Caving in to islam, in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Once again the reek and wreckage of stealth jihad is wafting across our land. In long held, beloved liberal traditions of diversity, multiculturalism and political correctness, the Cambridge School District will now give one day off to honor a muslim holiday. Not a big deal, you say? I disagree and this is how it starts, islamic infiltration into all facets of our society, especially our education system. Next it may be anything negative said or portrayed about islam, muslims will be branded as hate speech(see the U.N. and the attempts of the OIC), or demands to accommodate muslim prayers times and ask for a 'prayer room', or hala foods served to students or the banning of all pork products from the school menus. If you do not think these things happen, guess again. This is stealth jihad. One little piece at time islam slithers in through the cracks in our own systems. From the Boston Globe. Thinking "what is right" for the few can have disastrous consequences for the rest of us. 1400 years of islamic history is all the proof we need.

School system to get Muslim holiday Cambridge to start observance in 2011-12
By Brock Parker

As a Muslim and a high school senior at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, 17-year-old Dunia Kassay faces a tough choice every year on Islamic holy days: go to school or stay home to be with family and friends.

Tweet 33 people Tweeted thisYahoo! Buzz ShareThis If she stays home, Kassay says, she will be forced to play catch-up and make up her school assignments. But if she goes to school, she will be neglecting what she feels is her religious obligation on holidays such as Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting.

“It’s really conflicting,’’ Kassay said. “Instead of fasting for a month and enjoying this really big day, eating and going to family’s houses, it’s kind of like, ‘Oh, hey, guys, I’ve got to go do my homework.’ ’’

But beginning next year, Cambridge public schools will attempt to make it easier for Muslim students to honor their highest holy days.

In a move that school officials believe is the first of its kind in the state, Cambridge will close schools for one Muslim holiday each year beginning in the 2011-2012 school year.

The school will either close for Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, depending on which holiday falls within the school year. If both fall within the school calendar, the district will close for only one of the days.

The school district’s decision, announced last month, was made as the national discussion about Islam continues, fueled by a Mosque proposal two blocks from the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York and Florida preacher Terry Jones’s threat to burn a Koran. The discussion has also touched local schools, as Wellesley school officials drew criticism recently for a video that showed sixth-grade students kneeling during a prayer service at a Boston mosque during a field trip in May.

But Cambridge School Committee member Marc McGovern, who pushed for the Muslim holiday in city schools, said he thinks people need to take a step back from what he called hysteria and the stereotypes of all Muslims as terrorists.

“At a time when I think the Muslim population is being characterized with a broad brush in a negative way, I think it’s important for us to say we’re not going to do that here,’’ McGovern said.

Cambridge schools already close for some Christian and Jewish holidays, and McGovern said he believes Muslims should be treated equally.

“The issue that sort of came up was should we celebrate any religious holidays, but there was not the will to take away Good Friday or one of the Jewish holidays,’’ he said. “So I said, if that is the case, I think we have an obligation to celebrate one of the Muslim holidays, as well.’’

State and federal laws require schools to make reasonable accommodation of the religious needs of students and in observance of holy days, but the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education leaves the decision about how to do that up to individual school districts because they “know best about the needs and unique demographic makeup of their student population and community,’’ said JC Considine, a spokesman for the department.

If a school district has a large number of students who observe Good Friday and would not attend school that day, Considine said the districts are allowed to close because of the expected low attendance. But the state does require districts to schedule at least 180 days of school.

Cambridge School Superintendent Jeffrey Young said the district does not collect information about the religion of its students. But Young said that there is a significant Muslim population in the city, and that, at least anecdotally, the Muslim population in the schools appears to be growing.

A large Muslim population is one of the reasons why the school district in Dearborn, Mich., began closing schools for high Islamic holy days 10 years ago, said David Mustonen, communications coordinator for the school system.

(I have posted on how bad things are in Dearbornistan numerous times. PatriotUSA)

Mustonen said that at first there were some people in the community who didn’t like the schools being closed on Eid holidays. “However, I don’t think this is the case anymore as people have come to realize that it is no different then taking time off at Christmas or Easter,’’ Mustonen said in an e-mail.

In September, public schools in Burlington, Vt., also closed on Eid al-Fitr for the first time, said Dan Balon, director of the school district’s diversity and equity office.

Balon said there is an increasing Muslim population in the schools, and the district decided to close on the holiday rather than risk low attendance rates and force students to decide between school and staying home to celebrate the holiday.

