There is no utopia

While this article is now a week old, I decided to post it up as it is timely and what Mr. Adams discusses in his article is timeless, as far as I am concerned.

While utopia is mentioned it is not the sole topic but Utopia is what the Europe tried to create decades ago with ultra liberal, socialist policies and agendas. With some of the highest tax rates in the world many European countries now find themselves on the brink of economic disaster. The EU has pursued many of the same policies with predictable results.

The vilification and smearing of those of us who have tried to alert those who championed such policies is now in full force and evil must NOT be allowed to triumph or gain an even stronger foothold than it now has via the spread of islam and sharia law. Like it or not it IS the evil of our time.

Can one person and their heinous act(s) msear a majority of mankind? Only if we let it. Nor should such acts as July 22nd, 2011 be allowed to smear, and label any religious or political movement. Especially when there is no evidence that this was the case.

"A human being can only be judged by his/her actions; the murders of 76 innocent people in Oslo can only have been done by an insane person. The cold-blooded, methodical hatred of the killings can only be illustrative of insanity or evil in action (regardless of whatever cogency might be found in his 1500 pages).

We have seen so many times, certainly in the 20th century and, more recently, cold-blooded savagery given the cover of some rational or faith-oriented explanation or defense; some calculated moral inversion that justifies, as the Oslo killer likely did as he killed young people in cold blood, the most savage and venal anti-human actions imaginable.

This event of abysmal horror, so beyond comprehension – could be a “fork in the road.” One can only hope that something good – something not heinous can come from these events in Oslo on the 22nd of July, 2011."

*******************************************************************************************************************************

Dehumanization – Preliminary Lessons of the Oslo Attack
by D.L. Adams

Not much is new in all of this – innocents have been massacred by arrogant, deluded, self-important failed humans since time immemorial. Now Oslo and Shanksville are neighbors in a global world and a global failure.

It is difficult to make sense of the events in Oslo where almost 100 innocent people were murdered by one man, a man filled with hatred, self-delusion, and barbarism. Events such as this can only fill the hearts of civilized people across the globe with deep sorrow, compassion for the victims and their families, and for the people of Norway, but even more so for the ongoing failure of humanity which the attacks and murders in Oslo represent.

The Oslo killer not only murdered guiltless children and attacked the government there; his was an assault on civilization itself as all such attacks always are. Watching the internet feeds, viewing the horror of it all leaves one almost completely numb – totally horrified that a member of our species could be capable of such cruelty and malice.

But there must be some way to respond to this event other than numbed silence. The Prime Minister of Norway’s early reaction to these attacks was to declare that Norwegian democracy will emerge stronger as a result, that nobody can bomb Norway into being anything other than Norway. This was strong leadership amidst crisis, and he should be commended for it, but it remains to be seen what this horror will bring to Norway and the nations of Europe.

In the United States we are reminded of 9/11, and of Oklahoma City and all the terror attacks we have suffered over the last several decades. We think of our fallen fellow Americans lost in these horrors and wonder if it will ever end. Events in Norway suggest that there is no end in sight; now – that abominations and dehumanization are possible from people holding any political or religious views, no matter what the essential credos of those political or religious ideologies might instruct vis-a-vis the appreciation and protection of innocent human life. Ours is an ugly world of terror and brutality, nothing new about that, really – except for the scale and the instruments of murder deployed.

What do we do with the numbness and confusion that all decent people across the planet feel today as we try to comprehend in some small way our failures and the ever increasing challenges that failed human beings like the Oslo killer present to us? Is there some way that we can learn from these events?

The Oslo killer with his 1500 page anti-multiculturalism and anti-Islam manifesto now making its way onto the internet has obscenely strong political views… views which apparently motivated his murderous inhuman actions. Now that he has done these horrible things, do his political views matter?

A human being can only be judged by his/her actions; the murders of 93 innocent people in Oslo can only have been done by an insane person.

This event of abysmal horror, so beyond comprehension – could be a “fork in the road.” One can only hope that something good – something not heinous can come from these events in Oslo on the 22nd of July, 2011.

We cannot comfort the families of those who were taken so horrifically taken from them, there is no punishment suitable for the perpetrator of these vile acts – there can only be a collective mourning and an attempt, poor though it might be, to comprehend and to prevent such things from ever happening again.

At the heart of the Oslo nightmare is the core of the failure of humanity in all its endeavors where interacting with others is concerned – the belief that some are superior to others and that those who are not superior are therefore inferior. Genocide is based upon this concept of the dehumanization of “the other” by failed people.

Where do we go from Oslo? Where do the roads from Oslo, Washington, Tel Aviv, Shanksville, Madrid, Jerusalem, Mumbai, London, Paris, Beslan, Bali, Kenya, New York City, and so many other cities, towns and private dwellings – all victims of vicious hatred and dehumanization – lead?

For the sake of all those who live on this planet, and all those who will follow us – and for the sake of the memory of our heroes who fought evil in their time so that we could live in peace and prosperity – surely we must come to a new place. This new place must be founded upon the idea of the essential value of human life. In that place intolerance will not be tolerated and ideologies and belief systems that dehumanize others and that condemn those who do not share in the same concepts will themselves be condemned.

There is no Utopia; there is only the ever growing challenge that we all must meet to appreciate the linkage that we share with all people and yet have zero tolerance for those who refuse to live within the family of humanity.

There will always be individuals who fail – people who “fall under the radar” and commit heinous crimes. Such failures are the fundamental reason why governments exist. We should always be vigilant against such human catastrophes such as the Oslo killer.

More importantly still we should be vigilant too against ideologies, governments, and any other organized thought system whose essential creed is the superiority of themselves in relation to “the other” – and the horrific things they feel justified in doing to those who do not adhere to their beliefs and are thus “inferior”. This is not to suggest that all ideologies or beliefs are equivalent, they are not. However, there must be an acknowledgement and acceptance of differences founded only upon our shared humanity.

In this hour of numbness and our almost universal revulsion and shock at the horror, and irreparable loss in Oslo, Norway and the ever on-display depravity and venality of some humans there is still hope that we can change. It is a small long-planted seed of a hope, but it is there – our tears and our determination to overcome our failures can only help it to grow.

Old tactics in an old feud: environazis and tree sitting

In a practice that many people have forgotten about, maybe they just do not care anymore or there are much larger problems to be focusing on, some Cascadia Forest Defenders were recently removed from the trees they were 'squatting' in to protest a logging sale in Elliot State Forest. Cascadia Forest Defenders goal is "to stop all logging of native forest on public lands in Oregon."

Read that last sentence again. They want to STOP ALL LOGGING, period.

