
China Confidential takes this apart quite well.

David Brooks All Wrong on Obama

"Wrong Way Feldman" from Gilligan's Island
Episode #124

Has conservative columnist David Brooks lost his mind?

Click here for his wildly wrong--actually absurd--Op-Ed piece, which praises Barack Obama for delivering an allegedly "pitch-perfect" Nobel award acceptance speech that is supposedly reflective of a new and more realistic outlook on foreign affairs.

Nothing could be father from the truth. America's most left-wing and first Muslim-born President is an appeaser of radical Islam, a third-rate intellectual with an extremely limited and biased view of history and international relations. He is no realist--not by a long stretch. Obama clearly understands nothing about power relationships, the status quo and peace preservation, the art of diplomacy, imperialism and totalitarianism; hence, his disastrous attempts to engage (appease) and align with Islamism, a clerical fascist creed that must be destroyed in order to save civilization as we know it.

Hence, too, Obama's outreach to and elevation of "the Muslim world"--an Islamist concept that is inherently menacing to the West. Briefly put, Obama has played into Islamist hands at home and abroad by downgrading the war against Islamism to the level of a law enforcement problem; given Islamist Iran another year to acquire atomic arms, while relentlessly pressuring America's ally, Israel--the only democracy in the Middle East--to withdraw to indefensible borders in order to make possible the creation of an Islamist terror state in disputed parts of the so-called West Bank and East Jerusalem; undermined secularism in Turkey and Egypt; and effectively encouraged the Islamist takeover of Europe and infiltration of the United States. His decision to bring Al Qaeda war criminals captured overseas to New York City for civilian court trials, and irrational insistence on referring to Islamist terrorist attacks--including the Fort Hood massacre in Texas by a traitorous Muslim major and the bombing of the Nevsky Express passenger train in Russia by Chechen Muslims--as "tragedies" make the U.S. less secure.

In short, Obama has done nothing right when it comes to foreign policy. Bowing to the Saudi king--deeply and submissively, from the waist, like a Muslim servant--addressing the so-called Muslim world from Cairo University, and power-handshaking Iran's increasingly aggressive, South American ally, Venezuelan despot Hugo Chavez, were just the tips of the iceberg.

Rod Blagojevich's lawyers want the FBI to give up details of interviews conducted last year of President Obama, his chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, White House adviser Valerie Jarrett and others as part of the investigation into the former governor.

In a Friday filing, Blagojevich attorneys also asked for information regarding first lady Michelle Obama. However, a source said late Friday that the FBI never interviewed the first lady.

Rod Blagojevich's lawyers want the FBI to give up details of interviews conducted last year with President Obama (from top left), Michelle Obama, Valerie Jarrett and Rahm Emanuel. A source said Friday, the FBI never interviewed the first lady.

Then-President-elect Obama, Emanuel and Jarrett sat down with the FBI about a year ago -- just after Blagojevich was arrested on charges of trying to sell Obama's recently vacated Senate seat to the highest bidder.

Obama revealed he was interviewed in a report he made public last December.

The defense request, filed in federal court, asks for "notes, transcripts and reports" of interviews with the Obamas, Emanuel, Jarrett and union chiefs Thomas Balanoff and Andy Stern.

The request was part of a larger bid by defense lawyers to have prosecutors turn over additional materials, including witness statements, six months before the June trial date. Typically, prosecutors give the defense such information 30 days before the trial.

Shelly Sorosky, an attorney for Blagojevich, said the defense needs additional time with the material "because there's so much of it. This is massive stuff."

American Thinker Blog: Judge blocks ACORN funding ban

Judge blocks ACORN funding ban

Rick Moran

Calling the federal government's action in defunding ACORN "punitive," a federal judge issued a temporary restraining order that restores federal funding to the group.

Nomaan Merchant writing in the Wall Street Journal:

U.S. District Judge Nina Gershon in New York issued a temporary injunction late Friday. Her ruling is expected to stand until the current restrictions on Acorn expire next Friday as part of a temporary spending bill. A permanent ban, the Defund Acorn Act, has passed the House and is pending in the Senate.

