Some may think the Obama administration is coming around on Israel with some of Obama's latest moves to smooth ruffled feathers over his horrible treatment of Israel. UN sanctions bill ties Israel’s hands

ObamaWatch: Obama has sold out Israel again. The administration just struck a deal with the UN that ill make it almost impossible for anyone to attack Iran.


The UN released a draft resolution that imposes economic sanctions on Iran. Obama has been halfheartedly pursuing such sanctions for a year now. The draft prohibits countries from selling Iran tanks, armored vehicles, artillery, combat aircraft, warships and “missiles or missile systems as defined for the purpose of the United Nations Register of Conventional Arms.” There’s just one problem: The United Nations Register of Conventional Arms states definitively that it “does not include ground-to-air missiles.”

This is significant for two reasons. First, it means that Israel and the United States can’t attack Iran. Iran is working feverishly to develop a tight anti-aircraft defense network and, if the draft goes through as planned, it can continue. Second, it means that Russia can continue selling S-300 anti-missile interceptors to Tehran.

All this led former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton to harshly criticize the Obama Administration in an e-mail to the Washington Times.

John R. Bolton, a former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, criticized the Obama administration for not closing the sanctions resolution loophole on the S-300, calling it “diplomatic malpractice.”

“It is further evidence that the Obama administration is preparing to accept a nuclear Iran,” Mr. Bolton said in an e-mail.

Defensive missile systems in Iran will provide a counterbalance to Israel, which wants to bomb Iranian nuclear sites. Obama has expressed blatant hostility to Israel, to the point of launching a diplomatic campaign to depose Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This is yet another step in tying Israel’s hands.
