Stoning is used as a capital punishment in several Islamic countries. Iran is one of them. Stoning is not a quick way to have your life terminated. Small rocks are used to prolong the guilty individual's suffering and pain for as long as possible. It is a cruel and barbaric way to go but then Islam and sharia law are quite barbaric. Stone age cruelty from a stone age ideology.