Acorn's lawyers argued in part that Congress had violated the Constitution's ban on bills of attainder, legislation that punishes a specific person or group without the rights that courts provide. In making its argument, the Acorn lawyers included quotes from several Republicans accusing Acorn of being a criminal organization that deserved to be punished.

In her decision, the judge wrote that those statements "underline the punitive nature of the government's purportedly non-punitive reason" for banning Acorn.

The Justice Department said it was reviewing the decision.

Herein lies the problem; not all community organizing groups are criminal outfits like ACORN. Many are faith based organizations that do substantial good in the inner cities and for poor folk. Ideally, you would want private contributions funding these outfits but given the neighborhoods and regions these groups operate in, that simply isn't possible. There is no economic base to draw sustenance from.

The best solution would be local taxes going to fund local groups. But powerful organizations like ACORN who can hire their own lobbyists - and who help the Democrats come election time - have parlayed that into an ability to soak all of us to fund their schemes.

Excising ACORN funding from the federal budget will be a difficult task. It will be impossible unless a full blown investigation into ACORN activities - especially their "non-partisan" political activities - is undertaken and they are revealed to be the danger to the republic that they truly are.

private sector.

Job Creation for Dummies

By Mark Alexander · Thursday, December 10, 2009

"Were we directed from Washington when to sow, and when to reap, we should soon want bread." --Thomas Jefferson

Barack Obama outlined his Recovery.gov version 2.0 on Tuesday of this week, saying, "My economic team has been considering a full range of additional ideas to help accelerate the pace of private sector hiring. We held a jobs forum at the White House..."

Indeed, Obama held a much-publicized "jobs" confab last week, ostensibly to obtain ideas about how to create (and save?) more of them. This exercise in futility was fodder so he could feign having sought advice from some people who actually create jobs.

However, most of the 135 invitees were from federal, state and local government, academic institutions, labor unions and not-for-profits. Alas, he did toss in a few folks from the private sector where job creation actually occurs. He told them, "I'm confident that people like you ... can come up with some additional good ideas on how to create jobs."

Additional good ideas?

I suspect Obama was suggesting that some of his proposals thus far have been good ideas. Unfortunately, despite all the jobs Obama claims to have saved or created with his $787 billion "stimulus" package, unemployment has increased from 7.6 percent when he took office, to 10 percent.

Setting aside the absurdity of his pet "saved or created" construction, it seems to me that if he had actually created jobs, unemployment would be somewhere under 7.6 percent. But Democrat math never ads up. Fact is, there has been a net loss of at least 3.4 million jobs under the "Obama recovery."

"We're not going to get anything useful out of [this summit]," concluded Peter Morici, from the University of Maryland's Smith School of Business. Obama and Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner "really don't know what to do."

What an understatement.

Investor's Business Daily analyzed cabinet posts of administrations over the last century and determined that prior to Obama, Kennedy and Carter had the lowest number of appointees from the private sector, about 30 percent in each administration.

As only 8 percent of Obama's key appointees are from the private sector, precious few of them have actually created or understand how to create non-government jobs.

Needless to say, there was widespread skepticism about this jobs summit, so Obama sent out his senior White House adviser, Valerie Jarrett, to do some pre-emptive Bush-blaming.

"We inherited an economic meltdown 10 months ago," claimed Jarrett. "[Obama] moved boldly to get us back on track with a variety of measures."

Oh really? Fact is, then-Senator Obama and his Democrat colleagues went to great lengths to undermine the U.S. economy for political expedience.

As for critics of Obama's socialist economic philosophy, Jarrett issued this challenge: "I would say to those critics, we welcome your ideas. We embrace all good ideas and I think critics should stop saying what won't work and come forward with what will work."

Well, OK! As the owner of an Internet publishing company, and manager of several other business ventures, here are some good ideas that will work -- in fact, ideas that have proven to work.

First: Let's clear up a misconception: Government does not create jobs because it does not create wealth. Government is a consumer of wealth, not a producer.