These parasites on society do not care if this means ruining the livelihood of those who still work in the timber industry, crippling the economy of small towns throughout the state of Oregon, up through Alaska and down into Northern California. Have any of these hairy, smelly alinskyites, lovers of Bill Ayers (sound familiar? The first muslim potus holds Ayers and Alinsky close as well) ever had a REAL job with REAL responsibilities and have they ever done anything to help others or the greater good? One can only wonder.

As one who has had many a past conflict with similar environazi trolls, I have ZERO sympathy for their cause or tactics. As is mentioned below, there are other ways to stop a logging sale or the cutting of precious timber that might just go towards staving off foreclosure of the timber worker's home in the great economy that has been so 'vibrant' under obama and his ilk. Maybe obama should invite these folks to the White House or he could give them a job tending to the first lady's needs and wants, which are many. I am sure she needs more help. After all, 26 aides is hardly enough for a such a 'busy' first lady. That is how many aides she has working for her at a huge cost to me and you.

Back to the tree huggers. I suppose we should be happy they did not spike any trees or resort to other low life tactics that might injure or kill a logger. How much did it cost US to 'remove' these environazis from the trees?

The wrong way to fight for forests
Bend Bulletin

There are good ways to try to stop a timber sale or harvest, and there are bad ways. This past week saw some of the bad ways tried, ineffectively, in Coos County. That’s when three members of the Cascadia Forest Defenders took it upon themselves to climb high into trees on the site of the Elkhorn Ranch timber sale in the central coastal county.

The sale is on land in the Elliott State Forest northeast of Coos Bay. Money generated by the forest is slated for the state’s Common School Fund.

The three individuals were bad enough. They put their lives in danger, and getting them down was no small feat. Police had to use a boom platform vehicle to reach the three, who climbed higher into the trees when they saw the boom coming. Fortunately, the county could call on sheriff’s deputies with special training in high-angle rope rescues, but fire medics from nearby Lakeside and a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter also were at the site in case anyone was hurt. The rescue itself was an expensive, time-consuming process.

Protesters have done more than just sit in trees. They dug a trench in the road to the sale site, damaging a culvert in the process, and they blocked the road with trees, rocks and barbed wire. It took a backhoe to fill the trench and the debris had to be moved from the road.

There are legitimate ways to protest timber sales. Tree-sitting and vandalism are not among them. The Forestry Department is seeking public comment as it creates long-range plans for the land it manages, and, in fact, is currently updating its plan for the Elliott State Forest. Too, those who oppose sales do have the right to sue, though that costs money.

Oregon law requires that state forest lands be managed “to secure the greatest permanent value of those lands to the state,” and to that end it may hold timber sales, allow grazing and permit other activities that generate revenue for Oregonians. Because the value is to be permanent, the department may not take action that will do long-term damage to its lands, and it is bound by the Endangered Species Act to protect both northern spotted owls and marbled murrelets. A habitat conservation plan for the Elliott was created to do just that.

Protesters say they want to draw attention to their cause with the actions on the Elliott, but behavior like theirs is unlikely to draw the kind of attention they had in mind.

Responding to a hypocrite and moron: From Vlad Tepes

Here is the comment that started Eeyore's response, which you will find below. My comments follow after Eeyore's and please be sure to support the counterjihad sites mentioned below. The liberals and NWO progressives have attempted to smear us with lies and by trying(and failing) to link VT and us to the massacre in Norway.

Note the accusations that VT and of course, the rest of the CJ are accused of  "a front to civilised free speech and a veil for Ultra Right Wing Fascists out to exterminate the normal Human Race and should be shut down."

Of course Mr. Finney throws out those accusations as so many have since 7-22-2011. Where is his proof? You will find it is NO WHERE to be found, as usual.

The Comment:

Your article is no different to the anti Jewish propaganda used by the Nazi to isolate Jews, demonise them and then persecute them. Your website is a front to civilised free speech and a veil for Ultra Right Wing Fascists out to exterminate the normal Human Race and should be shut down.

You will be monitored for insighting hatred and murder – rest assured civilised people of the World will not allow another ultra Right Wing Nazi to mass murder people like in Norway, Sebrenica, and Western Europe ever again.

Do not get confused with racist behaviour and free speech to convey civilised opinions there is a clear difference which you are quite aware of so your motive is to insight murder – if there is a link between your Nazi propaganda and the murder of innocents in Norway you will be prosecuted as an accessory to murder – shame on you.

Typically I don’t bother with morons. They make comments, and unless those comments are vile and threatening and without basis in anything factual or of no value at all, I let them stand in the interest of freedom of speech, or, to show how the other side thinks and occasionally to show how the worst of ‘our side’ does.

This one I decided to answer, because the rank hypocrisy in this particular threatening comment needs to be pointed out.

First, the comment:

Breaking my own rule, ‘Never worry about what illiterate morons think about you’, I have decided to refute this one.

1. No. This blog is nothing like what Nazi propaganda was against Jews. To start with, exposing the factual teachings of Islam, the actions of Muslims in the name of Islam and Islamic history and intentions is a public service. One the mass media has failed to do, because of fascists who have applied political correctness to the point that if a fact is not in keeping with the narrative as dictated by the PC left, then they will make sure that media person or organization hurts for having spoken it. Ask Ezra Levant or Lowell Green but they are merely two examples of thousands. The Nazi propaganda on Jews however, was fiction. I know to a relativist the difference between what is true and what is not is insignificant. But to us old-schoolers, something being true is very important.

Furthermore, the Nazi propaganda was specifically attempting to create a climate of hatred towards Jews in order to justify their mass slaughter. If hatred results in the hearts of readers of this site, it is because of reading or watching events that in fact took place at the instance of Islamic groups. Events like turning school cafeterias into mosques while no other religion is allowed to practice within those schools by law. Therefore, fault needs to be found where it originates. In Muslim groups and more importantly, in administrators and leftist enablers who are changing Canada’s values to suit Muslims without the knowledge or consent of the Canadian people.

2. If you read the agendas and views of this site, the whole reason-de-etre of this blog is to prevent the rise of what people like the author of this comment think of as ‘the far right’ although in reality the Nazis and communists are far left. The ideology that does as much killing as Nazism and Communism which is right wing or conservative, would be Islam. Their bare-foot-and-pregnant approach to women for example, or homosexuals, harken to the attitudes of the conservative right in the US in the 1950s and so might be said to be conservative. The attitude of this blog, of individual liberty and a secular democracy would be thought of as positively commie within the narrative of US 1950s Sunday morning TV. And what exactly is the ‘normal human race’? Does that mean you and your friends while I, as you imagine me, and my friends should indeed be killed? It sure seems so based on your next comments.

