Remember Aqsa Parvez? Murdered in an honor killing in Canada. Please read!

Aqsa parvez was brutally murdered in an honor killing. She was tossed into an unmarked grave and left there to be forgotten for eternity. Thanks to Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs and many other bloggers and contributors, Aqsa received a proper burial and rememberance. One which was tough to accomplish as many places were afraid to insult Islam by properly honoring her and letting the truth be known about her horrific demise. Now read what this Canadian Imam has said about Aqsa parvez and honor killings in general. This is an outrage and an insult to the entire Western world. Islam is completely incompatible with the West and this is just more proof that Islam will never be able to assimilate into Western culture and society.

Canadian Imams Fail to Decry Violent Honor Killing of Aqsa Parvez
By Christine Williams

NewsRealBlog: As Canada continues to reel over the violent ‘honor killing’ of Aqsa Parvez and the country awaits a public outcry from Islamic leaders, it was met with a kick in the face from an imam representing a noted organization.

Imam Zijad Delic of the Canadian Islamic Congress said there is “nothing Islamic” in taking a human life.

He calls it a personal issue more than a cultural one and suggested perpetrators are not unlike the white, Canadian born mother who suddenly kills her children in that both are ultimately unable to deal with the challenges of domestic life.

This imam’s statement is nothing short of infuriating and insults the memory of Aqsa and other women who have suffered a brutal death in the name of so-called honor. His ghastly comment is a deliberate attempt to veil the issue through deception. The naive among us will only see Delic’s single point that taking human life is not limited to a single culture. In the case of Aqsa however, we can not afford to ignore the conspicuous dimension that caused her to be murdered: the act was perpetuated by a cultural tradition rooted in the misogynistic tenets of the Qur’an.

These teachings advocate (among other things): women as property (tilth), spanking her to control her, and the horrendous practice of child marriage, which in many instances causes death to prepubescsent young victims who are biologically ill-equipped for the consummation of these marriages. Such cases have been frequently highlighted in places like Yemen and Afghanistan. One Unicef study found that “from 2000 to 2008, the brides in 43 percent of Afghan marriages were under 18.”

Diana Nammi, founder of the London-based International Campaign Against Honour Killings, told Canwest News Service:

"When people are moving to another country, they leave everything they have, all their possessions, behind. But what they can bring with them is what they believe, their culture, their traditions, their religion … Unfortunately, they are choosing to show the worst part of that, and the worst and criminal part of that is controlling women."

Kudos to Nammi for calling a ’spade a spade’ in her mention of both the cultural and religious components.

Amin Muhammad is a professor of psychiatry at Memorial University of Newfoundland who would like to see stiffer sentences for honor murder and warns that Multicultural Canada will see more such crimes. Though expending meritorious efforts to marginalize the heinous practice of honor killings, Dr. Muhammad is a little less than honest: "The concept of honour is especially powerful because it exists beyond reason and beyond analysis. But what masquerades as ‘honour’ is really men’s need to control women’s sexuality and their freedom. These murders are not based on religious beliefs but, rather, deeply rooted cultural ones."

Dr. Mohammad’s statement exposes the “clash of cultures” between democracy and Shariah, but these murders are rooted in Qur’anic teachings that are extremely oppressive and damaging to women and young girls. When moderates like Mohammad work on behalf of the Aqsas of the world, they choose to defy the letter of such teachings. While we need to acknowledge this and support the efforts of moderates, we cannot afford to minimize the meaning of what was committed against Aqsa in the name of the Muslim religion which feeds such radicalism. This recognition stands as a basis for a call by many for Muslim Reform.

Mohammad goes on to say that while Muslims are involved in “many recent cases,” that “honour killings have also been committed in the name of Hinduism, Sikhism and Christianity.” A likely story. From a Christian perspective, any person that would commit an honor killing (or any other violence against women) in the name of Christianity will do so unsupported by Christian doctrine. I challenge anybody to find one text in Christian scriptures that advocates any violence whatsoever against women, from spanking her to control her, to the taking of child brides.

One also needs to seriously ask the question: Why have the imams and Muslim clerics not come out openly in Canada to condemn what happened to Aqsa? And globally, the unspeakable violence and oppression against women are supported by mullahs, imams and Muslim clerics, if not openly–then by their silence.

Islamic lawmaker in Yemen calls child marriage ban part of 'Western Agenda.'

How tragically sad that this entire matter of child brides is causing an uproar in Yemen."Sheik Mohammed Hamzi, an official of the Islamist Yemeni opposition party Islaah and the imam of the Al-Rahman mosque in the Yemeni capital of Sana, is one of those who staunchly opposes a legal ban on child marriage.