Glenn Koocher, executive director of the Massachusetts Association of School Committees, said that to his knowledge Cambridge would be the first school district in Massachusetts to close schools for a Muslim holiday.

“Somebody has to be first,’’ said Koocher. “I suspect there may be heightened interest in this. We’ll see how this plays out.’’

Marla Erlien, chairwoman of the Cambridge Human Rights Commission, said the discussion about closing Cambridge schools for an Islamic holiday began several years ago when the commission conducted a survey at Rindge and Latin asking students about discrimination, and at a follow-up forum students raised concerns about how Muslims were a “discarded group’’ whose holidays weren’t recognized in the schools.

From there, several students, including Kassay and Humbi Song, a 2009 graduate of the high school, began working to raise understanding of Arab and Muslim culture at the high school and then advocating for a day off from school on a Muslim holiday.

Song, who is not Muslim, said she tried to promote awareness about Islam at the high school in part because she had Muslim friends who had been made fun of for their religious clothing and headwear. She said she thinks some students were uneducated about Muslim culture.

Erlien said she thinks closing schools on the holiday will help build connections with Muslims in Cambridge.

“As their kids come home and say, ‘Oh, look, we now have a holiday,’ the parents might begin to feel safer here,’’ Erlien said.

But McGovern said he’s sure there will be some people who think closing school for a Muslim holiday is a terrible idea.

“Can’t please everybody,’’ he said. “You have to do what you think is right.’’

Boys will boys but not at this school.

In an attempt to further feminize boys and render them even more confused than they may already be; a school in New Jersey thought it would be just fine to have a 'women's fashion show.' Ok, not so bad you say. Even the boys were REQUIRED to dress up as women. They were allowed the grace of still being able to wear pants but the look still had to model women's clothing from a certain era. This is from Cassy Fiano and her site is worth a visit from anyone who really cares about our country and true conservative values. This a bit long, but read it all as it contains the letters the school sent out and some of the parents reactions. Seems to me a perfect example of excessive diversity and multiculturalism gone wild and one example of what is wrong with our public schools.

Teachers forcing boys to cross-dress is wrong, even if they’re wearing jeans

Cassy Fiano,  Over the past week, there has been a big controversy regarding a grade school in Maple Shade School District in Burlington County, New Jersey. A teacher recently sent home a letter to parents telling them that there was going to be a fashion show in which the history of women’s clothes could be modeled. All students were required to participate by dressing up in women’s clothes, even the boys. Some parents were, of course, upset and complained. This caught the eye of Warner Todd Huston, who wrote about it on Monday:

The cross-dressing day is to take place April 16 to coincide with the gay activist’s school event called “Day of Silence,” a nation-wide effort ostensibly meant as an anti-bullying program. However, the real purpose of the event is an effort to spread the homosexual agenda in our schools. Singer Lance Bass, who “came out” not long ago, is featured in one of the videos sent to schools to get kids interested in the event and several prominent gay groups are pushing the idea. The Day of Silence event was created by a gay advocacy group named GLSEN (the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network). According to one parent on FaceBook, the district has been indulging a politically correct agenda for quite a while. In order to excise Christian references in the school, they’ve renamed St. Patrick’s day to “Leprechaun Day,” renamed Christmas to the “Winter Holiday,” and renamed Good Friday to “Spring Day.”

Parent Janine Patterson Giandomenico asks some salient questions:

How is dressing like a woman from any era going to teach him about history? Why not let him do a report, poster, or other project on this subject? If he was attending a vocational school in the field of textiles, women’s fashion, etc, then it would make sense. My son is adamantly opposed, and I don’t see how forcing my 9-year-old to cross-dress in front of the entire school body is going to teach him anything about Women’s History.

This is a pretty outrageous school event. Forcing grade school boys to dress up as women makes no sense whatever. Pushing the gay agenda while feminizing our young boys through a cross-dressing day? This isn’t your parent’s grade school celebration, for sure.

The school responded to the negative publicity and cancelled the event. The AP then wrote an article scolding Huston and defending the school. Apparently, because the boys could wear jeans or pants, it’s really not that big a deal. Get it, homophobes? And so technically, they didn’t even have to dress as a woman, either!

The school even issued a letter “explaining” the whole thing. You can see the images here. I’ve left in the grammatical errors.

Dear Maude Wilkins Families,

March is National Women’s history month. The Advisory Council on Women in Burlington County sponsors a contest where Maple Shade schools have been the recipient of many awards. Maude Wilkins’ classes have studied the role of women in society over the decades and how their dress has changed with each role. The culminating activity for these lessons was to hold a fashion show to display the different eras of clothing. The fashion show was to be videotaped to submit our project for the awards.

