China Confidential has learned that anti-Israel Samantha Power, a rising star in the Obama administration, and a main actor behind the costly, needless American intervention in Libya--on the side of Al Qaeda-linked rebels--is pushing Obama to recognize an independent state of Palestine consisting of Hamas-run Gaza, the disputed areas of the West Bank, and eastern Jerusalem, including the Old City. Israel, which the notoriously left-wing Power regards as a "mistake," must, in her view, be squeezed back behind its pre-1967 boundaries--indefensible borders that the late, great (and distinctly dovish) Israeli foreign minister, Abba Eban, referred to as "the Auschwitz lines."
Power, who enjoys support, incredibly, from so-called progressive (i.e. Communist-leaning), anti-Israel Jewish groups, is also reportedly pushing the President to withdraw aid to Israel and to channel the funds--billions of dollars--into a panoply of nation building projects in 'Palestine,' even if the new state comes under Islamist rule.

Confidential Reporter comments: As predicted over and again by this reporter, the Obama administration's appeasement of Islamist Iran--and Islamism in general--under cover of a perfidious policy of engaging (code for appeasing and attempting to align with) the international clerical fascist menace--has failed to prevent war. On the contrary, appeasement of radical Islam has made war inevitable--on the enemy's terms--just as appeasement of Adolf Hitler made war with Nazi Germany inevitable on its terms.
That an overwhelming majority of American Jewish voters actually voted for pro-Islamist Obama ... a mysterious, Marxist-influenced Third Worlder ... that most American Jews might still support him ... is an utter disgrace. Brainwashed from birth to support the Democratic Party ... enthralled by the very forces that seek (a) the downfall of the American Jewish community, (b) the radical restructuring of the world's greatest democracy--America--which has been a haven for the Jewish people and other oppressed minorities and a beacon of hope for humanity, and (c) the destruction (heaven forbid) of the brave, reborn Jewish State, American Jews, generally speaking, stupidly, suicidally cling to idiotic, Left/liberal ideas and myths in the face of looming catastrophe.

Bottom Line Up Front
Russia, China, Nigeria, Lebanon are sure votes of Yes, while Bosnia, Gabon are likely a yes.
US, UK, France, Germany, India and Brazil are likely to vote No. India will also vote No.
Colombia sees more benefit in voting with the US, so they are a No. Portugal may say No, also.
I do not see the 9 vote majority for a state of Palestine; however, my experience in the Middle East and West Africa tells me that the vote, either way, is not going to pass without violence.