As my colleague and noted economist Thomas Sowell writes: "What does it take to create a job? It takes wealth to pay someone who is hired, not to mention additional wealth to buy the material that person will use. But government creates no wealth. Ignoring that plain and simple fact enables politicians to claim to be able to do all sorts of miraculous things that they cannot do in fact. Without creating wealth, how can they create jobs? By taking wealth from others, whether through taxation, selling bonds or imposing mandates. However it is done, transferring wealth is not creating wealth. When government uses transferred wealth to hire people, it is essentially transferring jobs from the private sector, not adding to the net number of jobs in the economy."

As Heritage Foundation's Conn Carroll notes, "every dollar Congress 'injects' into the economy must first be taxed or borrowed out of the economy."

And, to add insult to injury, government is an extremely inefficient consumer of wealth, with up to 70 percent of income-transfer program (a.k.a., welfare program) budgets going to bureaucratic overhead.

Second: Taxes do not create jobs. Taxes eliminate jobs.

Higher income taxes to pay for more government spending and debt, higher business taxes associated with CO2 production, and higher individual taxes to pay for ObamaCare will push the nation from recession to depression.

Take all of these tax-and-spend proposals off the table.

Ronald Reagan inherited a deep recession from the Carter administration. President Reagan cut taxes, and the resulting 25-year economic growth cycle produced 35 million new jobs and increased government revenues by almost 30 percent -- the largest peacetime economic expansion in history.

Third: Regulations do not create jobs. Regulations eliminate jobs by choking productivity and stemming wealth production, thus disabling job creation.

There is no corner of the U.S. economy that isn't currently regulated by the central government, and consequently, the cost to business and consumers is staggering.

This week, as Obama administration officials were in Copenhagen selling out the U.S. economy to the cap-n-tax crowd, his EPA director, Lisa Jackson, declared back home that carbon dioxide -- the stuff we humans exhale when we breathe -- poses a danger to the environment. This means that new regulations on business and industry are on the way, the costs of which will ultimately be borne by consumers.

The CO2 regulations, as I have argued previously, have everything to do with centralizing economic control and nothing to do with climate change, and Obama should be more concerned about the U.S. economic climate than bogus global climate change predictions.

To supplement economic recovery by deregulation, a thoughtful president might also push for tort reform. While all those dollars spent defending frivolous lawsuits might create more trial lawyers, they cost real Americans real jobs.

Fourth: Government spending does not create jobs. Government spending eliminates jobs.

According to Obama, "There are those who claim we have to choose between paying down our deficits on the one hand, and investing in job creation and economic growth on the other -- but this is a false choice." He then went on to say, that we must "spend our way out of this recession."

Horse pucky.

Unprecedented deficit spending for unsustainable entitlements, and accumulation of national debt, now at more than $12 trillion, poses an enormous threat to our economic future. Obama's proposals will add $13 trillion in deficit spending over the next 10 years.

There are only three ways to cut that debt: Raise taxes, inflate the dollar or cut government spending.

The first two will destroy any semblance of economic recovery. Only the latter will strengthen the U.S. economy and create jobs.

The president should hold the line on discretionary spending and enact spending caps enforced by a balanced budget amendment, as first proposed by Reagan and blocked by Democrats every time it comes up.

Fifth: Protectionism does not create jobs. Protectionism hinders job growth.

Start by approving stalled trade agreements with Colombia, South Korea, and Panama. After all, 95 percent of consumers on our planet live outside the U.S. We need unfettered access to those markets. Even the Obama administration acknowledges that every percentage point increase in exports creates more than 250,000 jobs in the U.S.

In summary, what Obama can do to help me, and all private-sector employers, create new jobs is this: Get out of our way.

Of course, Obama and his ilk will consider none of my proposals because they think government is the solution, not the problem.

Meanwhile, Joe Biden, Obama's point man for jobs, has been making the rounds and spinning yarns about what his grandfather had to say about recessions and depressions.

"My grandpop used to have an expression. We're from Scranton. He said, 'Joey, when the guy in Dixon City' -- a small town above Scranton -- 'is out of work, it's an economic slowdown. When your brother-in-law is out of work, it's a recession. When you're out of work, it's a depression.'"

Biden's grandfather must've been Harry Truman. "When your neighbor is out of work, it is a recession. When you are out of work, it is a depression," said Truman back in 1958. In 1980, Reagan shrewdly amended that chestnut: "A recession is when your neighbor loses his job. A depression is when you lose yours. A recovery is when Jimmy Carter loses his."