I wanted to clear up any misconceptions about the clothing show. It was never our intention to have boys dress up as women. There are many different time periods that had women and men dressing in pants, suits, and even sweat suits. Students were just asked to dress as a time period, not a woman. The children were then being asked to identify their time period of dress.

At this time, we are cancelling the fashion show. The culminating activity for this project will ask all students to draw a picture of a person dressed in clothing from a time period of their choice. The time period must be noted on the project. The project will be handed in on Monday, April 19, 2010.

We apologize for any confusion or frustration this might have caused.
Sincerely,
Beth F. Norcia, Principal

This letter may perhaps be the worst CYA letter I’ve ever read. Parents only need refer back to the original letter sent out, which rather clearly stated that boys were supposed to dress up as women. They could wear pants, but they still needed to dress as women.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Last month our students studied women in history. Every year we end the unit with a school wide activity. This year our culminating event will be a fashion show celebrating how women’s fashions have changed throughout the years. The fashion show will be on Friday, April 16, 2010. Attached is a packet of information describing different types of clothing women wore during different time periods. All students must participate in this activity as it will be an end of the unit assessment.

If your child is a young man, he does not have to wear a dress or a skirt, as there are many time periods where women wore jean pants and trousers. However, each child must be able to express what time period their outfit is from. Most of all, your child should have fun creating their outfit and learning about how women’s clothing has changed!

Sincerely,
Tonya Uibel

So the school’s position is basically that it’s A-OK to have a fashion show modeling women’s clothing because boys could wear jeans or trousers. This raises a lot of questions.

This fashion show was supposed to showcase how women’s clothing has changed over the years. Why have boys participate if they were going to dress as… well, boys? It seems like they’re still supposed to be representing women, even while wearing pants. So what were parents supposed to do then? Send their little boys to school with makeup on them? Jewelry? A Hannah Montana t-shirt and high heels? They might be wearing pants instead of a skirt, but it seems the intent was still for little boys to be cross-dressing. If they wanted boys to wear regular men’s clothing, then how would the fashion show be presenting women’s clothing throughout history? It seems like it would defeat the whole purpose, does it not?

On top of all this, it sounds like the fashion show would determine the grade each student received. So boys not only have to cross-dress, but they’re apparently being graded on how well they do it.
At best, this was a poorly executed school event, planned by thoughtless school officials who apparently couldn’t comprehend the possible controversy of telling parents their boys were required to cross-dress for a school event.

The school district is claiming that only the one parent complained, which is sad in and of itself. It also quotes one poor little girl who couldn’t wear her can-can costume because of this mean parent who ruined it for everyone.

One third-grader, Elizabeth Heisler, said as school let out Wednesday that none of her classmates had seemed confused about whether boys were supposed to wear dresses. The cancellation of the fashion show means she doesn’t get to wear her red and black “can-can” dress to school on Friday.
The episode confounded her mother, Andrea Heisler.

“I would never think my son was going to come to school in an 1800s dress and petticoat,” she said.

I wouldn’t really trust the opinion of a mother who saw no problem letting her third-grade daughter wear a can-can costume out in public. Just so you know, the can-can was a dance that originated in the late 1800s featuring women lifting up their skirts and kicking their legs in the air, as well as provocative, suggestive body movements. I’m sure you’ve all seen the movie Moulin Rouge. Well, how many of you would want your eight-year-old girls emulating the prostitutes in that movie? Historically, can-can dancers usually were prostitutes, and performing the can-can was like a side act. In fact, it was commonplace for can-can dancers to do the dance without wearing underwear, so when they flashed their skirts… well, you can all imagine what was shown. Not exactly appropriate for an elementary school-aged girl, is it? This little girl’s mother was going to let her daughter basically wear a red and black hooker dress (see examples here). Not exactly the best example to use to bolster the credibility of this fashion show, is it? And again, maybe none of the male students thought they had to wear dresses. But if you’re dressing up like a woman, even in jeans, it’s still crossdressing. And no child should be forced to do that.

Despite the school’s lame attempt to whitewash the scandal, and the AP’s sneering at the controversy, this is wrong. Thank God there was one sane parent there who wouldn’t let her son undergo this warped social experiment. That’s exactly what this was, and it’s what thousands of schools across the country are doing. The feminization of our sons has got to stop. Many parents, though, are sitting here and looking the other way while their children are basically being brainwashed. It’s sickening. It’s the job of the parent to protect their children from this kind of gender engineering.

