Environazis want to ban lead from bullets and fishing weights

My disdain for the environmentalists grows worse with each report, petition or suit that is filed, costing this country jobs, and much more. I am all for saving some old growth forests, cleaning up our water, air and soil but these far left environazis keep on taking one little piece after another. We cannot even drill, dam, or mine anymore, it seems. The seeds that were planted in the late 1950s and during the 1960s, 1970s have sprouted into evil organizations, lobbyists and domestic terrorist groups like Earth First!

Now comes this petition to ban lead in bullets and fishing weights. The two groups that submitted this petition state they are not anti-fishing or anti-hunting. Yeah, sure, and I am liberal who voted for the mullah in the White House, wants open borders, amnesty and all 2nd amendment rights made against the law. This is another attempt by this administration to strip away out 2nd amendment rights. I live about 15 miles away from the Nosler Manufacturing  Company.  Nosler produces some of the best ammunition and guns in the world. After hearing about this they went on record against these petitions and warned that they would result in lost jobs, increased costs for ammunition and guns. As to the petitions themselves? There has been no direct scientific evidence that lead from bullets and fishing weights is causing an environmental problem anywhere. From Chattanoogan.com. They want to take our guns away, and the demosocialistacrats will do this any way they can.

Groups Petition EPA to Remove Lead from Hunting, Fishing

A coalition of groups lead by the American Bird Conservancy (ABC) and the Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) has petitioned the Environmental Protection Agency to ban "Lead Shot, Bullets and Fishing Sinkers" under the Toxic Substances Control Act.

Their formal petition gives the EPA 90 days to decide whether or not to ban the "manufacture, professing and distribution in commerce of lead shot, bullets and fishing sinkers." The petition says that while the government has implemented regulations to reduce exposure of human beings to lead in a variety of applications, lead ammunition and lost lead fishing tackle are "uncontrolled and lead remains widely encountered and distributed in the environment from these sources." The petition lists "significant" amounts of lead that end up in aquatic environments from lost or discarded fishing tackle, including lures, sinkers, lead core fishing line, downrigger cannonballs, weights, and a variety of fishing traps and nets that employ the use of lead.

With the wide variety of non-lead, nontoxic replacements for fishing tackle and firearms projectiles, the petition asks that the EPA mandate the removal of lead from those applications.

In a teleconference regarding their petition yesterday, representatives from the two groups stressed that their petition was not anti-hunting or fishing. Rather, they characterized their action as purely environmental.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation has taken exception with that characterization, calling the petition another assault on traditional ammo and fishing tackle.

Radical Environmentalism and the death of millions. Hard to believe? Please, read on...

Who has been responsible for more deaths than Stalin, Hitler, maybe even Islam? That is quite a reach but having read the book mentioned in this next feed, the argument made is quite compelling. Rachel Carson's 1962 block buster book, Silent Spring was one of the first attacks on life as we used to know it. Was it a perfect world? If course not but how many lives has the movement of Radical Environmentalism cost? Read this article from Doctor Zero and see it this evil movement for what it is. Rachel carson knew what she was doing when she wrote Silent Spring. Too bad so many people back then and today hold this book in such high esteem.

I worked with many of the pesticides mentioned in Silent Spring. My friends and myself worked in the citrus groves in Southern California from the early 1960's up to the early 1970's when I left that region for good. Used correctly, with proper safety in mind, most of these chemicals were safe for what they were prescribed for. I am still here and so are almost all of my friends. The ones I have lost did not die from any of the above.

The Green Death

Doctor Zero

Who is the worst killer in the long, ugly history of war and extermination? Hitler? Stalin? Pol Pot? Not even close. A single book called Silent Spring killed far more people than all those fiends put together.

Published in 1962, Silent Spring used manipulated data and wildly exaggerated claims (sound familiar?) to push for a worldwide ban on the pesticide known as DDT – which is, to this day, the most effective weapon against malarial mosquitoes. The Environmental Protection Agency held extensive hearings after the uproar produced by this book… and these hearings concluded that DDT should not be banned. A few months after the hearings ended, EPA administrator William Ruckleshaus over-ruled his own agency and banned DDT anyway, in what he later admitted was a “political” decision. Threats to withhold American foreign aid swiftly spread the ban across the world.

The resulting explosion of mosquito-borne malaria in Africa has claimed over sixty million lives. This was not a gradual process – a surge of infection and death happened almost immediately. The use of DDT reduces the spread of mosquito-borne malaria by fifty to eighty percent, so its discontinuation quickly produced an explosion of crippling and fatal illness. The same environmental movement which has been falsifying data, suppressing dissent, and reading tea leaves to support the global-warming fraud has studiously ignored this blood-drenched “hockey stick” for decades.

The motivation behind Silent Spring, the suppression of nuclear power, the global-warming scam, and other outbreaks of environmentalist lunacy is the worship of centralized power and authority. The author, Rachel Carson, didn’t set out to kill sixty million people – she was a fanatical believer in the newly formed religion of radical environmentalism, whose body count comes from callousness, rather than blood thirst. The core belief of the environmental religion is the fundamental uncleanliness of human beings. All forms of human activity are bad for the environment… most especially including the activity of large private corporations. Deaths in faraway Africa barely registered on the radar screen of the growing Green movement, especially when measured against the exhilarating triumph of getting a sinful pesticide banned, at substantial cost to an evil corporation.

Those who were initiated into the higher mysteries of environmentalism saw the reduction of the human population as a benefit, although they’re generally more circumspect about saying so in public these days. As quoted by Walter Williams, the founder of the Malthusian Club of Rome, Alexander King, wrote in 1990: “My own doubts came when DDT was introduced. In Guayana, within two years, it had almost eliminated malaria. So my chief quarrel with DDT, in hindsight, is that it has greatly added to the population problem.” Another charming quote comes from Dr. Charles Wurster, a leading opponent of DDT, who said of malaria deaths: “People are the cause of all the problems. We have too many of them. We need to get rid of some of them, and this is as good a way as any.”