So, maybe Obama was smart for not inviting me to his jobs summit, because I would have been screaming from the rooftop that a recovery is when Barak Obama loses his job. For that, in all likelihood, is the only proposal that will result in true job creation.

Footnote: On Obama's recovery.gov website, there is a link to "report fraud, waste and abuse." When understood in the proper context of our Constitution, all of Obama's proposals constitute fraud, waste and abuse, so I recommend you report it!

Obama appoints anti-Israel lobbyist as anti-Semitism czar

The proliferation of czars is a Constitutional issue, but aside from that, the jihadis worldwide must be extraordinarily happy over Obama's consistent anti-Israel line. "Anti-Israel lobbyist appointed to anti-Semitism post: J Street pick hints Jewish state to blame for hatred against its people," by Aaron Klein for WorldNetDaily, November 26:

President Obama's new anti-Semitism czar serves on the board of a controversial Israel-lobby group accused of working against the Jewish state, while her writings suggest Israel's policies are to blame for anti-Semitism.

Hannah Rosenthal, a former Health Department regional director under the Clinton administration, started her position earlier this week as the State Department's new special envoy to monitor and combat anti-Semitism. She previously headed the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, an umbrella U.S. Jewish organization.

Rosenthal, however, serves on the board of J Street, a lobby group that is mostly led by left-leaning Israelis and that receives funds from Arab and Muslim Americans.

J Street brands itself as pro-Israel. It states on its website it seeks to "promote meaningful American leadership to end the Arab-Israeli and Israeli-Palestinian conflicts peacefully and diplomatically."

J Street, however, also supports talks with Hamas, a terrorist group whose charter seeks the destruction of Israel. The group opposes sanctions against Iran and is harshly critical of Israeli offensive anti-terror military actions.

Even the Israeli government has been distancing itself from J Street, with its ambassador to Washington, Michael Oren, refusing to attend its annual dinner last month. Israeli Embassy spokesman Yoni Peled told the Jerusalem Post his government has some "concern over certain [J Street] policies that could impair Israel's interests."...

on with this bunch of new world order, new age
of global reality. Just because Ocampo and the
ICC went after Sudan's Bashir makes them even
handed and fair? I do not think so and making
the comparison of our troops to a murdering
scum like Bashir is bad enough. Unfortunately,
it will not be enough of warning to stop the
chief appeaser and coward in the White House
from throwing in with nasty bunch of anti-
American haters that make up the ICC.

Prosecuting American 'War Crimes'

By DANIEL SCHWAMMENTHAL

The Hague

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed "great regret" in August that the U.S. is not a signatory to the International Criminal Court (ICC). This has fueled speculation that the Obama administration may reverse another Bush policy and sign up for what could lead to the trial of Americans for war crimes in The Hague.

The ICC's chief prosecutor, though, has no intention of waiting for Washington to submit to the court's authority. Luis Moreno Ocampo says he already has jurisdiction—at least with respect to Afghanistan.

Because Kabul in 2003 ratified the Rome Statute—the ICC's founding treaty—all soldiers on Afghan territory, even those from nontreaty countries, fall under the ICC's oversight, Mr. Ocampo told me. And the chief prosecutor says he is already conducting a "preliminary examination" into whether NATO troops, including American soldiers, fighting the Taliban may have to be put in the dock.

"We have to check if crimes against humanity, war crimes or genocide have been committed in Afghanistan," Mr. Ocampo told me. "There are serious allegations against the Taliban and al Qaeda and serious allegations about warlords, even against some who are connected with members of the government." Taking up his inquiry of Allied soldiers, he added, "there are different reports about problems with bombings and there are also allegations about torture."

It was clear who the targets of these particular inquiries are but the chief prosecutor shied away from spelling it out.

Asked repeatedly whether the examination of bombings and torture allegations refers to NATO and U.S. soldiers, Mr. Ocampo finally stated that "we are investigating whoever commits war crimes, including the group you mentioned."