And yes, this is exactly why homeschooling is becoming so popular.

Indoctrination in our Public schools. The brainwashing of the American child.

I can speak from first hand experiences in what has been omitted, white washed
into the "America is a bad country" story or history rewritten altogether in battling the curriculum at my son's middle school. He is in 8th grade and there has been no teaching on Pearl Harbor, the Holocaust, the war for our Independence, the French-Indian wars, World War one and two, Korea, Vietnam(we were wrong and are bad people). Get the picture? In almost every event mentioned above the United States was the bad country and that we should be ashamed of our past history and actions. My son was sent home from school during last year's elections because he said some negative things about Obama. In essence, my son was punished for telling the truth. The school districts policy on Obama and his election was that as the first black, negro, Muslim president, there was nothing bad about Obama. No negative comments or views were tolerated. Let's just say I changed that policy the next day with the help of our family attorney. It is happening all across our country.

Jerry Rubin has done an excellent job in what is happening in our public schools and western society. This is a good report he has written and it dovetails in very well with the facts of being politically correct, honoring diversity and multiculturalism at all costs, and the erosion of our school systems and society.

A Mystery: What's Happening in American Schools and Why Aren't Parents Aware of It?

Posted: 11 Jan 2010
By Barry Rubin

As I contemplate what’s happening now with American schools and Western society in general-- especially ideological indoctrination by schools and seeming parental indifference to it—I’m reminded of a relevant, true story.

It was in the 1870s or 1880s, a time with many parallels to today. Peretz Smolenskin, a Russian Jewish novelist, editor, and Zionist, was then living in Western Europe. A wealthy Russian Jew visited him to ask advice on what to do with his daughter. She’d been radicalized in school and joined the terrorist revolutionary movement, the People’s Will, which idealized the Russian peasantry. Members were assassinating officials and many were sent to Siberia or executed. The man complained bitterly about his problem.

Smolenskin tried to be sympathetic but was rather irritated and so ended up being quite blunt. The real cause of such problems, he told the father, was a failure of parents, not children:

"How did you bring up your daughter?....You sent her to high school, where she learned about other peoples. Did you teach her about our own people? Did you teach her our own language? Did you interest her in our own history? Did you want her to know about our own people and our own national aspirations? To whom, then, should you bring your complaints, if not to yourself?"

In other words, if you end up being shocked at what your children think doesn't this have something to do with what you have, or haven't taught them?

Responding to my "Life in an American Fourth Grade" series, a number of people in different parts of the country have written about their experiences with public school. One had been told by a student also in the same county school system the following exchange:

Question: What did you learn about WW II?
Answer: About the internment of Japanese-Americans.
Question: Did you learn about [the] Pearl Harbor [attack]?
Answer: No.

Ask yourself why this is being done. In my son's class they read not one, not two, but three books on the internment of the Japanese residents or citizens on the West Coast. It certainly would have been possible to teach about the Pearl Harbor attack; the courage of Americans on Bataan and on Wake Island; and other such things. Why not teach both? (My son says that the Pearl Harbor attack was mentioned in class but only to set the background for the internment.)

But the Pearl Harbor attack creates a problem for the dominant ideology today. It is a case of another, non-white nation attacking the United States. Anyone might conclude that Imperial Japan had acted in a cowardly and dishonorable manner by such a sneak attack in the midst of diplomatic negotiations. Such an attitude could lead to the PC sins of “racism,” “xenophobia,” and “patriotism.” Might someone draw a parallel between December 7, 1941, and September 11, 2001? These were “dangers” to be avoided.

The same applies to Japanese torture of Western prisoners, most known in contemporary culture through the film “The Bridge on the River Kwai,” about the building of the “Death Railway” in China. There is a huge body of evidence about such things, which led to the executions of a number of Japanese officials after World War Two on war crimes’ charges. But, again, to show a non-white, non-Western country acting in such a matter might make Americans look down on a differentt, non-white, non-Western society. Parallels to contemporary terrorism and decapitation of Americans kidnapped in Pakistan or Iraq?

Oh No! Multiculturalism and Diversity Alert!! A stick figure of Jesus gets 8 year old sent home from school.

