Boycott Campbells' Soup and their other products

I just removed 18 cans of Campbell's Soup from our pantry and gave it to our local food bank. I just could not bring myself to toss the cans into the garbage with high unemployment rate here and all the food banks running short of inventory. Oops, I forgot. The recession was over in June 2009. Please make sure to share this as this is a product that is found in so many homes, plus all the other products Campbell's makes. The ISNA has ties to terrorism. The Mayor of Dearbornistan, Michigan responds to my and many others emails.

Many of you have read and heard about the 'Middle Eastern Festival' in Dearbornistan, Michigan. Dearbornistan is home to one of the largest populations of Muslims in the United States. I recently sent an email to the mayor's office about this so called 'festival' and the problems that Islam and Muslims will and are causing in his fair city. In typical islamist fashion, this is the letter I got in return to my email. This was a response that was sent to many people in defense of the 'festival.' Read it and draw your own conclusions. The Mayor is quite ignorant of Islam and sharia law and he has been eating up the 'taqiyya' as a good little dhimmi stooge should. Knowing your enemy is the first step in defeating them. No wonder the Muslims like it in Dearbornsitan so much. The response is quite long so it will be the main post for the night. Might be a couple of others, we will see. I asked the mayor in my email if Jews were at the festival and asked for a specific response to that question. Notice that the response just states all faiths from Dearbronistan. In fairness to the Mayor, some of what he is stating may be true but what is quite obvious here is that when Muslims behave badly in public, hardly anything is ever said about it, or done about it. Let a few Christians go to an 'Arab Festival' in a pretty peaceful way and ask a few questions, they get treated badly by the followers of Islam and the city of Dearbornistan. The vidoes I have watched by the Acts 17 Apologetics show a very different story. This was an Islamic taqiyya festival at best. This is Islam whitewashed, once again. The good mayor does not see that the qur'an, Islam and those who follow it infringe on people's rights, liberty, freedom. He does not understand that Islam is a cradel to grave ideology. Please consider the following before condemning us


The City of Dearborn has been under attack for several years by a group identifying themselves as Acts 17 Apologetics. They arrive in Dearborn with the intent to disrupt a local cultural festival and misrepresent facts in order to further their mission of raising funds through emotional response. The funds they raise are then used to finance travel and cameras to disrupt other events in other cities. In our case, the targeted event is not about the Muslim faith or its believers. It is a Middle Eastern cultural festival sponsored by a Chamber of Commerce and a local charitable service organization. Neither of these two entities have a religious alignment.

Like events in cities all over our nation, this festival has a variety of entertainment and interests, including rides, games, performances, foods, souvenirs, and community information. Also like other events, it relies on sponsorships and fees to cover its costs. Large tents are set up to house organizations and businesses that want to have access to the thousands of people attending this event. These groups pay a modest fee for the privilege and are allowed to carry out their activity in an assigned space within the tents. There is no restriction placed on any lawful activity carried out in this manner, including preaching the word of God. This past year, five Christian organizations and two Muslim organizations chose this lawful method of reaching the attendees. This is similar to past years and there has never been a problem or controversy about this type of preaching or religious engagement. The total number of table vendors at the festival exceeds eighty, so these seven faith-based groups represent a relatively small aspect of the festival.

In all the materials released by Acts 17 Apologetics they have failed to mention this manner of preaching and evidencing the teaching of Jesus Christ, even though they have been offered the same opportunity each year. In addition to the booths, we have a free speech zone at the festival for those that want free access to the festival to promote their message. This space was utilized this past year by two different Christian groups who were allowed to preach and proselytize the entire weekend without any interference. Acts 17 Apologetics did not mention this either, even though they were within 30 feet of this space when they pretended to be arrested. Yes, I said pretended to be arrested. In a video they have posted on their website, they are standing near the Ferris wheel when some police officers approached them on Saturday, June 19. They lead you to believe that they were arrested shortly thereafter for passing out Christian flyers. Although they were temporarily detained for violating the festival rules regarding the location of the distribution of literature, they were not arrested on that day. And they were never arrested for passing out flyers.

