Shark Feeding Frenzy at New Jersey Shore

Here is something a little different.

I have witnessed several shark feeding frenzy's but they were a long time ago off Catalina Island, Channel Islands up off Oxnard, California and down off Baja California. These involved Blue Sharks and were pretty far offshore as we were fishing for Albacore, Yellowtail and Yellowfin Tuna.

Shark feeding frenzy in Ocean County, NJ, shot August 16, 2012 . These sharks were aggressively feeding on menhaden (moss bunker). The frenzy came within 50 yards of the shoreline. The sharks were probably (according to marine scientists), brown sharks, juvenile blacktip and sandbar tiger sharks. This rare feeding frenzy started about a mile offshore and moved into the surf zone in a matter of minutes. This shark frenzy happened in the same state park where Chris Christie's Governor's Mansion is located. Video shot by Tom Lynch / AngryFish.tv