Nice job done on this 8 year old boy
by the teacher and the school. An
apology is in order, and the parents are
well within their rights to have their child
moved to another school. As to the call of
racism? Perhaps, but this did occur in one
of the most liberal states in the country.
With one of the most 'progressive'(regressive)
education programs in the United States. Maybe
the figure was Jesus on the cross? Jesus died on
the cross, remember? So the student drew X's
for the eyes, big deal. Whether the figure
the boy drew was of himself, or Jesus on the
cross, this was poorly handled by the teacher
and the school. A perfect example of how
polarized we have become. Multiculturalism
and diversity run amuck, and out of control.
This is a PMSNBC article. Any questions?

2nd-grader sent home for crucifix drawing

Dad says teacher became upset when boy drew himself on a cross

Student sent home over Jesus drawing

Dec. 15:
A Massachusetts school suspends an 8-year-old boy for drawing a stick-figure Jesus on a cross.
TAUNTON, Mass. - An 8-year-old boy was sent home from school and ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation after he was asked to make a Christmas drawing and came up with what
appeared to be a stick figure of Jesus on a cross, the child's father said Tuesday.

Chester Johnson told WBZ-TV that his son made the drawing on Dec. 2 after his second-grade teacher asked children to sketch something that reminded them of the holiday.

Johnson said the teacher became upset when his son said he drew himself on the cross. Johnson, who is black, told WBZ he suspects racism is involved. He said he thinks the school overreacted and wants an apology.

Johnson told the Taunton Daily Gazette, which first reported the story on Tuesday, that his son gets specialized reading and speech instruction and has never been violent in school.

An educational consultant working with the Johnson family said the teacher was also alarmed when the boy drew Xs for Jesus' eyes.

A call to Johnson was not immediately returned.

The boy was cleared to return to school on Dec. 7 after the evaluation found nothing to indicate that he posed a threat to himself or others. But his father said the boy was traumatized by the incident and the
school district has approved the family's request to have the child transferred to another school.

"They owe my family an apology and the kid an apology and they need to work with my son (to) the best of their ability to get him back to where he was before all this happened," Johnson told New England Cable News.

'A good thing'

The father said in the days before the incident the family had gone to the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette in Attleboro, where there are crucifixion statues.

"That was fresh on his mind," he told NECN. "And that was a good thing that he saw."

Superintendent Julie Hackett said she could not discuss an individual student and did not address the drawing specifically or the teacher's reaction to it, but did say the school has safety protocols in place that were followed.

Hackett did not return multiple calls from The Associated Press on Tuesday.

In June 2008, a Taunton fifth-grade student was suspended for a day for a stick figure drawing that appeared to depict him shooting his teacher and a classmate.

Ten students at a Florida middle school were suspended after district officials say they participated in "kick a Jew day."

District spokesman Joe Landon says a Jewish student at North Naples Middle School reported being kicked on Thursday. The school's principal addressed the entire student body the next morning and asked for anyone with information about the alleged attack to come forward.

The district determined that 10 students should be punished. They each served one day of in-school suspension Monday.

Landon says the first 20 minutes of the school day, which is normally used for reading and tutoring, will now be used to teach students about respect, kindness and ways to prevent bullying.

No criminal charges have been filed.

Fort Hood Atrocity and the End of Multiculturalism

by D. L. Adams

"The Islamic calendar does not begin with Mohammed’s “revelations” from Allah via the “Angel Gabriel” rather it begins when Mohammed immigrates to Medina from Mecca. This was 13 years after Mohammed’s unsuccessful career as a preacher in Mecca. From Medina, Mohammed became a warlord, conquering Medina itself then spreading Islam by the sword across Arabia then further. The Islamic calendar begins not with religion (revelations from Allah) but politics; Islam is a political ideology hostile to western civilization."

"Allah and Mohammed are clear in the doctrine of Islam; Islam does not arrive in non-Islamic countries to assimilate but conquer. This is jihad.

Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah, and those who reject Faith Fight in the cause of Evil: So fight ye against the friends of Satan: feeble indeed is the cunning of Satan. Koran, 4:76

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah ’s Apostle said, ” I have been ordered to fight with the people till they say, ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,’ and whoever says, ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,’ his life and property will be saved by me except for Islamic law, and his accounts will be with Allah, (either to punish him or to forgive him.)” Bukhari, Hadith, 4:52:196

O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust. Koran, 5:51"

The words from the Koran doom any
argument that can be made to defend
Islam. Notice how it is always 'what the
Koran states is misunderstood' by those
who oppose Islam. No, many of us have
a pretty clear idea of what the Koran
and Hadith is saying. There is nothing
peaceful or tolerant about Islam.