Although he emphasizes that a woman should not get married before she is physically and mentally ready and that she herself needs to accept the marriage, he believes a law that prohibits child marriage constitutes a rights violation.

“I am against the child marriage law because it restrains the freedom of others. When a certain age [for marriage] is set, it violates the rights of others. For example, imagine a young man of 13 or 14 years of age who wants to have sex. … This is a violation of his rights,” Sheik Hamzi told The Times in an interview at his Sana home last week."

Swell piece of humanity here. Couldn't you not wait to introduce him to your parents? Fine man, this loser is. Check out his piggyness in the picture and then read on see how this is being fought in Yemen.

YEMEN: Islamic lawmaker decries child marriage ban
as part of 'Western agenda'

LA TIMES, The recent death of 13-year old Yemeni child bride Elham Assi, who reportedly bled to death last week after being tied down and forced to have sex with her 23-year-old husband, has sparked outrage among rights activists in Yemen.

They are now stepping up their lobbying efforts to push for the implementation of a child marriage ban.

But that may prove a daunting challenge since fierce opposition against a ban on child brides still runs high among some religious leaders and conservatives.

Sheik Mohammed Hamzi, an official of the Islamist Yemeni opposition party Islaah and the imam of the Al-Rahman mosque in the Yemeni capital of Sana, is one of those who staunchly opposes a legal ban on child marriage.

… This is a violation of his rights,” Sheik Hamzi told The Times in an interview at his Sana home last week.

Last week, representatives from various rights groups and independent activists met at the Women’ Media Forum, or WMF, in Sana to discuss ways to convince supporters of child marriage to back a proposal to set the mimum age for marriage at 17.

Lawmakers in February 2009 set the age limit for marriage at 17, but the law was repealed and returned to the Yemeni parliament's constitutional committee for review after some lawmakers objected to it and billed the law un-Islamic, according to the Associated Press. The committee is expected to make a final decision on the law later this month.

Two years ago, 9-year-old Yemeni child bride Nujoud Ali captured the world's attention and became a symbol of Yemen's child brides when she showed up in a Sana court and demanded a divorce from her 30-something husband.

Since then, several other cases of Yemeni child brides have been reported, and the issue also has been discussed and debated widely.

But Hazmi dismisses claims by rights groups that there is a problem with child marriages in his country. He said the child-bride cases that have been reported in the media were merely isolated incidents.

“Just ask my mother and sisters how many times they’ve found a little girl getting married at the marriages they’ve attended," he said. "Not many.”

The country's Ministry of Social Affairs, on the contrary, says child marriages are common in Yemen. According to a 2009 report by the ministry, a quarter of all females in Yemen marry before the age of 15.

To Hazmi, however, women's- and children's-rights activists are putting a few isolated cases of child marriage in the spotlight to rally support for the law.

"There is no problem here with child marriage," he said. "These cases of young girls getting married are exceptions. These organizations that are promoting for this law couldn’t find any examples except for those of Nujoud and Elham."

Hazmi said the groups that are campaigning for the law were harmful to the country, trying to promote a "Western agenda" in Yemen.

“It’s all a Western agenda they are following," he said. "They get paid from the West to make us to believe in Western culture. This is very bad because our culture is different here."

The best that could happen, in his opinion, is that the government shuts them down.

“No one wants to marry these women's-rights activists anyway," he said. "They’re just depressed that they are not married and jealous.”

Would he allow his own young daughters to be married?

"No," he says and looks at the two as they're scurrying around in the room. "At this age, I don’t want them married."

Islam, Child Brides, Pedophilia and the pervert Mohammad

Islam is about the only religion that allows such a thing as much older men 'marrying' young girls as young as six years of age. After all the prophet(pervert and child molester)Mohammad married Aisha when she was just six years old and consummated the marriage when she was nine. What a noble guy Mohammad was; waiting until Aisha was all of nine years old. This continues today in Islam. Yemen, Egypt, Sudan and Indonesia are the worst offenders of this disgusting practice. Thanks to Traveler for sending this to me.

ISLAM AND CHILD BRIDES
By Traveler

PEDOPHILIA: sexual perversion in which children are the preferred sexual object.

What are the essential features of pedophilia?

Professors of psychiatry, Harold I.Kaplan MD and Benjamin J.Sadock MD. of New York University Medical School states the essential features to diagnose pedophilia are:

1. Identification with and narcissistic investment in immature sexual objects.

Muhammad's infatuation and relationship with Aisha fits this criterion. And Mohammad was vain too - he liked to use perfume and dye his hair (even as an old man).

