Here is my take on the Cambridge fiasco, which I put up on fousesquawk after reading Rick's posting:
Hat tip to my colleague Rick at Patriot's Corner for this article by Barry Rubin. It regards the decision by Cambridge University to cancel an appearance by Benny Morris, a respected Israeli historian.

So there it is; further evidence that we might as well write the Brits off. They have completely capitulated to the radical Islamists in their midst. Benny Morris, whom I have read, is a respected historian. Of course, the Palestinian lobby doesn't like him. I once heard that "noted historian" Norman Finklestein refer to Morris as an "ex-historian before he became a propagandist" (unlike Finklestein, of course).
So much for freedom of speech in Britain. So much for academic freedom in Britain. This is the same nation that took the pain to ban radio talk show host Michael Savage from entering their country because of his "offensive speech" airing out of San Francisco. That was done to balance the fact that they had banned some radical Islamist from entering Britain.
What would Winston Churchill say?

It does seem that the Brits and most of western europe have caved in to the Islamist! I'm waiting for the next riots in France to see if that changes anything--the Islamist got concesssions from the last round, and we know they will never be satisfied.
What would Winston Churchill say? ..he would not believe this for one nanosecond!
He would probably have a cigar
and whiskey and say some things
I cannot print. He would be
disgusted, to say the very
least.