Geert Wilders: A true hero in my book. Excellent article from Baron Bodissey of Gates of Vienna.

Gates of Vienna: Geert Wilders: “Right-Wing Extremist”

This is a complete smear job
against Geert Wilders and the
PVV party that is rapidly
growing in the Netherlands.
This what becomes of a country
or state that completely embraces
the far left policies of diversity and
multiculturaism. When immigration
is allowed to race forward with no
controls or laws to impede the flow
of Muslims or Asians, who are THE
majority of immigrants to Europe.
Entire article is here from G of V.
It is a bit long but gives you an
view of how the left operates and
what the Dutch and the West are
facing. Wilders a 'right wing extremist'?
I think not.

Geert Wilders: “Right-Wing Extremist”

by Baron Bodissey

Our Flemish correspondent VH has compiled a report on the latest hatchet job attempted on Geert Wilders by the Dutch government. He has translated several articles on the topic, and includes this introductory note:

These articles concern the scandalous (and ridiculous) attempt by the Dutch government via the extreme left-wing Minister of the Interior — who herself is a threat to democracy, since she scrapped the planning for an elected Mayor and recently called for a revolt of the elite — to smear Wilders as “extreme right” and “a danger to national security.”

By the way, the party of the Minister of the Interior, the PvdA (Socialists), have been plunging in the polls for the last couple of months, and are in a state of crisis. They fear possible elections in the event that PM Balkenende (CDA, Christian Democrat), who, having failed in the Netherlands, may quit prematurely for a much more attractive job that avoids all hassle from the electorate in the EU (appointed President). If that happens, the PVV and perhaps other parties will demand elections.

The first translation is from De Telegraaf:

Wilders furious for being labeled ‘extreme right’

Geert Wilders is furious with three scientists who would characterize the PVV as an extreme-right party that undermines democracy. “I’m really furious. They have become totally bonkers. What idiocy. We are democrats to the backbone,” he said Saturday.

The PVV leader responded to a report in the left-wing newspaper De Volkskrant about a study of radicalization and polarization, commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of the Interior. According to a spokeswoman for the ministry, the research is in its final phase, and the advisory committee and the researchers are still debating the usual definitions. There is no disagreement, according to her.

The spokeswoman did not want to anticipate the conclusions. But according to the newspaper, the researchers Hans Moors, Bob de Graaff, and Jaap van Donselaar call the PVV the one far-right party that mobilizes Islamophobia and hatred against the government, and thus undermines democracy and social cohesion. Wilders rejects those qualifications. “We are democratically elected and use only democratic means,” he said.

“This is yet another shameful and pathological attempt by the elite to demonize us and an attempt to silence the PVV and all our constituents. But they will never succeed! If there is anything that undermines democracy, then it is this leftist elite — including such fake researchers — and Islamization,” Wilders said. What’s more, he finds it deplorable that the very “nonsensical qualifications” of the “scientists” might encourage people to use violence against him. The member of Parliament has been strictly protected for many years due to continuing threats.

Researcher Moors last Saturday was unpleasantly struck by the news of the report. According to him it is in a draft version and has not yet been discussed with the Ministry, and therefore also there cannot be any disagreement about the conclusions. Furthermore, things are much more nuanced than they are presented in the news, the scientist said. Thus, Wilders’ PVV is not called an extreme right-wing party. Instead, it states that Wilders’ position on Islam can more and more be classified “in the direction of the far-right family”.

Minister if the Interior, Guusje ter Horst [PvdA, Socialists — who recently called for a revolt by the elite] will send the report as expected to Parliament in December.

VH adds this analysis:

- - - - - - - - -
The newspaper De Volkskrant writes: “The ministry, according to sources, wants these conclusions to be weakened because of ‘political sensitivity’. The researchers — Hans Moors, a radicalization researcher, professor of (counter-)terrorism Bob de Graaff, and the expert on the extreme right Jaap van Donselaar — want to stick to their guns.” Moors: “The minister must determine her position based on our report. She can say that Van Donselaar, De Graaff, and Moors are round the bend. But she cannot touch our research.”

“Most ‘explosive’ of all,” writes De Volkskrant, “is that Wilders, according to the researchers, undermines social cohesion and democracy. Ergo: he is a danger to national security. Hereby the researchers express what many in government circles find, but no one dares utter in public, as De Volkskrant found after a general inquiry. The fear here is that Wilders will cash in on this by stating that the authorities are trying to gag him.”

