American Thinker Blog: Planned Parenthood official has eyes opened on abortion
This is a very powerful story.
One that melds one's belief
in God, life and the backing
of science. I have found that
arguing with most pro-choice
people to useless. Once the
value and PROOF from science
that life does begin at conception
is brought into the discussion the
pro-choicers terminate the
discussion or start yelling and
losing control. I have argued my postion,
backed with science for many years.
Add Abby Johnson as one more person
who has had their heart and soul changed,
for the better. You will find the article below.

Planned Parenthood official has eyes opened on abortion
C. Edmund Wright
The Director of the Bryan, Texas Planned Parenthood clinic has just foresworn further involvement in abortion. After eight years as an employee of Planned Parenthood and two years as Director of the Bryan clinic, Abby Johnson viewed an ultra-sound video of an abortion
Johnson went on to say that "I don't have this burden on me anymore. That's how I know this conversion was a spiritual conversion."
As reported last August, in the Archdiocese of New York, Cardinal Egan, used science and not scripture to make a powerful and somewhat ironically pointed pro-life argument in response to Obama's "pay grade" comment at Saddleback and other comments by Nancy Pelosi. At the time, it was posited in AT that these remarks from Egan -- clearly aimed at Obama and Pelosi -- might in fact be a game changer on abortion:
"We are blessed in the 21st century with crystal-clear photographs and action films of the living realities within their pregnant mothers. No one with the slightest measure of integrity or honor could fail to know what these marvelous beings manifestly, clearly and obviously are, as they smile and wave into the world outside the womb."
Of course, neither Obama nor Pelosi have yet discovered these crystal-clear films and reached Egan's description of people "with the slightest measure of integrity or honor."
I can only imagine that Cardinal Egan must be smiling at this news. For years I have debated with pro-life friends -- and I too am pro-life -- that science and not the Bible was the key to winning the hearts and minds in the battle over abortion. While I also believe in the Bible, it was precisely the scriptures where Paul uses logic instead of scripture in some of his teaching that inspired this idea. One can infer that Cardinal Egan agrees. The story of Abby Johnson of Bryan, Texas stands as a powerful testament to this principle.