On Friday, June 18, they behaved very differently than what you saw on film from Saturday, June 19. They were not handing out flyers but were aggressively engaging passers-by in confrontational debate when they were arrested and cited for Breach of the Peace and Failure to Obey the Lawful Order of a Police Officer. See www.cityofdearborn.org for more details. Acts 17 always retained the right to carry out their activities in a lawful manner at the festival. The video taken on Saturday illustrates that the group returned to the festival after the four arrests on Friday.

Acts 17 Apologetics has been at the Arab Festival in past years and is well aware of the written policy with regard to crowd control. They are also aware of a federal court decision in favor of the Dearborn policy of controlled access to the festival site. This is standard practice at events all over the country. A site is identified and authorized by the government entity as a special event site. In the case of the Arab Festival, it is a number of commercial blocks between the rear alley accesses behind the
businesses on either side of the commercial road. Despite knowing this, Acts 17 Apologetics lead the viewers of the distorted video to believe that they are on public sidewalks. For the duration of the three-day event, the public sidewalks in front of the stores and businesses in the event district are no longer “public” in terms of the application of the First Amendment. They are in an area controlled to protect public safety during the event because of the extreme number of people occupying a space that was never intended to support that much activity. The court decisions protect every community that must balance personal freedom with the need to provide public safety during an unusual situation. At the time he was arrested on Friday, June 18, Mr. Wood had gathered a large crowd around him, blocking a key access point between the tents. The crowd was forced to grow bigger solely because people could not pass. Those who created this public danger did so with the knowledge that they were violating the laws because they wanted to be arrested while their cohorts were actively recording the event for posting on the web. They knew that they could inflame the passions of viewers who would be taken in by their misrepresentation of what was really going on. They have even found media that would put them on air to repeat these inaccurate representations without seeking information or the truth from others.

It makes a good news story to say that a community is infringing on peoples’ rights especially when it is couched in the true bias of generating negative feelings about another religion. The real violation of First Amendment rights occurs with Acts 17 Apologetics trying to imply they were the victim when the real violation is their attack on the City of Dearborn for having tolerance for all religions including believers in the Koran.

Dearborn is a true American City that welcomes everyone in the full spirit of our great constitution. We are a community of faith that is dedicated to the welfare of everyone whether resident or guest. These gross misrepresentations have caused us to come together in a stronger way. Almost a year ago, after earlier attacks by Acts 17 Apologetics on Dearborn, I hosted a meeting with the Dearborn Area Ministerial Association (DAMA), a group of mostly Christian religious leaders, but inclusive of all faiths in Dearborn. I asked them to review the video from the 2009 festival, examine the facts and measure the impact on our community. The discussion was frank and sincere. They released their statement only after trying to contact Acts 17 Apologetics to engage them in a discussion of how to achieve the goal of converting others to Christ. They were unsuccessful in getting a response from Acts 17. The truth is Christian evangelists are active at the Arab Festival. They participate in lawful ways. While many are local, some, like world renowned minister and author Josh McDowell, come to the festival because it offers a large number of people who can be engaged in the message of the New Testament. He and the other evangelists followed the rules and have been successful in achieving their goals. Mr. McDowell posted positive recordings of his experience at the festival in 2009

These videos provide a sharp contrast to the recordings of Acts 17 Apologetics and, better yet, they have only truth as their motive. Dearborn is not your enemy nor are the people who live here. People who would promote hatred and lies to get others to act in ways that are contrary to what America stands for are the real enemy for all lovers of our country. History is full of horrific events that were manufactured by lies to get good people to act purely emotionally to achieve the deceiver’s ends. We hope that you will choose to become informed and avoid being taken in by people that have yet to share true faith with anyone in Dearborn.

Two face indeed! The Imam, who is behind the controversial mosque at Ground Zero dreams of Islamizing United States. And, exactly such dream has been exposed in his book, which he has written on 9/11.

Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf's 2004 book had two different titles – one in English and the second in Arabic. In the U.S., his book was called, 'What's right with America is what's right with Islam."

The same book, published in Arabic, bore the name, "The Call from the WTC Rubble: Islamic Da'wah from the Heart of America Post-9/11."

Here we get exactly the two faced Imam, who actually is assigned to "spread Islam right from the WTC rubble".

