Man, Texas is so fortunate. I mean it. They get to look forward to In-N-Out Burgers opening up down there. I grew up on this food. We moved form Texas to Southern falicornia when I was seven. We always were going to their drive-ins as they have always served some of the BEST fast food one can find on the planet. I was also lucky enough to have friends who worked there all through high school so I always got really great deals, or free food for helping police the parking lot for trash or helping out in other ways. I am not a jealous person but I am over this. Will this great fast food company ever make it to Oregon? Probably not in my lifetime. Sighs and sniveling.....

In-N-Out Goin' to Texas

In-N-OutThe Lone Star State is about to go Animal Style. In-N-Out Burger, the beloved West Coast chain famous for its secret menu of burger preparations, is set to open at least eight Texas branches, the Orange County Register reports.

Until now the regional giant, which opened its first branch in 1948 in Baldwin Park, CA, has limited its locations to California, Utah, Arizona, and Nevada. And even that expansion has been slow — it took the company three years to open just eight restaurants in Utah.

Though Carl Van Fleet, In-N-Out's vice president of planning and development, says the chain may ultimately open units throughout Texas, for now its focus is limited to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, which he told the Register will keep them "plenty busy for the next several years."

In choosing new restaurant locations in the past, In-N-Out has limited its reach to within 500 miles of its Baldwin Park distribution center, which allows the company to deliver fresh 2-ounce patties several times a week. To maintain that quality as it expands, In-N-Out is building a second meat commissary in Texas. "We will be making our own In-N-Out Burger hamburger patties in Texas, fresh for our Texas restaurants," Van Fleet said.

But while Texans need to start brushing up on their In-N-Out lingo, Van Fleet says for now the company has no plans to open branches further east.
