China Confidential, Notwithstanding an apparent achievement--read about it here--President Obama's so-called nuclear security summit is a clever circus that aims (a) to divert attention from his allowing Iran to come closer than ever to acquiring atomic arms, (b) to counter criticism of his revised nuclear policy, which, for the first time, formally assures non-nuclear weapons states that they can attack the United States with biological and chemical weapons without fear of nuclear reprisal, and (c) to set the stage for unprecedented pressure on beleaguered Israel to scrap its presumed nuclear deterrent.