3. I think you need to learn a few definitions before you fling the terms around. Civilization, what does it actually mean to be civilized? Does it mean that you get to monitor me and make sure I never say anything you don’t like or you will do something to me to make sure? That is the implication here. Also look up Nazi. Your threat to me is infinitely more Nazi than anything you will find that I have published on this site as my attitudes although granted, I have published much Islamic stuff that could be confused with Nazism quite easily. But that was to expose it, not to promote it. Nazis liked to threaten and stifle any speech they did not agree with. Oh they had ‘good reasons’ just like you do. So they also wouldn’t have said it was an affront to freedom of speech because they, like you, still had it. So what’s the problem right?

As for Norway, you seem to be the last man standing not to understand that the monster who did this act, was a narcissistic psychopath who wanted to get back at his father, just like so many psychotic mass murderers do, and his reasons for doing it, are just another way of spreading more pain. The fact that you buy into his reasons makes you another victim of his. And not a very bright one at that. However if you do buy the reasoning that somehow I and friends of mine actually incited this maniac to kill, then you should monitor Paul McCartney as his song Helter Skelter was the stated cause of Charles Manson’s slaughterfest. Then go to libraries and remove all the books by James Joyce as those were the influence for the man who shot John Lennon. The list of misinterpreted nut bags is long. But wait, what about the Koran and various mosques around the world that actually DO state that proponents and believers of Islam should indeed slaughter the unbeliever all over the world until all religion is for allah? That doesn’t count right? Only psychotic killers made up reasons for influence which was never stated, never implied and never desired, those are the people you wish to monitor and censor.

Sad, angry little hypocrite.

Eeyore for Vlad.

Here are my comments that I posted on VT:

Very well done and I am re-posting with full credits to you, of course. You have answered this troll and islamosympathizer by completely tearing down his house and carting it off for him.

Mr. Finney rants here: "You will be monitored for insighting hatred and murder – rest assured civilised people of the World will not allow another ultra Right Wing Nazi to mass murder people like in Norway, Sebrenica, and Western Europe ever again."

Too bad, Mr. Finnery it is the likes of Vlad Tepes, Gates of Vienna, Tundra Tabloids, Jihad Watch, Atlas Shrugs, BNI, Weasel Zippers, TROP and my site that are the watch dogs, the canaries in the coal mine, the watchers manning the watchtowers of Jerusalem in calling out islam and sharia law for what it REALLY is.

Mr Finney, I suggest YOU read the qur'an, ahadith for yourself and then come tell us how harmless the writings of the pervert and pedophile mohammad are? It is the likes of you that has eased islam's way but trumpeting your drivel smeared with tones of political correctness, excessive diversity and multiculturalism gone wild. I have read three different translations of the qur'an, all from the ancient authors in the muslim world. There is nothing peaceful in the qur'an or islam. You want to muzzle those who who disagree with and then accuse us of being nazi's? I know quite a few counterjihadists who are JEWISH and can see and smell the stink of death and persuction between nazism and islam.

Very well done Eeyore!!

Norway and Israel terrorism: a contrast and a moron's(Envoy) commments

This is right from Tundra Tabloids:

The Tundra Tabloids good friend and fellow blogger TINSC mentioned in the TT’s comments recently about the Norway terrorist attack that:

The only remote “Israeli aspect” I have with the recent tragedy in Norway is that I’m not following the story very closely and I don’t especially care. When the Norwegians show that they care about Israeli children massacred by Arabs; Israeli children in Sederot bombed and shelled by Arabs, I’ll be happy to return the favor.

Well the Norwegian ambassador to Israel, Svein Sevje, has now made that sympathy even more less likely. Nice job you class-A moron, the Norwegians have some real ignorant bastards working in their diplomatic corps. How about Israel bouncing this clown right out of the country? KGS

*****************************************************************************************************************************

Envoy contrasts terror in Israel, Norway
JERUSALEM (JTA) -- Norway’s ambassador to Israel drew distinctions between the Oslo and Utoya massacres and Palestinian terrorism.

Svein Sevje said in an Israeli newspaper interview Tuesday that while the Norwergian bomb and gun rampages that killed 76 people and Palestinian attacks should both be considered morally unacceptable, he wanted to “outline the similarity and the difference in the two cases.”

Palestinians, the ambassador told Maariv, “are doing this because of a defined goal that is related to the Israeli occupation. There are elements of revenge against Israel and hatred of Israel. To this you can add the religious element to their actions.”

“In the case of the terror attack in Norway, the murderer had an ideology that says that Norway, particularly the Labor Party, is forgoing Norwegian culture,” Sevje said, referring to suspect Anders Breivik, a Christian nativist who is opently anti-Islam and anti-immigration.

Unlike European Union states, Norway has engaged Hamas and often been fiercely critical of Israel, to Jerusalem’s dismay.

While Sevje voiced sympathy for Israeli terror victims, having experienced “the inferno” of such attacks during his posting, he saw little chance of Norway reviewing its Middle East policies.

“We Norwegians consider the occupation to be the cause of the terror against Israel,” he said. “Those who believe this will not change their mind because of the attack in Oslo.”

He added, “Can Israel and the Palestinians solve the problems without Hamas? I don’t think so.”

UPDATE

JoshuaPundit has more, the ‘happy campers’ just one day before being murdered by Breivik, were busy playing anti-Israel games. Yep, ‘Hitler youth ‘ is more and more coming into mind, as sympathy for them is losing its appeal. KGS

JoshuaPundit: The photo above was taken on the island was taken the day before the killings. It shows Norway’s Foreign Minister, Jonas Gahr Store en route to address the Labor Party youth. And what did he have to say to them? That the Palestinians “must have their own state, the occupation must end, the wall must be demolished and it must happen now,” said the Foreign Minister to cheers from the audience.

Yes, Norway’s foreign minister wants Israel’s defensive barrier destroyed, to make it easier for homicide bombers to kill Jews.

And it didn’t end there. The main activity at the Utøya Island Meeting were mock “Break the Israel blockade” games. In one event , Palestinian aid boats would try to break the Israeli blockade, with whoever gets through first as the winner. The sign says “defeat the blockade” (opphev blokkaden – Gaza).

Dalia Mogahed: Designing the islamic state for modern times with obama's approval

Dalia Mogahed is one of the most influential muslims that the first muslim potus has appointed. She is also serves on an advisory council of the Department of Homeland Security. This would be really funny if it was not such a travesty. She has even called for re-establishing relations with hamas. How sick is that?