The fact that he avoided a straightforward "I am looking into possible war crimes committed by American soldiers" showed that Mr. Ocampo is aware of the enormity of crossing this legal and political bridge. Appointed in 2003 for a nine-year period, the 57-year-old Argentinian has—so far—established a record of cautious jurisprudence.

Mr. Ocampo is famous in his home country for prosecuting military juntas as well as starring in a reality program where he adjudicated private disputes. And in his first six years at the ICC, he pursued real evildoers. He indicted Ugandan rebel Joseph Kony, militia leaders from the Congo and Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir, responsible for the genocide in Darfur. Yet collecting information about possible war crimes by American soldiers smacks of just the sort of politicized prosecution critics of the ICC had always warned about.

Mr. Ocampo remained tight-lipped about the specifics of his preliminary examination. Asked whether waterboarding—a practice that simulates drowning without causing lasting physical harm—is a form of torture produced a telling "no comment." Yet if the Obama administration considers this practice torture, one has to wonder if the ICC's chief prosecutor would give it his stamp of approval.

There is also the issue of whether Predator strikes of unmanned drones targeting terrorist leaders in Afghanistan and Pakistan—as carried out in the very first week of the Obama presidency—are part of the bombings he's looking into. Mr. Ocampo chuckled and answered evasively. "We have people around the world concerned about this," he said, and when pressed, added, "Whatever the gravest war crimes are that have been committed, we have to check."

"Gravest" is the operative word here. The court was established to "end impunity for the perpetrators of the most serious crimes of concern to the international community," as stated on the ICC's Web site. This would suggest that even if U.S. soldiers have committed war crimes by the prosecutor's definition, the ICC would have no reason to get involved as those transgressions would surely be insignificant compared to the butchery in places like Sudan or Congo.

Mr. Ocampo's own words, though, suggested that he disagrees. I asked him if he was going to prosecute the worst crimes in his jurisdiction or the worst crimes in a particular case, such as Afghanistan, irrespective of how they compare to crimes around the world. He paused before answering.

"Normally," he said (another pause) "we select situations which are grave, for instance when I choose. . . ." Mr. Ocampo didn't finish the sentence, sighed and began afresh: "Both [scenarios] are right. Normally, we open investigations in the worst situation in the world and in some cases [countries] we investigate the worst situation."

This is an expansive and controversial interpretation of the court's mandate, one that may put an end to the debate about whether former President George W. Bush, fearing just such judicial activism, was justified in unsigning the Rome Statute his predecessor, Bill Clinton, had endorsed. Although the prosecutor's preliminary examination may not result in a formal investigation of Americans, the mere potential of a legal confrontation between the court in The Hague and Washington should be disconcerting to the White House, not to mention to all Americans.

In any event, the ICC's very existence is already changing the way Western nations fights wars. Mr. Ocampo recounted how a legal adviser to NATO told him that troops these days are trained to realize that, in case of transgressions, they could be arrested and brought to the ICC on war crimes charges with the help of evidence provided by NATO itself.

"That is the new world," Mr. Ocampo said proudly. I asked the obvious follow-up. "If this is the 'new world,' why do you bother collecting information about NATO and U.S. troops in Afghanistan?" Why, in other words, when his task is to end the impunity for the worst war crimes, does he spend his limited resources on the most advanced democracies in the world—which operate under strict rules of engagement, have their own chain-of-command investigations and swift prosecution of criminals? Mr. Ocampo got slightly irritated.

"You are suggesting that we are a court only for the Third World. That's what the Arab world said about Bashir, that we are using double standards," he explained. "I said no, I prosecute whoever is in my jurisdiction. I cannot allow that we are a court just for the Third World. If the First World commits crimes, they have to investigate, if they don't, I shall investigate. That's the rule and we have one rule for everyone."

Mr. Ocampo—who has a photo of himself with the head of the Arab League, Amr Moussa, on his windowsill—could have pointed out to his Arab interlocutors that the real double standard was their own complaining about alleged Western aggression against Muslims while they protect Sudan's Bashir, the greatest butcher of Muslims in modern history. The fact that Mr. Ocampo mentioned the Sudanese perpetrator of genocide in the same breath with alleged crimes of NATO soldiers shed light on what the International Criminal Court may have in store for the U.S. in the future.