Now, let us have some glimpse over the funders and backers of this mosque project. According to information, a scholar and charity head appointed to President Obama's White House Fellowships Commission is closely tied to the Muslim leaders behind this proposed controversial Islamic cultural center to be built near the site of the Sept. 11 attacks. The White House fellow, Vartan Gregorian, is president of Carnegie Corp. of New York.

Gregorian also serves on the board of the Sept. 11 Memorial and Museum. The museum is reportedly working with the American Society for Muslim Advancement, whose leaders are behind the mosque, to ensure the future museum will represent the voices of American Muslims.

"[The Sept. 11 museum will represent the] voices of American Muslims in particular, and it will honor members of other communities who came together in support and collaboration with the Muslim community on September 11 and its aftermath," stated Daisy Khan, executive director of the society.

The future Sept. 11 museum's oral historian, Jenny Pachucki, is collaborating with the society to ensure the perspective of American Muslims is woven into the overall experience of the museum, according to the museum's blog.

Daisy Khan's husband, Feisal Abdul Rauf, is the founder of the society as well as chairman of Cordoba Initiative.

With Gregorian at its helm, Carnegie Corp. is at the top of the list of society supporters on the Islamic group's website. Carnegie is also listed as a funder of both of the society's partner organizations, Search for Common Ground and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations. Gregorian was a participant in the U.N. body's first forum, as was Rauf.

Rauf is vice chairman on the board of the Interfaith Center of New York, which honored Gregorian at an awards dinner in 2008.

Gregorian, born in Tabriz, Iran, served for eight years as a president of the New York Public Library and was also president of Brown University. He is the author of "Islam: A Mosaic, Not a Monolith."

According to a book review by the Middle East Forum, Gregorian's book "establishes the Islamist goal of world domination."

A chapter of the book, "Islamism: Liberation Politics," quotes Ayatollah Khomeini: "Islam does not conquer. Islam wants all countries to become Muslim, of themselves."

Hassan al-Banna, founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, is quoted stating it "is the nature of Islam to dominate, not to be dominated, to impose its laws on all nations and to extend its power to the entire planet."

Gregorian himself recommends for Muslims a system he calls "theo-democracy," which he defines as "a divine democratic government" that, according to the book review, "would have a limited popular sovereignty under the suzerainty of Allah."

Just last week, WND reported Rauf refused during a live radio interview to condemn violent jihad groups as terrorists. Rauf repeatedly refused on-air to affirm the U.S. designation of Hamas as a terrorist organization or call the Muslim Brotherhood extremists.

The Brotherhood openly seeks to spread Islam around the world, while Hamas is committed to Israel's destruction and is responsible for scores of suicide bombings, shootings and rocket attacks aimed at Jewish civilian population centers.

During that interview, Rauf was also asked who he believes was responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks.

"There's no doubt," stated Rauf. "The general perception all over the world was it was created by people who were sympathetic to Osama bin Laden. Whether they were part of the killer group or not, these are details that need to be left to the law-enforcement experts."

Rauf has been on record several times as blaming U.S. policies for the Sept. 11 attacks. He has been quoted refusing to admit Muslims carried out the attacks.

Referring to the Sept. 11 attacks, Rauf told CNN, "U.S. policies were an accessory to the crime that happened. We [the U.S.] have been an accessory to a lot of innocent lives dying in the world. Osama bin Laden was made in the USA."

Madeline Brooks, a regular contributor of Weekly Blitz and anti-Jihadist columnist, who attended a sermon this year by Rauf, quoted the Islamic leader as stating "some people say it was Muslims who attacked on 9/11."

An identified group with unknown sponsors has purchased building with US$ 4.85 million cash steps away from where the World Trade Center once stood — to turn it into potentially one of the largest New York City mosques or Islamic Mecca right inside USA.

The Imam, Feisal Abdul Rauf, told the New York Times — which put the story on its front page — that he has assembled several million dollars to turn it into "an Islamic center near the city's most hallowed piece of land that would stand as one of ground zero's more unexpected and striking neighbors."

The 61-year-old Imam said he paid $4.85 million for it — in cash, records show. With 50,000 square feet of air rights and enough financing, he plans an ambitious project of $150 million, he said.