"The paper specifically called on the U.S. to engage opposition parties in Egypt, including the Muslim Brotherhood. It set the boundaries for dialogue with Hamas if the Islamist terror group renounced violence. Also, the paper called on the U.S. to immediately engage Hamas using intermediaries in hopes of moderating the group."

This is just the start with this particular individual, and there is NOTHING good about Mogahed, and I mean nothing!

"In her role on Obama’s faith council, Mogahed reportedly offers recommendations to the U.S. president on how faith-based organizations can best work with government to solve society’s toughest challenges."

One of society's biggest challenges is how to stop the spread of islam and the implementation of islamic sharia law. We could start by impeaching the first muslim potus and removing all of the individuals that he has appointed.

***************************************************************************************************************************

Obama’s faith adviser helped craft ‘perfect Islamic state,’ project sought to ‘implement’ Muslim caliphate
By Aaron Klein

JERUSALEM – Dalia Mogahed, appointed to President Obama’s faith advisory council, was a partner in an Islamic project whose stated goal was to “define, interpret and implement the concept of the Islamic State in modern times.”

The project was founded and directed by Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the controversial Muslim cleric behind the proposed 13-story, $100 million Islamic cultural center and mosque two blocks from Ground Zero in New York City.

Besides her role on the White House Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, Mogahed is also on the advisory council of the Department of Homeland Security. She testified before the Senate on engagement with the Muslim community.

Together with Rauf, Mogahed was a leading voice in the Leadership Group on U.S.-Muslim Engagement, which issued a 153-page recommendation paper, obtained and reviewed by KleinOnline, that calls for dialogue with Hamas.

The consensus focused on improving America’s relationship with Muslims globally, with many of the recommendations later reportedly being adopted by the Obama administration. Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and Dennis Ross, Obama’s Mideast envoy, also served on the Leadership Group that released the recommendation paper.

The paper specifically called on the U.S. to engage opposition parties in Egypt, including the Muslim Brotherhood. It set the boundaries for dialogue with Hamas if the Islamist terror group renounced violence. Also, the paper called on the U.S. to immediately engage Hamas using intermediaries in hopes of moderating the group.

Mogahed, meanwhile, is a senior analyst and executive director of the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies, where she led what has been described an unprecedented survey of Muslims worldwide, including in the U.S. and Europe.

The survey was the basis for a 2008 book she co-authored, “Who Speaks for Islam? What a Billion Muslims Really Think.”

Mogahed’s Gallup survey concluded only 7 percent of the world’s Muslims are political radicals and that the majority support democracy.

Other Gallup findings under Mogahed concluded that Muslims and Americans are equally likely to reject attacks on civilians as morally unjustifiable. Large majorities of Muslims would guarantee free speech if it were up to them to write a new constitution, the survey claimed.

‘Sister’ Mogahed and Shariah Islamic state

KleinOnline has learned that Mogahed and the Gallup survey provided key data for Rauf’s “Shariah Index Project ,” which sought, according to its own mission, to “define, interpret and implement the concept of the Islamic State in modern times.”

The project at one time was featured on the website of Rauf’s Cordoba Initiative, which is the group behind the so-called Ground Zero mosque. However, after the mosque issue was highlighted in the news media, the Shariah Index Project, a sister project of Cordoba, was scrubbed from Rauf’s website.

“Imagine: a Perfectly Islamic State,” said the deleted section of Cordoba’s website.

The website described how Mogahed’s Gallup division helped to refine the principals of the Shariah Index, which was to serve as the basis for the “perfect Islamic state.” The website stated representatives from Gallup also joined in a phone conversation to help craft the principles.

Further, Jasser Auda, a Qatari professor who is one of the personalities behind the Shariah Index Project with Rauf, described Mogahed’s involvement in providing key data that helped formulate the Shariah Index plan to map out an Islamic state, even referring to Obama’s faith adviser as “sister Mogahed.”

In an interview about the Shariah Index Project with OnIslam.com, an Islamic news portal associated with Muslim Brotherhood leader Youssef Qaradawi, Auda stated, “Our sister Dalia Mugahed – at that time she was the head of the Muslim societies branch, now she is in Abu Dhabi leading the same project on Muslim societies in a different project.”

Continued Auda, “At that time in Washington she was leading the Muslim societies index, and she gave us according to an agreement between Gallup, Cordoba and the Prime Minister of Malaysia office, gave us (Shariah Index Project) the data for three years, through which we came up with some conclusions based on asking people.”

In her role on Obama’s faith council, Mogahed reportedly offers recommendations to the U.S. president on how faith-based organizations can best work with government to solve society’s toughest challenges.

Baron Bodissey: Statement to the media

I have mentioned numerous times since the 22nd that many blogs, sites and individuals have been viciously attacked and maligned for "bad information, innuendo, rumor published as fact, unsourced articles, character assassination, and outright lies are being published in Europe today."

Not only is this happening in Europe but it is also happening here in the States and the left thinks it is fat city attacking those who are counterjihadists, against islam, the spread and implementation of islamic sharia law. What is quite sad is that almost ALL of these accusations are without any substantiation of facts and are nothing more than slander and slime.

Fjordman, who has been accused of being Breivik or holding the same views as this psychopathic madman, reached his limit after granting several interviews with the European media and has refused to have anything more to do with them.

Now the media has requested the same from Baron Bodissey to the point that he released the statement you will find below. Enough is enough and there has been so much shoddy, poor journalism, if one can call it that, anything said to the media would get misquoted at best or turned into more lies and slander at the worst.

*******************************************************************************************************************************

Baron Bodissey: Statement Issued to the Media

Now that Fjordman is no longer giving interviews to the media, some of the European outlets have written wanting to interview me.

I will give no interviews to the European media, for the reasons given in the statement below, which is being sent out in reply to all reporters who request such interviews.

If you read anything in the European press purporting to be my words, and it differs in any way from the text below (with the exception of the alternate words in square brackets), then it has been edited before publication by someone other than myself.

I have access to translated summaries of every European news story on Breivik and the Oslo murders, and of course I can read the English-language articles myself. I am well aware of what is being said in the newspapers and on television about me, Fjordman, and many other colleagues.

It is astonishing how much bad information, innuendo, rumor published as fact, unsourced articles, character assassination, and outright lies are being published in Europe today. The lack of ethical behavior among professional journalists is absolutely appalling.

Because I attended some of the events described, and know many of the people involved, I can see how bad the reporting is. The slanders and the smears are obvious. Unlike your [readers] [viewers], I am cognizant of the truth.

Given these conditions, there is no way that I will consent to be interviewed by anyone in the European press.