2. Control, domination and seduction of children.

A slight recalcitrance on the part of his wives was met by intolerant threats like: "if he (Muhammad) divorce you, (Allah) will give him in your place wives better than you, submissive, faithful, obedient, penitent, adorers, fasters, widows and virgins." [K 66.5]

3. Sexual activity with children is preferential and occurs repeatedly.

Aisha was ever present, right up to his last fatal breath and he preferred spending his nights with her. Aisha became Muhammad's favorite wife. And the sexuality in the relationship was predominant. [Sahih Bukhari 1.270,3:36,7:6,3:148,3:149,3:150,7:142,IbnSa'd 1pg165]

Is menses necessary indicator of sexual maturity?

Sexual maturity is NOT PURELY RELATED TO MENSES as for some peculiar reasons many Muslims have tried to say. In the first place having or not having menses is not the criterion for sexual maturity, and thus of pedophilic behavior. We have cases here, of abducted girls, 12, 13, 14, well past their mens, and yet preferred by pedophiles as sexual objects.

Besides when Aisha was about 4-5 years old Muhammad started dreaming of a union with her [Sahih Bukhari 5:235]- I am sure Aisha was not menstruating then . Or do Arab girls menstruate at the age of 4-5?

From Islamic Holy Text

Sahih Muslim Book 008, Number 3310:
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) married me when I was six years old, and I was admitted to his house when I was nine years old.

Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64
Narrated 'Aisha: that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death).

Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 65
Narrated 'Aisha: that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old. Hisham said: I have been informed that 'Aisha remained with the Prophet for nine years (i.e. till his death)." what you know of the Quran (by heart)'

Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 88
Narrated 'Ursa: The Prophet wrote the (marriage contract) with 'Aisha while she was six years old and consummated his marriage with her while she was nine years old and she remained with him for nine years (i.e. till his death). Some Muslims claim that it was Abu Bakr who approached Muhammad asking him to marry his daughter. This is of course not true and here is the proof.

Sahih Bukhari 7.18
Narrated 'Ursa: The Prophet asked Abu Bakr for 'Aisha's hand in marriage. Abu Bakr said "But I am your brother." The Prophet said, "You are my brother in Allah's religion and His Book, but she (Aisha) is lawful for me to marry."

Volume 8, Book 73, Number 151:
Narrated 'Aisha: I used to play with the dolls in the presence of the Prophet, and my girl friends also used to play with me. When Allah's Apostle used to enter (my dwelling place) they used to hide themselves, BUT the Prophet would call them to join and play with me. (The playing with the dolls and similar images is forbidden, but it was allowed for 'Aisha at that time, as she was a little girl, not yet reached the age of puberty.) (Fateh-al-Bari page 143, Vol.13)

Volume 7, Book 62, Number 17:
Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah:
When I got married, Allah's Apostle said to me, "What type of lady have you married?" I replied, "I have married a matron' He said, "Why, don't you have a liking for the young virgins and for fondling them?" Jabir also said: Allah's Apostle said, "Why didn't you

Volume 7, Book 62, Number 67:
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "A matron should not be given in marriage except after consulting her; and a virgin should not be given in marriage except after her permission." The people asked, "O Allah's Apostle! How can we know her permission?" He said, "Her silence (indicates her permission)."
Where sex is akin to a crime, silence is admission of your guilt. What a corruption of "fitrah" (human nature).

What religion condones the destruction of childhood? What are we who daily avow our undying love for Allah to do against a system that ruthlessly oppresses its youngest and brightest?

What was Aisha's age? I have heard other figures ... (A question also known as: How many of your own sources will you deny?)

All the relevant sources (Bukhari, Ibn Hisham, Tabari, Ibn al-Athir, Ibn Sa'd, Ibn Hanbal, etc.) maintain that Aisha was betrothed to Mohammed when she was 6, and the marriage was consummated 3 years later.

'Mohammad - The Word of Allah' written by Anne-Marie Delcambre. (Anne-Marie Delcambre has a doctorate in 'Islamology', and taught Islamic Civilization at the Saint Joseph University of Beyrouth in Lebanon). On page 69, it says that he was married to her when she was 9 years old. Dates commonly accepted by scholars: Birth Muhammad (570), birth Aisha(614 or 615). Bethrothal (620 or 621), Consummation of marriage (623 or 624). In particular the "consummation" of marriage is said to have taken place after the hidjra in Shawwal 1 or 2. Between 621 and 623 Asiha is said to have contracted a disease whereby she temporarily lost her hair. (Ref 1)

She could not have been more than 10 years when she went to live in Muhammad's house. The fact that she took her toys with her to her new home indicates that she was psychologically and socially still a child. And the fact that she was allowed to play with DOLLS indicates that she had NOT reached puberty by this time. ("The playing with the dolls and similar images was(is) forbidden, but it was allowed for Aisha at that time, as she was a little girl, not yet reached the age of puberty."Fateh-al-Bari page 143, Vol.13).

