Freeman Center For Strategic Studies: Early reports from TV satellite feeds from the Muslim flotilla show six ships from Turkey, intending to run the naval blockade established by Israel to prevent any ships possibly carrying weapons from reaching the Hamas in Gaza. 600 mixed nationals were aboard the lead Turkish vessel, the Marmora. These so-called Islamic "activists" were intent on provoking a violent confrontation to be used in real time as a propaganda feed to the world media.
Some will recall other ships directly from Iran and Syria, flying false flags, that were intercepted by Israel bearing heavy military cargo bound for the Gaza Terrorists that comprise Hamas’ Paramilitary. Although Turkey and the ships' captains had been repeatedly warned of the naval blockade, they pulled up anchors near Cyprus and headed for the blockade. Turkey later claimed that the ships were intercepted in international waters, forgetting that they themselves acted as co-conspirators by breaking any concept of "International Waters" with their deliberate acts of aggression in running through a blockade established against Terror by Sea.
Israel used helicopters and rapelled Commandos down onto the six ships. Their mistake was that the Commandos came down one at a time, exposing each single man to be mobbed by the hostiles once having reached to deck. The 600 mixed nationals on the Turkish Marmora were the hard-core of international Palestinian agitprop against Israel.
The Israeli Naval Commandos were armed with paint ball rifles which hurt a little. They also had real side arms. When each commando arrived singly, he was swarmed by some of the gang of about 60 hostiles on the deck who beat him with iron bars, axes, knives and clubs. Some Israelis were critically wounded until a sufficient number had descended to fight the mob. Their paint-ball rifles (which were mostly for show) were taken from their hands. In a few cases, their side arms were also taken and used against them. The order was finally given for the Israelis to use those side arms in their own self-defense and nine of the attacking hostile mob were killed.
The other five ships were secured without any conflict, demonstrating that the lead ship was clearly intended as the "show-boat" and provocateur for the cameras. The flotilla of six incoming ships from Turkey and anchored off of Cyprus had several designated missions. The first was a well-propagandized clashed with the Israeli Navy. The underlying theme was that the Muslim Arab Palestinians of Gaza, under control of Hamas, were deprived of food, medicine and essentials.

However, the Israelis have published their daily manifests of cargo listing food, fuel and all the other necessities of life that had been trucked into Gaza in a steady stream in tonnage. This was observed by the U.N., invited media and diplomats of various countries.
The Gaza markets have been well stocked for a some time for any shoppers or journalists ready to report the truth. Regrettably, the media rarely bothered to report this abundance in their countries of origin.
However, they did dutifully repeat the false claims of shortages where none existed. I grant you that Israel did restrict somewhat the import of cement when it was confirmed that Hamas in Gaza were using the cement not for homes but deep fortifications and tunnels in preparation for future wars. It was reported that construction materials, especially cement, were on the other 5 ships.
The Propaganda angle of this operation would have been admired by Josef Goebbels, Adolph Hitler’s leading propagandist. The planners installed live feed satellite TV on the incoming flotilla of ships to project their intended clash to Global TV, print and Internet media.
It did not matter what form the provoked clash would take as long as there was violent action in the confrontation to broadcast. The Israelis had no choice but to follow through with prior warning to the small convoy to either stop, turn around or off-load their cargo in Ashdod to be inspected and trans-shipped to Gaza.
Egypt also offered to receive the incoming ships at el-Arish and transport their cargo to Gaza. But, these offers were refused because delivering to so-called (and unneeded) humanitarian aid was NOT the purpose of this operation.
This operation was pure propaganda - which, I must say, has been used before by Islamists from other countries as well as the Muslim Arab Palestinians under Hamas control in Gaza and under the Palestinian Authority of Mahmoud Abbas in Judea and Samaria.
I must also say that Israel may have the worst information mechanism when it comes to countering professional agit-prop (propaganda used by agitators) with excellent results. Over time Israel has invariably used pertinent information too little, too late and to inarticulate when it comes to informing the world media in real time of the true facts in the ongoing 100+ year old conflict by Muslims against all non-Muslims (what they call "Infidels"). Regrettably, I don’t think this will ever change. (Agreed with, and sadly so. I must agree with the author's assesment here. PatriotUSA)
Israel allowed the Arabic Media resource, al-Jazeera and other key news outlets to get their version out first and then 10 hours later, Israel started to speak - mostly in Hebrew, not easily understood by the World Media.