However, you have my permission to publish this email, provided that you publish it in its entirety, with no omissions or alterations, in the original English.

Balance the Budget: Now is the Time

ARRA News Service - Tina Korbe, Hot Air said: When “Cut, Cap and Balance” failed the Senate and both chambers of Congress regrouped around new plans, the first to go of the three crucial elements in the House’s original plan was a balanced budget amendment. Neither of the deficit reduction plans presently on the table provides for the passage of a BBA. It’s also the element of CCB most frequently decried as unrealistic. But political lights from Thomas Jefferson to Ronald Reagan have called for such an amendment, as this video from GOP Labs illustrates.

Let President Obama say, “We don’t need more studies; we don’t need a balanced budget amendment.” If ever any unfolding drama proved the need for such an amendment, the drama of the past week has been it. Leave cuts to Congress and what do you get? CBO-certified gimmicks on both sides — even on the side of one sincerely trying to garner savings, one who says he also “wanted more.”

President Reagan Said in a Speech to the Nation on Federal Budget, 4/29/1982:
As former President Ronald Reagan says in this video, “Most Americans understand the need for a balanced budget and most have seen how difficult it is for the Congress to withstand the pressures to spend more. … We tried the carrot and it failed. With the stick of a balanced budget amendment, we can stop government’s squandering and overtaxing ways and save our economy.”

Stolen from a mate down in Australia!

The Dexter Factor and Anders Behring Breivik

This is straight from Gates Of Vienna and really hits two sided nature of the accusations against those vilified and attacked without real evidence, those who oppose islamization and sharia law, including myself. While I have received fair number of nasty comments, this site has not been scorched and blamed like Geert Wilders, ESW, Gates Of Vienna, Jihad Watch, Robert Spencer, Pamela Geller, Fjordman and many others who have come under attack from those who court islam, islamization and the spread of sharia law in the United States.

Funny that this murdering madman mentions the show, Dexter. I have watched five seasons of Dexter and found it rather fascinating but in a sick and twisted dimension. Do not think badly of me and I am not going to run out and start murdering people ala Dexter. I am a sort of sick, demented person who has been lovingly and not with love, called crazy, needs to be locked up, racist, bigot, islaomophobe etc... And one thing about Dexter, he has NEVER murdered any children, even ones he did not like or agree with. The only thing I have murdered is way too many beers, cigars and whiskey.

It seems that ABB REALLY LIKED this show. So why has there been no calls for this show to be censored or booted off the air? Dexter has been tied in to at least three murders that REALLY happened. Protected under Freedom of speech but hen aren't we all? Not if the first muslim potus has anything to do or say about it. This much we know. The rest is below.

The Dexter Factor
By Baron Bodissey

We all know that the mainstream media have a double standard when it comes to political ideology. If you are a conservative — or even worse, a nationalist — you are held to a different standard than that applied to progressives and socialists. Those are just the rules of the game, and it’s been that way for a long time.

The double standard was glaringly revealed when the reading preferences of the man who confessed to committing last week’s atrocities in Norway were revealed. Anyone holding the wrong political opinions — especially “Islamophobic” ones — was held indirectly responsible for the murder of all those innocent people. None of those so implicated had ever supported or advocated violence, yet their writings were deemed to be an “inspiration” for the killer.

Many thanks to our Washington correspondent Frontinus for discovering an example of the other side of this double standard: a television program which the Oslo murderer loved, and which glorified a depraved serial killer. The same program has already inspired other successful murderers — so where is the liberal outrage?

The silence is deafening.

Norway Mass Murder: The Dexter Factor
by Frontinus

The appalling killing in Norway, and its purported justification via a 1500 page “compendium” by the mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik under the pseudonym “Andrew Berwick,” has let loose a remarkably well-coordinated campaign against any intellectuals who have opposed Islamisation or jihadists in Europe, a campaign pursued with meticulous precision by the New York Times, the leftwing blogs and the European press, executed against political leaders (Wilders, Merkel, Cameron, Sarkozy et al), against authors of books and opeds and essays, against human rights activists, anyone who has written or acted against violent jihad or the imposition of the violent doctrines of Shariah in western nations.

But no one is talking about the Dexter Factor, which is this: “Andrew Berwick” liked the Dexter cable series about a ruthless and completely deceptive serial killer.

A ruthless and completely deceptive killer, a narrator detailing his murderous plans, proud of his clever ability to escape detection.

“Andrew Berwick” didn’t just watch Dexter, he found it “hilarious.” He wrote: “I am currently watching Dexter, the series about that forensic mass murderer. Quite hilarious. I’m also looking forward to watch the new movie-series about Carlos the Jackal (the Marxist-Islamist and Che wannabe scumbag).” He mentioned Dexter a second time in a list of other television programs he likes, a fanboy mixing explosives chatting about his viewing habits.

The Dexter series is about a forensic analyst for the Miami Police Department, on the surface a mild-mannered and psychopathically deceptive lab technician, secretly a serial killer. A brutal, methodical, self-justifying serial killer. The Dexter series is dedicated to glamorizing serial killing, with a focus on the mechanics of execution. A show explicitly and unashamedly glamorizing evil, justifying evil, and training in the specific operations of evil. With, of course, the occasional post-modern ironic, self-referential moment of doubt, to make it all a bit more socially acceptable.

No shaming for Dexter’s author, directors, actors, producers, advertisers. No shaming for them for being cited in “Berwick’s” compendium, no stern demands for censorship from the New York Times or the always trendy European media.

There are several glaring discrepancies in media coverage of the heartbreaking and enraging attack in Norway, but this one is obvious: this mass murderer “Andrew Berwick,” aka “Anders Behring Breivik” was a fan of a show about a serial killer that is widely reported to have been watched by, and said to have inspired, other murderers.

Of course, why would the media ever report on that? It is, to use that always useful phrase, “an inconvenient truth.”

Some background: Dexter is based on a series of novels by Jeff Lindsay with titles like “Dexter is Delicious” and “Dearly Devoted Dexter.” It airs on the cable network Showtime and in 2008, edited reruns began running on CBS. The actor Michael C. Hall plays the main character. Producers over the years have included Daniel Cerone, Clyde Phillips, Melissa Rosenberg, Clyde Phillips and Chip Johannessen. It’s received a lot of awards and presumably earned many people lots and lots of money. Nihilistic brutality and a “how-to” on escaping detection turns out to be a winning and lucrative programming formula.

But there have been costs to all that success — borne tragically and criminally by others. Dexter had been associated with at least three other murders before it was cited by fan and mass murderer “Andrew Berwick.”