Most US mosques, including many in Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx are funded directly or indirectly by Saudi Arabia the country to which 15 of the 19 hijackers who bombed the World Trade Center belonged. The UAE, Qatar and Iran are other major sponsors across the USA.

The source of money matters as a significant part of the hundreds of mosques being built and already erected in this country double up as cultural Islamic centers for distributing literature– Islamist propaganda in fact—from Bay Ridge Brooklyn to Detroit, and for schooling growing Muslim minorities. They house Imams of unknown origin and education, many of whom do not speak a word in English but preach in Arabic and Urdu — radical messages, it often turns out.

While Imam Faisal is gradually moving ahead with his master plan of constructing the Mecca of Islam in NYC, unknown patrons are continuing to put huge amount of cash in gradually having a strong Islamist grip over world media.

In United Kingdom, newspapers like Islamic Times, The Muslim News, The Muslim Weekly, or radio stations like Radio Apni Awaz, Radio Dawn or TV channels like Islam Channel, Muslim TV are only few examples. According to information, Muslim 'entrepreneurs' are gradually buying shares in several news outlets in UK with money received from unknown sources. Hundreds of millions of dollars are flowing into such project with the ultimate goal of virtually waging Islamic Jihad over global media.

There are a few dozens of Islamic TV channels already on air. Peace TV [run by notorious Zakir Naik], ARY TV, Q-TV, Islamic TV, Muslim TV etc.

Islam Channel – UK:

Commenting on Britain's most popular Islam Channel, OFCOM in a report found that a number of presenters with extremis tendencies were regularly given the opportunity to air their opinions on the network.

The report also condemned the channel, which is headquartered in London, for being demeaning to women, saying that programmes instructed women that they could not refuse to have sexual relations with their husbands. Under British law, a husband who forces his wife to have sex with him can be charged with rape.

The report added that on one program, women were told that they should not leave their homes without their husband's consent and should always have a male escort. Another suggested that women who used perfume were prostitutes. Concerns were also raised in the report over a religious advice programme in which viewers were told that "the majority of people in hell will be women" because they are the cause of "calamities, hardship and suffering" in western society.

The channel was accused of promoting the speeches of Anwar al Awlaki, an extremist preacher who has been linked to al Qaeda, and the views of Hizb ut-Tahrir, a fundamentalist organisation the former Prime Minister Tony Blair had tried to ban.

The Islam Channel is watched by an estimated 59 per cent of the UK's two million Muslims. It is also available as a satellite channel across Europe and Africa.

New Islam TV – Africa:

In Africa, a company named Multichoice has launched a channel named New Islam TV, which is added in DStv bouquets, reaching millions of people. The channel offers choice news and current affairs, children and women's programs, as well as Quran recitals in Arabic with English subtitles, Islamic values and doctrine.

Azhari TV – Egypt

Egyptian Al Azhar University is set to launch a satellite based television channel in months targeting "1.5 million Muslims and non-Muslims alike in the world".

Head of Al Azhar, Sheikh Mohamed Sayed Tantawi, commenting on this channel, which is funded by a Libyan businessman named Hassan Tatanaki said, "in the Age of Obama we realized it was time to look at new ways to deliver our message."

Hassan Tatanaki placed an initial investment of US$ 2.7 million in this project. Several news sources claim that the real amount of investment in the channel is much higher than shown in the document. The channel will feature a daily sermon from Sheikh Mohamed Tantawi, documentaries relating to al-Azhar, talk shows and an animated series on the Koran. The channel will broadcast 75 percent of its output in Arabic, with the rest initially in English and French. Other languages will be added in 2011.

Another Islamic TV channel named Al Sufiya Wa Atasawaf will also be launched from Egypt in several months.

Al Falah TV – Malaysia

An Islamic television channel named Al Falah TV has been launched by Malaysian company named World Islamic Television Network. Its chairman Khairuddin Abu Hassan said, "This channel will act as a hub for the collection of television programs from Islamic nations and export the same to Europe, the United States and East Asia."