We noted one exception this morning. The BBC (usually - almost always) has been notoriously biased in their reporting against Israel - as has NPR (National Public Radio). However, at 9 AM EDT May 31st, they broadcast a full 15 minutes, giving Danny Ayalon, former Israeli Ambassador to America - now Deputy Foreign Minister and Mark Regev, the government spokesman formerly under the Kadima government and now for the government of Binyamin Netanyahu. Ayalon and Regev gave excellent summations of the events, given the short time allocated by the BBC. However, they were dutifully followed by the head of this anti-Israel blockade based in Cyprus who fulminated vociferously against Israel. That was the BBC and NPR being "fair and balanced".
As expected FOX NEWS gave a straight forward report on what had happened. CNN through Ben Weidman did his usual Leftist Arabist slant, speaking of the needed supplies, including wheelchairs, although he admitted that he and other journalists had not been allowed near the ships or the passengers being interrogated - although Mark Regev mentioned that some journalists had been imbedded with the Israeli Naval Commandos.
So, what will the Arab Muslim propagandists expect to gain out of this premeditated clash?
First, the live-feed on TV will be shown in most nations with the most negative view possible expressed by hostile news anchors.
Then, expect pre-arranged riots to "spontaneously" erupt as they already have in Turkey where conveniently gathered mobs tried to attack the Israeli Embassy. Good footage will show the enraged mob to incite the rest of the Turks, especially the Turkish Muslims. (Note! Turkey has moved very close to Iran and has distanced itself from Israel. It’s their loss.)
The extraordinarily hostile U.N. Security Council has been brought into emergency session. Given that its members are already high on the list of radical pro-Muslim nations, their representatives had already been informed and prepped to respond to the pre-arranged clash.
It is expected that the intensely hostile countries - besides the ever-present Arab Bloc - will condemn Israel and call for international punishment. Any reasonable explanation, even with full audio-visual presentations of the actual battle, the stocked groceries and hospitals of Gaza, the number of medical needs attended to by Israeli doctors of patients driven to Israeli hospitals, the numbers of Arab Muslim doctors in those hospitals who treat Jewish Israelis, the humanitarian aid actually shipped to Gaza daily.....none of this real live truth will penetrate the intended agit-propaganda dished out by the 23 Muslim Arab countries, the 32 other Muslim countries - and those other countries who support them. Any reasonable explanation by Israel will, of course, either be ignored or simply rejected.
We will await the Obama regime to proclaim its disapproval through Hillary Clinton and the Arabist U.S. State Department. (Note!) They are totally aware of the shipments of heavy arms, including rockets and missiles, going into Gaza from both sea, land and tunnels from Egypt. The cement demanded by the Gazan Hamas goes to construct and reinforce these tunnels. The "tunnel-trade" is very lucrative in Gaza.(Already done, and she makes me sick)
As the propaganda goes out, it is expected the usual mobs will flood the streets of Iran, Syria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and those countries in Europe who are acquiring great majorities of Muslim immigrants - in an effort to kick-start a salvo of missiles into Northern Israel coming from Hezb’Allah in Lebanon and Rockets launched from Hamas in Gaza into Southern Israel.(Typical mussie behavior and look at how the MSM eats those protests up!)
The U.N., E.U., Russia and U.S....i.e., the Quartet, will likely immediately demand Israeli "restraint" to NOT respond to these inevitable attacks - for which the flotilla violence was designed to prep the scene.
The BIG question is: Will Iran and Syria use this as their excuse to launch a saturation missile attack this summer?
It was reported that Israel had offered to fly back to their nations of origin all passengers once they identified themselves. The problem was that they had been told to throw their passports and ID into the water so some will spend some time in a few prisons before repatriation.
There is not one nation who is condemning Israel who would allow a flotilla of ships with pre-proclaimed hostile intentions to enter their waters - let alone dock and off-load uninspected cargo and possible Terrorists. Not one Arab or Muslim country - not one European country - not America, especially with the possibility of Nuclear, Biological or Chemical devices in the shipping containers.
This will not, however, stop the notorious U.N. Security Council nor the Leftist Media from putting their spin on the facts in order to condemn Israel. Hopefully, one day Israel will learn to pre-empt such hostile actions by releasing the facts before the Arabs or Europeans spin the news first.
Hopefully, Prime Minister Netanyahu will not cave in to the provocation. He was in Canada and was supposed to go on to Washington to meet with President Barack Hussein Obama. He has canceled this trip and returned to Israel. Clearly, the timing of the clash was a well-planned and coordinated hustle to advance the pressure for Israel to surrender Judea, Samaria, the Golan Heights, two-thirds of Israel’s fresh water resources and those parts of Jerusalem illegally occupied and desecrated by Jordan for 19 years from 1948 to 1967 - including North, South and East Jerusalem with many of Israel’s holiest ancient Jewish heritage sites.
More will follow but, please send this to your local media and TV news anchors. Clearly, this provocation is a well-planned hustle to advance the Muslim Palestinians’ demands under pressure from the world’s nations.