Dexter Factor Murder #1: In 2008, Johnny Brian Altinger, 38, was reported missing October 10th. On October 31st Mark Andrew Twitchell, 29, was charged with first-degree murder. You can read the details of the crime here, where CBC News reported that:

Anstey said they were led to the garage because Altinger had e-mailed a friend the directions where he was told to go, and the friend kept that e-mail.

On his Facebook page, Twitchell is revealed to be a huge fan of the Showtime program Dexter, which follows the exploits of Dexter Morgan, a blood-spatter expert for the Miami police who also leads a secret life as a serial killer.

“We have a lot of information to suggest he definitely idolizes Dexter,” Anstey said.

Anstey also alleged the police have evidence that Twitchell tried to emulate the character.

Dexter Factor Murder #2: In December 2009, 17 year old Andrew Conley confessed to murdering his 10 year old brother Conner Conley. You can read the details of the crime here. Local news station WLWT reported:

Prosecutors said Conley admitted to police that he’d fantasized about killing someone since he was in eighth grade, and compared himself to a fictional serial killer on a cable television series.

“Andrew stated that he watches a show called ‘Dexter’ on Showtime, about a serial killer,” prosecutors said in an affidavit. “He stated, ‘I feel just like him.’“

Dexter Factor Murder #3: In April, 2011, Maartens van der Merwe, 24, and Chané van Heerden, 20, were arrested in Welkom, South Africa, in connection with the death of 24-year-old Michael van Eck. You can read the details of the crime here as reported in the local Afrikaans paper Nuus 24, in google translation:

Several people close to the couple has any connection to organized Satanism denies and instead focused on a history of psychological problems and a fantasy world where the two lived.

The couple loved the bloodthirsty TV series Dexter and the Van Zyl family says the couple’s relationship was a mirror image of a deadly, deadly partnership in the latest season of the TV series. …

In their world was the character Dexter Morgan and Pierce Lumen of the TV series Dexter.

Maartens van der Merwe and van Heerden Chané loved the series about a forensic bloeddeskundige which is actually a serial killer and include opkap corpses.

They met Dexter and Lumen in real life and on Facebook called.

The newly engaged couple have five season of Dexter regularly Van der Merwe’s PC views.

It develops the story in a macabre partnership between Dexter and Lumen which then begins with murder.

They are attracted to each other due to the “dark passengers” or dark side of their personality that they recognize and nurture each other.

And it’s disturbing similar to what Van Heerden and Van der Merwe had happened, said Dusty van Zyl, a close friend.

Is it free speech for Dexter’s producers to create television programming that reportedly inspires murderers — including being cited by “Andrew Berwick” before he committed a mass murder? Absolutely.

Is it hypocritical of publications across Europe — and America — to accuse those whose writings are against violence, of influencing Berwick/Breivik, while saying nothing about his enthusiasm for a program reported to have influenced at least three other murderers?

Absolutely.

Actually, I’m just curious. If asked by someone in the media or law enforcement about the Norway mass murderer’s enthusiasm for their show — what will Showtime, CBS, Daniel Cerone, Clyde Phillips, Melissa Rosenberg, Clyde Phillips, Chip Johannessen and Michael C. Hall say? That they are not responsible for being watched and cited in a madman’s ranting?

But then, if they are not responsible — if this trendy brutal show’s producers and writers are not responsible for influencing Breivik — then why are the media holding responsible these other political leaders, writers, human rights activists and journalists worldwide who oppose brutality rather than making a buck off it?

That’s the question posed by the Dexter Factor.

The harrassment of the counterjihad in Australia: Martin Brennan

In case any of you are wondering if the harassment and vilification of any and all that oppose the spread of islam and sharia law might be a nightmare that is short lived... dream on.

From Australia:This next article is a direct statement from Martin Brennan from down under, who was recently arrested for.... wait for it.....his activities with the ADL, Australian Defence League and for being anti-islamic.

Foul language has been redacted to keep this somewhat clean!

"As of today I am being held ILLEGALLY in custody....they claim this has nothing to do with the ADL but on my 2nd day of detention I was interviewed in depth by the police about the ADL. I'm not stupid this is why I am here. They are doing to me what the British government are doing to Tommy, trying to silence us.

Also since I have been here I have been starved as all food is halal and they are refusing to give me non-halal food, and as far as safety goes I am surrounded by Iraqi, Afghan and Iranians many whom are extreme. There are also muslim screws here who treat me like XXXX as they know what I do, and there is nothing stopping them from telling them who I am."

Free Martin Brennan
July 26, 2011

HELLO MEMBERS AS PROMISED MY STATEMENT.......
On the morning of the 19th July (2011) at 6am I was arrested by the police and immigration at my place of residence.

I was arrested as they claimed I was an unlawful citizen of Australia. When I was being interviewed, they claimed they cancelled my status because I failed to fill out all paperwork that was required for residency. They claimed that they posted various forms to my address, which I must confess they may have done, but as I moved address and did not notify immigration I didn't receive the relevant forms. Now I know that I was obliged to notify immigration of any change of address. This I am guilty of.

They claim my visa was cancelled on the 17th march, 2010. I also signed a declaration on my visa form stating that they could contact me via email or telephone about visa matters. They never did. This is where the conspiracy starts.

As soon as I moved into my new address I went on the national tenacy database, registered my business there and all my details so why did it take them 14 months to find me??? As you know, I have been working with the police for a while now via the ADL, so when they did checks on me why didn't it show me as being illegal????

During my first interview they were adamant I was never going to be let out in Australia again and said I would be deported in days. I just couldn't XXXXXXX believe what was happening to me.

Due to great friends in very high places I got put on to a top class Lawyer who could not believe this either and he has said he will get me sorted. I was due for release this morning, but they have put a block on this, under a section law. This law expired on the 1st July 2011 and my lawyer stated this and ordered my immediate release. Again it was denied.

Tomorrow morning he is having a meeting with the shadow immigration minister whom he is good friends with to take this matter further. As of today I am being held ILLEGALLY in custody....they claim this has nothing to do with the ADL but on my 2nd day of detention I was interviewed in depth by the police about the ADL.

There are also muslim screws here who treat me like XXXX as they know what I do, and there is nothing stopping them from telling them who I am.

And one more thing. I have been in need of medical treatment for days and was denied till my lawyer threatened them with a subpoena. I am now on morphine due to my chronic back pain.