“Various government departments are totally ‘fed up with Wilders,’ terrorism researcher Edwin Bakker of the Clingendael Institute says. ‘He creates a certain degree of threat. Not only abroad with Fitna, but also because he mobilizes fear in the Netherlands. Wilders is a danger to national security.’”

“There is a curious paradox, insiders say. The authorities are much better prepared for a terrorist attack than five years ago when Theo van Gogh was murdered by Mohammed Bouyeri. But society, however, partly due to the actions of the PVV, has become more vulnerable. An attack now could, as they fear, lead to social disruption. Wilders was not available for comment.”

Bob de Graaff, Jaap van Donselaar and Hans Moors bring science into disrepute

By Hans Besseling

Both Dutch and Western civilizations are being threatened by a naïve leftist multiculturalism.

In the newspaper De Volkskrant on October 31, the self-identified “leftist” gentlemen, as summed up in the title, are presented as scientists. The disciplines “radicalization” (Hans Moors) and “terrorism” (Bob de Graaff) are themselves not objectively definable, and thus reside outside the scope of science. The subject that preoccupies Jaap van Donselaar, the extreme right, involves a word pollution, with which “leftist” circles have for some time kept themselves busy since the bankruptcy of state socialism. By assigning these men to a study on radicalization, the narrow vision of our Home Secretary becomes public.

The Anne Frank Foundation, which is a leftist stronghold that avoids any democratic control, without any consequence has published in their “Monitor Racism & Extremism” (sic) [the ‘Monitor” is Jaap van Donselaar’s project — translator] that they classify the PVV as an extreme-right party, although not of the classic anti-Semitic sort, as it added.[1] Some opinion leaders were raised with the notion that the “left” is good and the “right” is bad, to such an extent that the extreme left is extremely good and the extreme right is obviously extremely bad. The thesis by the “cultural anthropologist” Jaap van Donselaar was about the extreme right.

I have no further knowledge of his thesis, but I assume he counts the Fascism of Mussolini and the National Socialism of Nazi Germany as extreme right. When he then studies the far right after World War II, he should notice that these dictatorial ideologies in Western Europe no longer acquired any meaningful followers, as opposed to the extreme left set of ideas. Because, while there have hardly been any significant incidents of reported violence by the right against the constitutional state, political development in Western Europe is tainted by left-wing extremist violence (RAF, animal activism, university occupations, squatters movements, etc.), with, as a sad low in the Netherlands, the murder of the democrat and innovator Pim Fortuyn.

I fear that with Jaap van Donselaar we are not dealing with an expert on the work of Jacques Kadt in using the term fascism. When the concepts of extreme right and extreme left are detached from the justification of violence by the left and the right, there then remains but one qualification with which one tries to demonize political opponents. And the association of the term “far right” with Fascism and National Socialism then is a conscious denial of the content of these leftist ideologies.

The Left stands for: the organization and financing of charitable and other social activities by the government, redistribution of wealth and income, control of trade and industry by the government, subordination of the individual to the community as an expression of the mutual solidarity of the citizens. And, even in a democracy, the Left always tends to impose subordination to the state from the top down (yes: dictatorship), nicely packaged as the abused concept of solidarity.

Now Dutch and Western civilizations are threatened by a naïve leftist multiculturalism. An increasing proportion of the population are having their eyes opened to the ideological, dictatorial nature of Islam. The Muslims in our country are usually on the side of their co-religionists in the rest of the world (quite understandable if you belong to the same club), although the vast majority prefer a peaceful and prosperous existence as long as they are not forced to choose: rejection and repudiation of the mixture of state with religion, or bringing the laws of the country more into line with their Sharia.

I repeat: “We may consider ourselves fortunate to have a Geert Wilders, who in principle is disassociated from any form of violence. The breeding ground for mutual violence is already present in a number of countries in the EU. In the Balkans we have the example of Bosnia for the inhumane acts that may result from it. We lack the profound, reckless viewpoints of someone like Jacques de Kadt, though it must be admitted that then as now, unwelcome thoughts are simply ignored.”

Our Home Secretary should realize that not Geert Wilders, but the three gentlemen mentioned in the title, with their qualifications for scolding the extreme right wing, not only offer an excuse to the extreme left wing for their beloved violence against the PVV, but deny the essence of democracy: the periodic submission of government policy to the discretion of the electorate.

