Examiner.com: The decomposing body found on May 19, 2010 in an irrigation ditch has been positively identified as Kayleah Wilson. Kayleah Wilson vanished on March 28, 2010 while on her way to a birthday party in Greeley, Colorado. Her case was classified as endangered missing. There were no eyewitnesses, no clues and no evidence at the time of Kayleah’s disappearance.
Authorities had no idea what happened to Kayleah. The clues now will be determined from her autopsy and new evidence found at the crime scene. Police will not release the details of that evidence to the public at this time but confirmed that they found evidence which is undergoing forensic analysis.
Kayleah Wilson’s death has been ruled a homicide. This is crucial as it rules out the possibility that Kayleah Wilson had some sort of accident to explain her disappearance. Now, the investigation will focus on determining how Kayleah Wilson was murdered and tracking down her killer.
Greeley Police Chief Jerry Garner spoke from a news conference and said that the FBI is working in conjunction with the Greeley Police Department and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for what is now a homicide investigation.