THIS TREATMENT OF ME IS NOT ON AND I CAN PROMISE YOU GUYS I WILL XXXXXXX FIGHT THIS ALL THE WAY, I AM SURROUNDED BY MUSLIMS.. GETTING STARVED BUT AM AS STRONG AS EVER....THE GOVERNMENT HAVE PICKED ON THE WRONG MAN AND I XXXXXXX SWEAR I WILL FIGHT TO THE DEATH...GUYS THIS IS WHERE I NEED YOUR SUPPORT FROM THE OUTSIDE....I GIVE YOU THE GO AHEAD TO DO WHATEVER YOU THINK POSSIBLE, BOMBARD THE MEDIA, PAPERS TV RADIO AND ON SATURDAY MAKE ME XXXXXXX PROUD OF YOU ALL!!

MARTIN BRENNAN...THE MAN THAT DOESN'T KNOW WHAT SURRENDER MEANS!!!!
RESPECT TO YOU ALL, NOW LETS CAUSE A MASSIVE STIR N.F.S.E

Linking the killings in Norway to ???? Many so called journalists have not got a clue!

Since July 22nd there have been many accusation flung at those who are from the right, Conservatives, Christians, at anyone who takes a stand against islam, muslim immigration and sharia law. The vilification has been swift and completely inaccurate without any credible sources that the counterjihadist movement is wildly racist, islamophobic, muslimphobic and calling for the murder of muslims or other immigrants to Europe.

Nick McAvelly has kindly granted me permission to re-post this excellent article about how some journalists have taken license with the above, now including books the killer, Anders Breivik may have read and mentioned in his 'manifesto'.

Along with the sites Gates Of Vienna, Jihad Watch, Robert Spencer, Baron Bodissey, Fjordman just to name a few, books that many of us may or may not have read have been linked to the massacre commited at the hands of Breivik on July 22nd. Mind you, the linkage is pure poppycock and bull feathers. I could use foul words but strive to keep it pretty clean here.

Nick does an outstanding job here and less I take anything away or keep you from his excellent post, I will now shut up and let you read after a few more words: Take a visit to Nick's site, The Frozen North. You will find it is time very well spent. Trust me, as you know you can!

Anders Breivik
The spree killing in Norway
By Nick McAvelly

The only thing to write about this week is what has happened in Norway. Geir Lippestad is the lawyer representing the alleged perpetrator of the spree killing at Oslo and Utøya Island, Anders Breivik. His lawyer is currently saying that Breivik appears to be insane, but that it’s difficult to describe him further, because Breivik is ‘not like anyone else’. This hasn’t stopped journalists from trying to describe Breivik, or from going further and trying to suggest what his motives might be for carrying out such a wicked act.

Journalists are trained to report on events, not to analyse them. And they have their own agenda when covering stories like this. One journalist on Sky News’ press review a couple of nights ago pointed to a front page photo of Breivik and said that as journalists, that was what they wanted. A photo of a killer’s face. He quickly apologised to the families of the victims, who obviously might feel just a tad upset at the thought of seeing Breivik smirking at them over their cornflakes in the morning, then he repeated his point that as journalists, they wanted such a photo on their front cover. The presenter of the programme quickly moved on.

There are very few journalists who have sufficient knowledge of theology or philosophy to be able to begin putting acts of evil into any kind of meaningful context. The best that most journalists can do is pore over the alleged perpetrator’s internet life, and then report that apparently Breivik had read lots of different books. One of these was On Liberty, by John Stuart Mill:

“The object of this Essay is to assert one very simple principle, as entitled to govern absolutely the dealings of society with the individual in the way of compulsion and control, whether the means used be physical force in the form of legal penalties, or the moral coercion of public opinion. That principle is, that the sole end for which mankind are warranted, individually or collectively, in interfering with the liberty of action of any of their number, is self-protection. That the only purpose for which power can be rightfully exercised over any member of a civilized community, against his will, is to prevent harm to others. His own good, either physical or moral, is not a sufficient warrant. He cannot rightfully be compelled to do or forbear because it will be better for him to do so, because it will make him happier, because, in the opinions of others, to do so would be wise, or even right. These are good reasons for remonstrating with him, or reasoning with him, or persuading him, or entreating him, but not for compelling him, or visiting him with any evil in case he do otherwise. To justify that, the conduct from which it is desired to deter him, must be calculated to produce evil to some one else. The only part of the conduct of any one, for which he is amenable to society, is that which concerns others. In the part which merely concerns himself, his independence is, of right, absolute. Over himself, over his own body and mind, the individual is sovereign.” (John Stuart Mill, On Liberty)

As anyone familiar with On Liberty knows, Mill argued that if individuals are not violating what is known as the ‘Harm Principle’ then they should not be subject to the powers of the state, or even be coerced by their fellow citizens, to make them behave differently. The young people who lost their lives last week at Utøya Island were of course harming no one.

Even if one believes that another person is somehow wrong, either in their thinking or behaviour, Mill argued that, at most, one may remonstrate with them, reason with them, or try to persuade them that they are wrong. A far cry from blowing people up with a car bomb or shooting them with a rifle.

It is therefore puzzling to find journalists mentioning Mill when they write about the horrific events at Oslo and Utøya Island. When they do so, they provide no linkage between Mill’s writing and the spree killing itself. This is because there actually is no causal link.

Playing devil’s advocate, it may be said that Anders Breivik, the alleged perpetrator of the spree killings at Utøya, had at some point physically turned the pages of the book, and read Mill’s On Liberty. Then again, so have hundreds of thousands of undergraduate philosophy students. Breivik also appears to have read George Orwell’s 1984. This book is regarded as one of the greatest novels ever written, and it has been read by millions of people. Ask anyone who has read either of these books to give their moral assessment of the spree killing at Oslo and Utøya, and they will inform you that it was an act of almost unparalleled evil. This is because there is nothing in either of those books to make anyone reading them believe that murdering innocent teenagers is anything but an evil act. There is no legitimate reason to link either George Orwell or John Stuart Mill to the spree killing in Norway.

It’s natural to try to find some kind of explanation for acts of wickedness, and of course, journalists are paid to say something about whatever has happened on any given day. It’s understandable that journalists would trawl the internet for any information they can find about the alleged perpetrator, and use that information to help them write an article before their deadline expires. But saying that Breivik read Mill and Orwell sheds no light on his motives. Apparently, Breivik was a fan of Jeremy Clarkson. Are we supposed to think that watching Top Gear drove him to murder?

There is a fundamental problem with reporters noting that the alleged perpetrator of the spree killing in Norway read certain books or watched certain TV programmes at some undefined point in the past, and then allegedly carried out a wicked act in July 2011. One TV programme most of us will remember is The West Wing, starring Martin Sheen as President Jed Bartlet. In Season 1, episode 2 of the programme, entitled post hoc, ergo propter hoc, Bartlet discusses that fallacy with his advisors. (See link.) In the scene, Leo McGarry, played by John Spencer, tells us what the latin expression means: After it, therefore because of it. Martin Sheen then explains the fallacy itself to us: “It means one thing follows the other, therefore it was caused by the other. It’s not always true. In fact it’s hardly ever true.” The logic is clear: Even if event x happens before event y, that does not mean x caused y.