[1] Encina Navan of HetVrijeVolk.com wrote last year on Jaap van Donselaar (excerpt):

Van Donselaar is an associate professor in Leiden in the Administration section. It is difficult to understand how such a function prepares one to study the extreme right. From 1981 to 1992 he was associated with an advisory committee for the policy on minorities. This board concluded each year that the minorities policy had failed (it indeed had, but the Netherlands was aware of that even without any study) and each time begged for more money with the aim of continuing those failed policies. But after having proved a sufficient mastery of the function of a government parrot, Van Donselaar was allowed to take on another job.

In 1990, when the CD [Center Democrats, an anti-multicultural policy party] gained representation in a number of municipalities and Parliament, that was reason enough to put Van Donselaar on the subject of ‘the extreme right’. As an independent researcher, of course. From 1991 Van Donselaar published a number of reports. After the growth of the CD in 1994, Van Donselaar began in 1996 with the ‘Monitor,’ an annual report on the situation of the extreme right in the Netherlands. In 2000 he became involved with the creation of the European version of the ‘Monitor’.

Since the early nineties Van Donselaar has been working closely with the Anne Frank Foundation, which used the WWII hiding place of the Jewish [Holocaust victim] Anne Frank to promote a multicultural society. In the 1980s The Anne Frank Foundation (also known as AFstichting) was called a crypto-communist organization by a member of the government, who afterwards had to withdraw the statement. The publications of the AFstichting do not beat around the bush. There is no doubt that the AFstichting is an extreme left-wing organization, whose goals go far beyond battling anti-Semitism. Anyone who works together with it has abandoned all objectivity [The Anne Frank Stichting also filed the case against the book “The Downfall of the Netherlands”, and managed to have the “writer”, Mohammed Rasoel (a stand-in for the real writer), sentenced and the book banned — translator].

Donselaar not only has questionable allies, but also questionable methods. On various forums he is active under pseudonyms, in the vain hope of squeezing out “information”. A drowsy little course, but methodologically almost totally irresponsible.

The third point against Van Donselaar are his employees. His partner Carien Nelissen, also an anthropologist, co-wrote the first two issues of the Monitor (1997 and 1998), because “chatting to the left, filling your pocket to the right” [leftz whinin’, righty pocket linin’] with two pockets goes even faster. In 1981 they together wrote an “anthropological” study of the ‘Nederlandse Volksunie’ [Dutch People’s Union, anti-multicultural party]. In short, the kind of people who have nest eggs everywhere and still maintain the pretense that they are independent.

The fourth point arguing against Van Donselaar is perhaps the most deadly one. On radio and television, he proclaims that three elements in the PVV indicate an extreme-right ideology:

1. Pride in the Dutch character;

2. The dislike of the foreign, of political opponents, and of established policy in general;

3. A taste for the authoritarian.

(source: Monitor Racism & Extremism 2008, p.170)

These “features” are features of every self-interested group. For each individual strives to maintain his own characteristics, and without any pride it is hard to have a sure perception of those characteristics. Van Donselaar is actually saying here that anyone with a culture (which is everyone) by definition tends to extreme right-wing behavior when he is confronted with different ideas. This is a perfect way for van Donselaar always to be right: if you deviate from his analysis, you are extreme right (and hardly anyone wants to be called that), if you agree with him, you must share his vision.

The devil is in the word “dislike”. Van Donselaar leaves it vague of how much dislike there must be to earn the label “extreme right-wing”. He does give a sort of explanation, but it is actually a justification of his chosen methodology.

In fact, Van Donselaar explains the position of the PVV from his own chosen method using only two concepts, namely: national-democrats and racial revolutionaries (p. 171). The latter is according to Van Donselaar the hard-core of the extreme right. They want the association of the Netherlands with Flanders, disapprove of the arrival of foreigners — and that includes Western foreigners — and do not a priori disapprove of violence, because the system is seen as fundamentally wrong. With the national-democrats the boundaries are differently drawn: this group is against the arrival of non-Western foreigners and is not immediately prepared to use force.

After this introduction, Van Donselaar indicates that social reality is more complicated (p. 173), an academic cliché to indicate that one does not take responsibility for errors in the image-building caused by an incorrect methodology

[…]

It is shameful that a scientist lets himself misuse so much for political purposes. Van Donselaar is a typical example of intellectuals who have betrayed science in exchange for political involvement, as Julien Benda described in 1927.

The government then pays a “scientist” to publish an “independent” report, after which the court then may refer to the “scientific” findings. Only the Gulag Archipelago is missing.