Obama: Islam's best friend and our worst enemy

This is an excellent analysis of
how Obama and his administration
of racists and Jew haters have
aided Islam and Islamofascism as
many predicted he would. It will
only get worse.

"Gving enemy combatant war criminals, captured abroad, U.S.
Constitutional rights  and privileges--and a platform for spreading
Islamist propaganda--is an unspeakable  act for which Obama
should be impeached."

Impeachment? Now that would be REAL
hope and change!

Bowing down to
the pig king of Saudia Arabia

From China Confidential

Obama's One Achievement: Helping Islamist Cause

It isn't true that America's most left-wing-ever President has achieved nothing since taking power in January 2009. He has achieved a great deal--for radical Islam.

The first Muslim-born and-reared President of the United States has helped the Islamist (clerical fascist) cause to a degree that has confirmed some of the worst fears and suspicions of his detractors and critics.

First and foremost, Obama has given Islamist Iran nearly one additional year to develop nuclear weapons. Under cover of a policy of engagement (code for appeasement), Obama tried to enter into a Grand Bargain with Iran for the pacification of Afghanistan and Pakistan. The envisioned arrangement, which recalled the Great Game between imperial rivals Russia and Britain, would have guaranteed the security of Tehran's turbaned tyranny for decades to come; in return for face-saving progress on the nuclear issue, the U.S. would have agreed to no longer even dare to think about regime change in Iran. Although the deal seems to have died in the aftermath of Iran's phony Islamist election and bloody crackdown on protest and dissent--which Obama tacitly assisted by abandoning the democracy-seekers in their hour of need--he has persisted in "giving Iran time" to achieve its atomic aims. Engagement is sacrosanct in Obamaworld; dialogue and diplomacy are ends unto themselves.

Second, Obama has dithered on Afghanistan while indicating a willingness to engage (appease) so-called reconcilable elements of the resurgent, Al Qaeda-connected Taliban--leaving Al Qaeda itself as the only Islamist group with which the U.S. is apparently still unwilling to negotiate.

Second, Obama has effectively validated Islamist ideology by becoming the first U.S. President to formally address the "Muslim world," seemingly seeing himself as its de facto leader, in competition with Al Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden. Obama's unprecedented outreach to an inherently intolerant and violent religion elevated it to the level of a transnational superpower. His Cairo speech gave currency to all sorts of dangerously antidemocratic Islamist/Muslim myths. In comments to the press, Obama has lied about the importance, size, and historical contributions of the U.S. Muslim population. He has also reached out to the Muslim Brotherhood, which gave birth to Al Qaeda, pointedly inviting its officials to attend his Cairo address, even though they threaten Egypt's secular nationalist government. In further deference to the Brotherhood and its official and semi-official offshoots, including various U.S. entities, Obama has backed barbaric burqa-wearing in France, in opposition to an ally's determination to defend its secular, democratic traditions and ideals in the face of a Muslim/Islamist invasion that threatens the long-term survival of France and all of Europe.

Third, Obama has intervened in Turkey, covertly and overtly, on behalf of its crypto-Islamist government. He has aggressively backed Turkey's bid for EU membership, even though the U.S. is not an EU member and has no place taking a position on the controversial issue, while signaling support for the steady Islamizing of a once staunchly secular nation. Thanks to Obama's visit to Turkey and subsequent moves, its military can no longer be relied upon to defend the secular system; and Turkey is shredding its strategically important (to the U.S.) relationship with Israel in favor of an alarming, new Tehran-Ankara axis.

In addition to the above achievements, Obama has helped Hamas and Hezbollah and Iran and Syria to further isolate and delegitimize Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East and a key U.S. ally. Obama has relentlessly pressured Israel to withdraw to indefensible borders in order to make possible the creation of a Palestinian state in the disputed West Bank lands--with Jerusalem as its capital. That the Palestinian state is most likely to be ruled by Hamas and serve as a springboard for the conquest of both Israel and Jordan is apparently immaterial in the eyes of the Obama White House and State Department.