And here’s the problem: Much has been made of the alleged perpetrator of this spree killing having read essays written by the Scandanavian blogger Fjordman. By mentioning this blogger’s name in newspaper reports covering the spree killing at Utøya, readers are quietly being invited to commit that fallacy.

Although, like many others. I read Orwell and Mill years ago, I’ve only read one essay by Fjordman. I recently looked up his work and read the first of his series entitled The History of Beer. It was interesting enough, if a little dry. The point here is that, as someone who has been sober for more than ten years, I can state categorically that if I were to fall off the wagon and return to my old ways, it would not be because I read Fjordman’s thoughts on the history of beer. If I choose to act in a destructive way, then that is my decision and no one else’s. Reading an essay by a Scandanavian blogger would have absolutely nothing to do with it.

One thing may precede another, but that doesn’t mean that it caused it. To put it another way: I could go outside now wearing just my underpants, and dance around in the trees waving my arms in the air. If it started raining five minutes later, that wouldn’t mean I’d been doing a rain dance.

There is no causal link whatsoever between anyone reading an essay or a book, at least not an everyday book that does not claim to be divinely inspired, and their deciding, years later, to commit a wicked act. The responsibility for such an act belongs to the perpetrator alone. If Anders Behring Breivik has chosen to do evil, then it is he who will face judgement for it, both in this world and the next.

The New York Times Editorial on Oslo

Gary Fouse
fousesquawk
http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/

It is hardly surprising that the New York Times would take the lead in linking the Norwegian terrorist to the right-wing, Christian conservatives and anyone who would speak out against the outrages that come out of the Islamic world on an almost daily basis.

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/25/us/25debate.html?_r=1&hp

The writer, Scott Shane, takes particular aim at bloggers and activists like Robert Spencer and Pam Geller. That is hardly fair. Virtually none of the individuals or organizations mentioned in this article has expressed anything other than shock and disgust of what happened Friday in Norway. Nobody is celebrating and nobody is expressing support for this evil act. Had the victims been Muslim, the reaction would be the same. It was wrong-period.

It is undeniable that many people, both in Europe and America, have spoken out against Islamic terror, as well as shariah law and its attempt to gain a foothold in the West. In Europe, especially, uncontrolled immigration has disrupted virtually every western European country. One reason is that Europe never attempted to assimilate their immigrants, most of whom came to do manual labor or came as refugees-real and imagined. Immigration is a positive thing as long as it is controlled and people come and stay legally. That immigration in the US and Europe has broken down (due to different factors) is clearly the fault of our political leaders.

It is true that decades ago, when the first Turkish Gast Arbeiters (guest workers) began arriving in Germany, many were met with discrimination. A German writer actually went undercover posing as a Turkish shop cleaner, experienced the discrimination, and wrote a book about it (Ganz Unten-"At the very bottom").

Things are different now. We have the specter of Islamic terrorism sweeping the world and militant Muslims on the march, many openly telling us that we will all become Muslim. That has offended many people on both sides of the Atlantic. In Europe, most countries - including Norway-are witnessing a dramatic upsurge in crime committed by Muslim immigrants, who, as stated, have generally arrived as part of worker-refugee families with little education and a resultant low degree of assimilation or any regard for the host country values and culture. Their abominable behavior-as always- hurts the decent Muslims in Europe just trying to live better lives and become part of their new country. That applies here as well. When a group like Hizb-ut- Tahrir holds a conference in Chicago and speakers get up and rant and rave about the US, while predicting a world-wide caliphate under shariah law, people are going to be offended. That is not racism.

It is undeniable that Muslims, especially in Europe, are not popular. Yet, is it simple Islamophobia or racism-as the Times writer would have us believe to be angry about seeing sections of major cities become areas where they dare not enter? Is it racist to resent entire streets in Paris being illegally closed off and used for Muslim prayers? Is it racist to fear that your country will not belong to the indigenous people in 20-30 years? Is it racist to resent riots in the streets by immigrants? Is it racist to resent the fact that Jews can no longer walk the streets of the cities they have lived in for decades wearing Jewish garb because of harassment and assault by Muslim immigrants? Is it racist to resent an ideology (political Islam) that will strip away the rights that people, especially women, Jews, gays and non-Muslims enjoy as a given? Is it racist to fear Islamic terrorism? Is it racist to rebel against hate and intolerance itself?

This is where the Times is blatantly unfair. This phenomena in Europe-and to a lesser extent in the US- cannot be laid strictly on the doorstep of white, Christian, conservative racists. If there were no such thing as Islamic terrorism, and Muslim immigrants simply wanted to find a better life in the West, it would be certainly racist to not welcome them just because they have a different skin color, speak a different language or practice a different religion. I think that Asian immigrants from the Far East fit into each of those categories, but they are not being met with the same resentment. Why?

The action of one crazed gunman cannot be used to paint entire classes of people. Yet, for the Times and the left, it presents them with just such an opportunity. First it was Timothy McVeigh; now it is Anders Breivik. Two deranged individuals; two horrific acts. This is not a trend. The people they represent is a minuscule group of fanatics. They do not represent Pam Geller or Robert Spencer. They don't represent Gates of Vienna. I read Gates of Vienna. I have heard Geller and Spencer speak. They do not call for the murder of anybody. Nor do I think they are calling for mass deportations, which would not be reasonable. What is reasonable is to crack down on the criminals and troublemakers and send them packing. It is also reasonable to tell would-be immigrants that they are expected to come legally, assimilate, obey the law and accept our values. If they do, I say, "Welcome."

The Oklahoma City bombing was in 1995. Oslo was 16 years later. If, God forbid, other such attacks occur, I would predict they will be few and far between. There will not be a rash of similar attacks by like-minded people. Yet, how many acts of terror inspired by Jihad have occurred in the 16 years between McVeigh and Breivik? There is no excuse for our politically-correct Department of Homeland Security to lose its focus and operate as though the threats are the same from both sides.

Yet, the challenge for those of us who are speaking out is not to be radicalized a'la Breivik and lash out at all Muslims. Most are not terrorists or even terrorist sympathizers. Most probably, deep in their hearts, don't care about the whole world being one big, fat Islamic caliphate. I still hold to the view that the Muslims I know appreciate the liberties they enjoy here in America. To them I say, "Stand with us against the bad guys."