Despite series of protests, Kuwait-born Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf is silently getting set in erecting the ‘Tower of Terror’ under the garb of a mosque at Ground Zero site in New York City in United States. The prospective developer of the US$ 100 million 13-story mosque, which will be located just 600 feet from the Ground Zero, projects himself as a moderate Muslim. But, it is recorded that, Faisal Abdul Rauf inherits the notion of Muslim Brotherhood from his father, Dr. Mohammed Abdul Rauf [1917-2004], an Egyptian contemporary of Muslim brotherhood founder Hassan Al-Banna. Dr. Rauf conveyed to his family a long tradition of radicalism which he acquired at Islam’s closest equivalent to Vatican, Al Azhar University in Cairo.

Imam Abdul Rauf, the man behind this controversial mosque is a prominent member of a group that helped sponsor the pro-Palestinian activists who clashed violently with Israeli commandos at sea several weeks back. Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf is a key figure in Malaysia based Perdana Global Peace Organization. Perdana is the single biggest donor [US$ 366,000] so far to the Free Gaza Movement, a key organization of the six-ship flotilla that tried to break into Israel’s blockade of the Hamas-run Gaza strip.

In the ultimate act of Islamic conquest and callous insensitivity to the victims' families and all Americans who were attacked by Islamic jihad on 9/11/01, the Free Gaza, Jew-killing supporting Imam and his Islamic supremacist wife are ignoring the pleas and cries from millions of Americans, and intend to build their Islamic supremacist mosque. The imam, at Friday prayers two weeks ago, said he didn't understand the hostility of the opposition to the monster mosque, especially since our "children and our grandchildren would be Muslim."

These pro-Jihadist Imam and his deceitful wife speak of "building bridges" and "outreach," yet completely ignore the pain and the pleas of patriots and Americans asking them to stop this divisiveness, this insult, this slap on the national face America.

Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf refuses to describe notorious terrorist group Hamas as a terrorist organization, though according to US State Department’s assessment, "Hamas terrorists, especially those in the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, have conducted many attacks, including large-scale suicide bombings, against Israeli civilian and military targets."

Walid Shoebat, an Arabic speaker who says he found an Arabic-language interview in which Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf to make a statement about religious tolerance and reconciliation, and to spite radical Islam - advocates turning America into an Islamic state.

Recently - in fact on May 26 2010, one day after his Daily News column - Abdul Rauf appeared on the popular Islamic website Hadiyul-Islam with even more disturbing opinions. That's the same website where, ironically enough, a fatwa was simultaneously being issued forbidding a Muslim to sell land to a Christian, because the Christian wanted to build a church on it.
In his interview on Hadiyul-Islam by Sa'da Abdul Maksoud, Abdul Rauf was asked his views on Sharia [Islamic religious law] and the Islamic state. He responded:

Throughout my discussions with contemporary Muslim theologians, it is clear an Islamic state can be established in more than just a single form or mold. It can be established through a kingdom or a democracy. The important issue is to establish the general fundamentals of Sharia that are required to govern. It is known that there are sets of standards that are accepted by [Muslim] scholars to organize the relationships between government and the governed.

When questioned about this, Abdul Rauf continued: "Current governments are unjust and do not follow Islamic laws." He added:

New laws were permitted after the death of Muhammad, so long of course that these laws do not contradict the Quran or the Deeds of Muhammad ... so they create institutions that assure no conflicts with Sharia.

In yet plainer English, forget the separation of church and state. Abdul Rauf's goal is the imposition of Shariah law - in every country, even democratic ones like the U.S.

Imam Rauf is dreaming to construct this mosque with his ultimate goal of Islamizing America. But, he possibly forgets one point. When Americans are attacked, they come together as one, under one flag, under one law against a common enemy that they are not afraid to identify. Religious freedom is central to America as a nation - and that is why the location of this project is so misguided. Ground Zero is purely about being American. And, there is no room for anyone to let this sentiment be anyway ignored by anyone.

I precisely understand the reason behind such huge flow of fund for this Tower of Terrorism at Ground Zero site. Many of the radical Muslim nations in the world are willing to give a ‘proper lesson’ to Americans by planting a so-called mosque at the very wound of those family members of the martyrs as well as patriotic Americans.