Last but by no means least, Obama has helped the Islamist cause by downgrading the war against it to the level of a law enforcement challenge ... to the point of allowing his Islamist-appeasing Attorney General to bring Al Qaeda war criminals, including the self-proclaimed mastermind of 9/11 and murderer of American Jewish journalist Daniel Pearl, to New York City for civilian court trials. Giving enemy combatant war criminals, captured abroad, U.S. Constitutional rights and privileges--and a platform for spreading Islamist propaganda--is an unspeakable act for which Obama should be impeached. The incredibly costly and time consuming trial is sure to turn into a media circus and a security nightmare for New York residents, businesses, and institutions, increasing the chances of Islamist terrorist attacks, including mega-attacks with weapons of mass destruction, Mumbai-style, swarming attacks, and Major Hasan-style strikes by lone, jihadist gunmen and suicide bombers. New York's Jewish community--the world's largest outside of Israel--will be most endangered. Its synagogues, schools, organizations and community centers will be targets for Islamists seeking to free the Al Qaeda defendants.

KSM Trial a Boon to al Qaeda « The Enterprise Blog

This may show the global
community how 'fair' we have
become when it comes to
prosecuting those who have
murdered Americans. This is
a move that will further weaken
our intelligence agencies and our
military. The traitor in chief does
not have a clue what this will do
us as a country. How many more
millions of taxpayers money will
be wasted on this loser and his
fellow terrorists?

KSM Trial a Boon to al Qaeda

By John Yoo

November 13, 2009, 3:13 pm Trying Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in civilian court will be an intelligence bonanza for al Qaeda, tie up our courts for years on issues best left to the president and Congress, and further cripple our intelligence agencies’ efforts to fight terrorists abroad.

KSM and his co-defendants will have all of the benefits and rights that the U.S. Constitution accords those who live here, most importantly the right to demand that the government produce in open court all of the information that it has on them, and how it was obtained.

Arrested spies commonly use this right to get a better deal out of the government, which will want to avoid opening up its intelligence sources and methods on KSM, what information it got from him, and what else it knows about his fellow al Qaeda operatives.

Finding out what the U.S. intelligence agencies know about al Qaeda will be an incalculable boon to the terrorist organization, which will be able to drop plans and personnel it knows are compromised, and push harder in areas we appear to know nothing about.

Our intelligence agents and military personnel will now have to conduct their capture of the enemy—often in battlefield conditions—under all of the strictures that apply to arrests of garden-variety criminals in the United States. Knowing that al Qaeda leaders may be tried in court, our soldiers and agents will have to gather evidence at the scene of “arrest” and secure it to the standards of a civilian court, all while entering a hostile environment, protecting their own personnel, and leaving without casualties.

This is no idle prediction. All one has to do is look at what happened in the trial of Zacarias Moussaoui, the twentieth hijacker who was captured before 9/11 in the United States—his desire to learn how to take off but not land jetliners while at flight school tipped off the FBI. His trial never reached a single proceeding before a jury, and he tied up the court in knots for four years (the case had to go back and forth between the trial and appellate courts several times), because he too demanded that the government produce all of its intelligence on him in public. The only reason the trial ended was because Moussaoui decided to plead guilty at the last minute. KSM, his co-defendants, and their lawyers will not save the government from itself this time, and our intelligence agents and soldiers will be the ones to suffer.

Is Obama a Muslim? Watch this and you decide.

Take a look at this video and draw
your own conclusions. Quite nasty
and shameful on the one's part. It
leaves no doubt to whom and to
where his sympathies are aligned
with. I thought this was worth a look
after what has taken place at Fort
Hood. Obama does not want us to
jump to conclusions about the killer,
Hasan or his ties to Islam. Here is a tip
for you, Obama. Islam is Jihad and
Jihad is built into Islam. Jihad is Jihad
and Islam is Jihad. Obama is a fool and
a traitor.

For The Newcomers At The Snooper Report:

NOTE: This will be at the top of the page until November 1, 2009

For all of you that come by this way unannounced, search engines or email accounts, or just passing through, I want all the Newcomers to know that you are welcome here. I also want you to know one thing...

Obama is a liar, a jerk and bumbling idiot. If you voted for him, YOU have some explaining to do.

