Guest commentary by Kendra Adams: The Legality and morality of Burn the qur'an day

This is a guest commentary on "Burn the qur'an day" by Kendra Adams. Some of you may recognize her name. Kendra is well schooled about islam and sharia law. She has been a vocal voice against islam and the problems that it brings to the table. Kendra has been very active in educating people about islam, and that this is THE primary way to defeat islam. Knowledge is power. We can never have enough knowledge about islam and sharia. We must never be silent or still against islam. Even if the government eventually strips us our right to freedom of speech, we must not be silent. Time is running out and tomorrow may be too late.

Just so you know, this commentary was in response to the article that you can read below. This article appeared in the Washington Times. I have NOT altered her comments very much. I did arrange them a bit so the flow of her comments reads better. These were put together from several comments. I asked for her permission to use her commentary and she very graciously granted me permission to use them.

Contemplating Burn the qur'am day.
By Kendra Adams

As we are contemplating both the legality and morality of this act of defiance please consider the following commentary by Kendra Adams.

I understand your reluctance to endorse this koran burning day, but there is no legality to contemplate. It's clearly legal as is burning a bible or an American flag or marching against Jews and Israel. . . it's perfectly legal, so I hope you're not spending too much time contemplating that issue. Morality? Maybe. . . I can concede that there is an ethical issue-- I'm not sure moral, but the difference is slight.

I wouldn't have suggested this as an commemorative event, but now that it's suggested, and now that it has all this publicity, I think the consequences of CANCELING this far outweigh the consequences of following through with it. This is a flashpoint. The troops are aware they have an enemy and they will be prepared. Others traveling there should also be prepared at this point and should have always realized the countries they were visiting were enemy territory. This does NOT mean I have no empathy for anyone who might suffer from this. I do, more than you can know-- and I have, for years, been upset over the victims of Jihad and Muslim oppression worldwide.

The Christians burning the Koran aren't driven by hate, even if you find that hard to believe. The Koran is full of hatred against all non-Muslims, as you must know, with specific hatred directed at Jews. (To be fair, though, had there been more Christians where Mohammed was at the time, I'm sure the hatred would have been divided more equally.)

A line in the sand

Canceling now is just a signal to these people that we will always capitulate and will go out of our way to appease them. And, historically, what has that brought us? It has brought us more demands for appeasement. We do nothing every single time they kill us. This isn't the Church's fault in Florida . This is Islam and this is also the result of years of pretending they're our friends and pretending that Islam is peaceful and that some shared humanity would supersede their doctrinal mandates. The only thing that will defeat them is acknowledging this doctrine, this ideology, and this enemy. If it's not this event in Florida that we are now prepared for, it will be another event, another attack at another time when we are less prepared. Then another one.

If you look at Holder, at Hannity, at the State Dept. Crowley guy-- they are all clearly driven by fear-- by centuries of dhimmitude and acquiescing. Their responses should have been defending their 1st amendment right at all costs because that's what we do in America. . .that's the BENEFIT of living in America and why patriotic Americans LOVE America.

If they cancel now, we might as well just welcome them in with a red carpet and surrender. That's exactly what this teeny tiny event in Florida has turned into-- a huge symbol. If the government forces them somehow to cancel, this will be a symbol to the enemy that we have surrendered. Melodramatic, I don't think so.

I don't think the pastor is trying to persuade Moderate Muslims. . . I don't think this is about Moderate Islam. Although, really, why shouldn't so-called moderates support this pastor? Of course, they SHOULD. The fact that they don't, to me, means they aren't quite so moderate after all-- unless moderate just means Muslim without the beard.

Emotions, running to the extreme

What about emotions? Well, this has turned into an emotional issue. It wasn't until we saw all the government officials and "conservative" analysts and pundits and religious leaders sell out the first amendment right to protest in favor of Islam and making these absurd relativist comparisons. Yes, that's become emotional because I think we didn't realize that we were quite this far gone. . . I think we still thought these folks had some reason or spine or whatever. So, that realization has been a little emotional, but the arguments here are completely rational and justified.

Ripping out pages?

I think that ripping a page out and saying, "This page states to kill Christians" and then burning it, and, "This page says Jews are the descendents of apes and pigs" and then burning it would be a good thing, too. . . and then handing what's left (20%?) to the press afterwards would also be beneficial to "the cause". . . it's a book! It's just some pages glued to cardboard! . . . I really don't think that not burning it is essential. . . and ripping it would be just as damaging, really, since it's still considered desecrating their holy books. . . I know I was wishy washy earlier, but I'm for burning it.

The dhimmis who are against this action

These people, who have spoken out against it-- Patraeus included-- are driven JUST BY FEAR. We cannot be afraid We are at war. The truth is, we are AT WAR with these people. Appeasing them this time will have NO LONG TERM BENEFIT. NONE! Unfortunately, it looks as if EVERY SINGLE commentator and analyst and gov't official (except for Bloomberg, irony of ironies) don't seem to get this or don't want to or are buying into the Patraeus BS. Sorry, Patraeus is WRONG. Everyone says the military is fighting for our freedoms and to defend our Constitution-- and the 1st Amendment is enshrined in our Constitution. Acquiescing or capitulating would be the worst thing, I think. After that, they know they've won and they can push for anything. . . we might as well criminalize hate speech or criticism of Islam, or anything else they wish to do-- and they will ask. . . they will expect us to alter our expectations of freedom. They will become emboldened."

Our rights under the First Amendment of the Constitution

There is nothing wrong with protest and that's what we do in America. As a matter of fact, it is our patriotic duty to protest against oppressive regimes. I believe Islam is an oppressive regime. Do you really think NOT burning the Koran will make Islam any less oppressive and hateful? That they will think, "Oh, they DO like us, okay, we can stop the jihad?" No, the only thing they will see if this event is cancelled is that their pressure worked and they can now ask for more privileges and they will know they can push farther. Historically, this has ALWAYS been the case, always. If you can name ONE time that appeasement has worked with an enemy driven by this fanatical ideology, please do so now."