Secondly this very mosque, like many other large mosques and so-called community mosques in United States will turn into epicenter of Tablighi Jamaat activities. It is well documented that, Tablighi Jamaat preaches Jihad and encourages deceitful conversion of non-Muslims to Islam. Due to decade-long activities of Tablighi Jamaat in Bangladesh, the percentage of religious minorities, including Hundus, Christians and Buddhists are on fast decline. It is feared that, if Tablighis will be able to continue its activities inside Bangladesh for another decade, the country may witness a complete elimination of religious minorities from its population.

While Tablighis are actively working inside United States for Islamizing America, rogue Islamists like Abdul Rauf are not sitting silent. This man is moving ahead with his agenda of constructing the mosque at Ground Zero. Americans need to wake up now. Because, their silence will put America into further risk.

Here is an update on the dhimmi Governor of Massachusetts from yesterday. He caved in to ALL Muslim demands. Absoultely alarming and yesterday I called it Dhimmichusetts and now we really can. Deval Patrick obviously know nothing about Islam, the Qur'an and sharia law. I doubt he has read the Qur'an or Hadith. To be totally ignorant of the threats that Islam has brought to our country is shameful. I wonder if he has converted to Islam yet?

In today’s political climate, this is no surprise though, and if this were not such a serious issue, this would all be comical. In Governor Patrick we have another cowardly politician, that does not even have the sense to think past the day that he is in, and be concerned about his family’s future generations, being forced to live under Islamic rule. Sunday, May 23, 2010 – In his largest meeting with Boston-area Muslims, Gov. Deval Patrick agreed yesterday to take aim at ensuring their rights and addressing racial profiling.

The session came little more than a week after two Bay State Muslims were arrested in a raid following an attempted car bombing in Times Square in New York.

More than 1,100 Muslims attended the forum at the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center and Mosque in Roxbury, where Patrick was given one minute to answer “yes” or “no” to seven questions, including whether he would:

Have law enforcement agency heads and others meet with Muslims to discuss the need for cultural awareness training.

Beginning his comments in Arabic by saying, “Hello, how are you. I speak Arabic a little,” the governor said the forum was not his first exposure to Islam, noting that he’d lived in Sudan and Nigeria.

Designate a liaison to the Muslim community.

Urge the public and private sectors to accommodate Muslims’ religious obligation to attend Friday afternoon prayers.

The governor answered yes to every question. Patrick said he had already named a liaison. When it came to prayer times, Patrick said he wants to promote overall religious tolerance.

Beginning his comments in Arabic by saying, “Hello, how are you. I speak Arabic a little,” the governor said the forum was not his first exposure to Islam, noting that he’d lived in Sudan and Nigeria.

“Yours is a peaceful faith, and I know that. I know you are worried that others know that,” he said. The head of one Muslim group said he was interviewed three times in recent years by FBI agents “fishing for something.” A mother told of walking with her baby in the months after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and feeling terrified when a cab driver pulled up to them and said, “We should kill you all.”

“We are here for power and for recognition,” said Bilal Kaleem, president of the Muslim American Society of Boston. “We’re against extremism and terror.”

Governor, you are either being politically correct, or are ignorant on Islam. Like Obama, I openly challenge you to a debate on Islam. I doubt you want that though…

Gov. Of Massachusetts to meet at mosque with huge group of Muslims

This is from Logan's Warning. Where the Governor see diversity, political correctness, multiculturalism, I see a dhimmitidinal, ignorant, fool who thinks he is bridging the gap with Islam. Nothing could be further from the truth. This is a huge display of taqiya by these Muslims and Islam. Islam has NOTHING to offer the West except problem after problem. There are very few places in the world, touched by Islam, where trouble, violence and death have not erupted. This group of Muslims will be showing up with a shopping list of demands that are meant to do one thing; ensure the spread of Islam. No doubt that one big item on the 'to do' list will be to portray the Muslims of America as victims of persecution and harassment by law enforcement agencies.

Those of us who make it point to study, read about Islam can see through the lies, manipulation and deception that you will be casting at this meeting. Knowing you will not make us like Islam, nor will we fear it. Don't go blaming Islam's image problems on the radicals that skulk about our streets and in the mosques. It is not just a few Islamic radical terrorists. It is the entire perverted ideology of Islam, Shariah law and Shariah finance.