Obama wants to give the Sovereignty of this Nation over to the United Nations. Why? Because he is a bumbling idiot. That's why.

Obama wants to perhaps send Troops to Afghanistan only after their run off elections in the politics of Afghanistan will be taken care of November 7th. Why? Because he is a lying ass.

Obama wants to give the Taliban a position in the Aghanistan government. Why? Because he is a complete and total jerk.

Obama says that all Republicans do what they are told to do and doesn't tell anyone that the Democrats do what they are told to do. Why? Because he is a blithering dolt.

Obama says that the United States Constitution doesn't "go far enough" for "social justice". Why? Because he wouldn't know what a Constitutional Issue was if it bit him in his UNNATURALIZED CITIZEN'S ass. That's why.

At this point, I would like to inform the Newscomers here at The Snooper Report one more thing...

Obama is a liar, a jerk and bumbling idiot. If you voted for him, YOU have some explaining to do.

I want Obama to FAIL and FAIL HARD in all avenues he so chooses to take. Why? Because he is a blithering idiot. I want him to FAIL and FAIL HARD. Why? Because the country will last longer when Obama FAILS and FAILS HARD. That's why.

Obama loves George Soros. Why? Because BOTH are Marxist scumbags. That's why.

So, just so all Newcomers will know in all things at The Snooper Report:

Obama is a liar, a jerk and bumbling idiot. If you voted for him, YOU have some explaining to do.

This is REALLY interesting. I wonder if someone has already read this piece...

Purple Avenger at Ace: WaPo's Ruth Marcus: Obama admin "dumb", "weak", "small", "childish", "petty", "Nixonian"

If a reliable liberal like Marcus isn't going to buy in and drink the KoolAid, one wonders what the hell the White house is thinking with this current campaign to shun Fox. They're playing to the 20% dead-ender Obama zombies, and the middle (already fleeing Obama in droves) is sitting there wondering WTF? Are they on drugs?

OOPS!

Update on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 9:21AM by Mark "Snooper" Harvey

I decided to add this "really old" I Am Loyal Democrat and we can also include I Am Loyal Democrat In Drag.

In Michelle Malkin's CLASSIC item in regards to the suing Imams (see two posts below) , this was one of the replies and it will go down in the Wall Of Fame in Blogdom!

PRICELESS!!

I Am A Loyal Democrat

I am Loyal Democrat.

I will take the side of any entity that declares itself to be an enemy of the United States. I will consider any action taken by my government to be improper, and defend the position of any nation that opposes my own. I will not stand by while the concepts of freedom and liberty are allowed to infect the thoughts of repressed peoples. Rather, I will combat such efforts and convince the slaves of dictatorships that they have it better than anyone else.

I am Loyal Democrat.

I will tell all Americans that they had 9/11 coming as retribution for all of our evil deeds inflicted upon members of the most peaceful religion on earth. I will work to undermine any effort to destroy the Islamic tidal wave of terror that has vowed to wash onto our beaches. I will strive to weaken our military as it attempts to carry out its mission overseas. I shall encourage total surrender to any foe that threatens us.

I am Loyal Democrat.

I shall stir up domestic unrest by separating my fellow citizens into groups, and then I will encourage each group to distrust the next, and convince each that I am their one true friend. Through this magnificent deception, I will rule them all. I will convince minorities that they are inferior, and that they need my special help to succeed in life. Once I have them suspicious of others and fully demoralized, I will keep them down, and make their every gain dependent on what I decide to let them do. I shall oppress minorites worse than any avowed racist could ever hope to.

I am Loyal Democrat.

I will make every effort to criticize people that achieve, to hinder those that aspire, and ridicule those that display self-worth. In spite of my lack of personal merit, I will elevate myself in the eyes of others by bringing people with actual character down. I will prey on people's envy of others' success, and I will gain undeserved power as a result. I will take from those that earn until they lose the motivation to build up mankind any longer.

I am Loyal Democrat.

I will promote the tyranny of socialism, and crush the only economic system that has advanced mankind. And when we are all financially destitute and controlled by an omnipotent government, I shall laugh at the destruction I have wrought, for I truly hate mankind.

I am Loyal Democrat.