Besides, there is also Aisha's own statement which implies that she had NOT reached puberty when she moved into Muhammad's house [Sahih Bukhari 7.163]. I am sure she would have been able to recount accurately as to when and where she got her first menses. Most girls do remember such events rather accurately. (Refs 2)

Muhammad had started to dream of a union with Aisha already when she was 4-5 years old: "You were shown to me twice (in my dream) before I married you... (And) I said (to myself), 'If this is from Allah, then it must happen." He was to use a similar tactic when he wanted to marry his step son's wife. A tactic which Aisha later came to understand as fraud, as in: "Aisha said: O Allah's Apostle! I do not see, but, that your Lord hurries in pleasing you." (Refs 2)

Muhammad wasted no time in realizing what he had been dreaming. Already when Aisha was 6 "The Prophet asked Abu Bakr for 'Aisha's hand in marriage. Abu Bakr said "But I am your brother." The Prophet said, "You are my brother in Allah's religion and His Book, but she (Aisha) is lawful for me to marry." Here it does not seem that Abu Bakr consented to the marriage wholeheartedly.

Modern day Stats:

In parts of Ethiopia and Nigeria, quite a number of girls are married before the age of 15 and some girls are married as young as the age of 7.

Yemen is full of child brides. Roughly half of Yemeni girls are married before 18, some as young as eight.

.In Saudi Arabia clerics have justified the marriage of girls as young as 9, with sanction from the judiciary. .There are no laws defining the minimum age for marriage in Saudi Arabia, and girls as young as eight years of age can marry.

Egypt, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Pakistan, India, and the Middle East: In the rural villages of these countries many young girls are rarely allowed out of their homes unless it is to work in the fields or to get married.

These uneducated girls are often married at the young age of 11. Some families allow girls who are only 7 years old to marry. It is very unusual for a girl to reach the age of 16 and not be married.

In Afghanistan, it is believed that between 60 and 80 percent of marriages are forced marriages.

Muslims will argue that Aisha was 19 or 20 or whatever. If that’s the case, how come so many Muslims get it wrong?

Emulate your Prophet:

* Saudi Arabia, August 2009. A Saudi Arabian father forced his 10-year-old daughter to return to her 80-year-old husband Sunday, after she was found hiding at the home of her aunt for 10 days. Arab News reported.
The young girl’s husband, who denies he is 80 despite family claims, accused the aunt of violating the terms of his marriage, allowed by Sharia Law.

”My marriage is not against Sharia. It included the elements of acceptance and response by the father of the bride,” he told a local newspaper.”

* Yemen, March 2010: Thousands of Yemeni women, their faces covered in religious veils, demonstrated outside the parliament on Sunday to oppose proposed legislation banning the marriage of girls under 17.

The protesters held up banners proclaiming "don't ban what Allah made permissible," or "stop violating Islamic sharia law in the name of rights and freedoms," .Answering calls by Muslim clerics who oppose the proposal on grounds it goes against Islamic sharia law, the protesters arrived in organized buses.

* Yemen, March 2010: Nujood Ali tells how at age 9 she was forced to marry a man three times her age, raped and beaten, then made Yemeni history by getting a divorce.

At around ages 9, her impoverished father -- who had more than a dozen children, agreed for her to marry a 30 year old .

She says he took her out of school, drove her with his family to a village, and raped her the first night of their marriage. "No matter how I screamed, no one came to help me. It hurt awfully, and I was all alone to face the pain,"

* Indonesia, March 2010: A fifth-grader only identified as AG, had to run away and sneak into school just to attend classes after her father forced her to marry a 60-year-old man...

AG was married by a cleric in front of their parents with an $11 dowry. She refused the marriage at first but their father beat her severely with a leather belt and punched her in the head.

* Yemen, March 2010: Elham Mahdi Shoi 12 dies from internal bleeding from intercourse, 3 days after her wedding to a 23 year old man.

The girl's mother, Nijma Ahmed, 50, told the a reporter that before her daughter lost consciousness, her husband had tied her up and forced himself on her. "She looked like she was butchered," she said about her daughter's injuries.

* Egypt, March 2010: Former State governor, Yeriman Bakura, 65, has married a thirteen-year-old Egyptian girl.

The former governor, now a senator, paid a bride price of $100,000. He also divorced one of his wives to facilitate the marriage. In Islam a man is only permitted to have four wives.