Mass. Muslims to meet Gov., seek broader voice

Massachusetts Muslim leaders, moving to transform their often marginalized community into a vibrant civic force, will meet face to face with Gov. Deval Patrick this weekend in what they’re billing as a landmark event.
Organizers say about 1,000 Muslims from groups around the state, including 15 mosques, plan to attend a Saturday forum with the governor at the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center, in New England’s largest mosque.

Leaders plan to talk to Patrick about what Muslims can contribute, describe bias they face and ask the governor to make specific commitments to raise awareness about their faith.

It’s the first time such a large group of Muslims have had an audience with the state’s highest-ranking elected official, said Yusufi Vali, a community organizer at the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization.

“I think what is happening this night is exactly what needs to happen,” he said. “What people will see that night is Muslims aren’t scary. … They do want to have a stake in this country and make it better.”

Boston College religion professor Alan Wolfe said the meeting could have lasting importance for area Muslims.

“I think there’s still a substantial reluctance on the part of non-Muslim Americans to accept Islam as part of the American religious rainbow. This is an important step to overcoming that,” he said. “It’s a symbolic recognition that Muslims are a political community, and the only way you get accepted in America is through politics, really.”

Estimates of the state’s Muslim population vary widely, from as high as 130,000, to a 2007 survey by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life that puts the number at no more than 33,000 out of a population of 6.6 million.

There’s a broad range of incomes, education levels and ethnicities within the group, from newer Somali immigrants, often in working-class jobs such as cab drivers, to established families from India and Pakistan employed as engineers and doctors. But their varied backgrounds mean local Muslim voices have sometimes been fragmented or muffled, event organizers said.

But Vali said Muslims share weariness and anger over being branded dangerous because of terrorism by Islamic extremists, and the accompanying extra attention by law enforcement and airport security. There’s also a conviction the political class prefers to keep them at arm’s length.

Vali noted President Barack Obama has not visited an American mosque since he took office — and did not during the campaign — though the White House cites several initiatives to reach out to Muslims, including briefings with more than 100 Arab-American leaders during the last two years to update them on various domestic and international issues.

Area Muslims came to realize nothing would change until they united and tried to engage elected leaders, said Suzan El-Rayess, a graduate student working with event organizers.

“We felt like now is the time,” El-Rayess said. “We don’t have a seat at the table. We want to be active decision makers.”

The governor agreed to the meeting about three months ago, and organizers began holding small group meetings throughout the state to learn what Muslims were concerned about and what they’d like to change, Kaleem said.

The result was a list of several commitments Patrick will be asked to make Saturday, including visiting at least two Muslim institutions in the next six months; arranging a meeting with law enforcement agencies to discuss training for interacting with the Muslim community; and convening a meeting with the state education chief to improve awareness of religious requirements of Muslim students and teachers, such as fasting and prayer. To show their concern for the broader community, they’ll also ask Patrick to fight usury by moving state money out of banks that avoid the state’s interest rate cap, Kaleem said.

The governor hadn’t made promises prior to the meeting. In a statement, a spokeswoman for Patrick, Kimberly Haberlin, said the governor “is committed to listening to the concerns and good ideas of all Massachusetts citizens.” But event organizers said, no matter what, Saturday’s meeting was just a beginning.

Politically correct, Diversified and Mulitcultural Vermont adds Muslim 'holiday' to school calendar

Here is another perfect example of Islamic infiltration, stealth jihad, into our school systems, government and society. The good dhimmis of the Burlington School Board have bowed down to Islam and added these 'holidays.' If they had not done so, the school board and district would have been sued by CAIR and other Islamic groups. The adding of a Jewish Holiday was a nice touch from the play book from the three toxic stews of society: Political Correctness, Diversity and Multiculturalism. This way, the school board covered their butts and Muslims are Ok with this, for now. I have no problem at all with adding Jewish holidays as it is a true religion and they are not out to take over the world through violent and subversive means. Islam is an ideology and nothing more. For their sterling efforts in dhimmi behavior, the Burlington School Board is awarded a case of canned bacon and gummi bacon, a first here at Patriot's Corner. This may become a tradition here, reserved only for those who are the perfect dhimmi stooges. The difference is that Jews are not on a worldwide movement, trying impose a barbaric set of religious laws on all. Muslim, Jewish Holidays to be Added to Vermont School Calendar

The Burlington School Board has voted to add two holidays to future school calendars to give students time off on Jewish and Muslim holy days, but board members say the changes won’t lengthen the school year.

The board approved the chances Tuesday by an 8-1 vote.

The additions will give students the day off on and Yom Kippur.

Muslims mark Eid al-Fitr as a feast to end the holy month of Ramadan. Yom Kippur is a Jewish day of atonement and considered among the holiest days of the year; it typically occurs in early fall.

Dhimmi stupidity two blocks from the site of the WTC.

I remember reading about this at Gates of Vienna last year. Unfortunatley, the plans for a giant mosque and 'community center' have been approved. I can hear the gasps and see the tears of the almost 3,000 that were murdered in cold blood by Muslims assasins on September 11th, 2001. I can hear the weeping and shouts of anger from the the families, friends and co-workers of those who lost loved one on that horrific day. What's next? How about getting the first Muslim president of the United States and Louis 'Little Hitler' Farrakhan to dedicate this newest house of Islamic perversion and violence upon it's completion? Just two blocks from the WTC. Will this be another mosque that is home to preaching radical Islam one night and then preaching the lies of Islam is so good and beautiful on the other nights? I make no apologies. This just sickens me and is wrong on so many levels.

“It doesn’t belong down here,” said Rosemary Cain, whose firefighter son was killed on 9/11. “It makes me sick to think the city would allow such a thing.”


While Cain acknowledged that “not every person who is Muslim is a terrorist,” she thinks the Muslim community as a whole never sufficiently declaimed the attacks.


John Schmidt, 29, a construction worker who is rebuilding the World Trade Center, also got angry when he heard about the plans.


“No way,” he said. “Muslims bombed the towers. Why would they put a mosque next to the Freedom Tower?”

Mosque to Open Two Blocks From World Trade Center

FINANCIAL DISTRICT — The old Burlington Coat Factory building on Park Place has sat shuttered and empty since the landing gear from a hijacked plane crashed through the roof on 9/11.

The downtown community has mixed feelings about plans for an Islamic center near Ground Zero, but Community Board 1 approved the plan Wednesday night.

Now, a Muslim group hopes to build a mosque and cultural center there, replacing what they see as the worst of Islam with the best.

“We have a vision that is opposite the vision of the extremists,” said Daisy Khan, executive director of the Cordoba Initiative, the group behind the center. “We want to be a driving force for the rebuilding of Lower Manhattan.”

Community Board 1’s Financial District Committee embraced the center’s message of tolerance and voted unanimously Wednesday night to support the project.

“Finally we can get that ugly space taken care of,” said Pat Moore, a member of the committee who lives nearby.

Khan envisions the $100 million, 100,000-square-foot Cordoba House as much more than a mosque: She wants it to be a gathering place for the entire downtown community, including residents, workers and tourists, whether they are Muslim or not.

The 13-story center, which could open as soon as 2013 at 45 Park Place, will include a 500-seat auditorium, a basketball court, a swimming pool and a kitchen for cooking classes. Khan hopes to host interfaith conferences and panels along with more lighthearted events like a Muslim Idol talent competition.

“People read the Koran and they don’t know the meaning,” said Chowdhury, who is Muslim. “It is good for them to learn — to learn is best.”

Matt Migeal, 39, who was selling 9/11 photo books in front of the World Trade Center on Wednesday, also thought it was good for the mosque to move in.

“This didn’t happen because of Muslim people,” Migeal said, gesturing toward the site. “Terrorism and Islam have nothing to do [with each other].”

The Cordoba Initiative already runs a mosque on West Broadway and started holding weekly services in the new Park Place space last year. As the services grow, they could attract up to 2,000 people, Khan said.

The Cordoba Initiative is already working with the NYPD on security.

Khan said she has heard very little criticism of the center so far, though she added that Saturday’s attempted Times Square bombing didn’t help.

“Events like [Times Square] always set us back,” Khan said. “Leaders have to push back in the other direction, and that’s what we’re trying to do.”
