Many of you will remember the courageous fight of Rifqa Bary to be free from her parents and Islam after converting to Christianity. She has been diagnosed with an aggressive type of Uterine Cancer. Please pray for her and her continued safety. I am not into conspiracy theories but some things are not adding up here. From Atlas Shrugs.

Rifqa Bary Suffering from Cancer, Her Lawyers Bring in Her Parents

Atlas Shrugs: There has been a terrible development in the case of Rifqa Bary. According to Rifqa, she has been diagnosed with advanced uterine cancer

I ask all Atlas readers to put Rifqa in their prayers.

While this is a tragedy, how she is being victimized by her lawyers and her parents is an atrocity. Her lawyers kept her in the dark about her condition – cancer – for well over a week, while they conferred with her parents and their CAIR appointed lawyers about her treatment. While most cases like this result in a hysterectomy, she is only having the advanced malignancy removed. From what I understand, the survival rate in cases like these is 5%. Her surgery is Thursday. Pray.

Was she allowed to get a second opinion? No.

While she was lying ill, her lawyers brought her parents to her hospital bed. She was strapped in for treatment and became very agitated and upset, and they had to be removed. She has broken her silence, a silence mandated by her lawyers, that she could not talk to her friends such as Jamal Jivanjee and those of us who have been unwavering in our support for Rifqa Bary’s civil rights and religious liberty.

Now she is scared. Her entire legal strategy was directed at keeping her safe and securing her immigration status, and here we are at the end of May and she has no immigration status. Upon her birthday in August 2010, she will be an illegal alien, in need of serious chemotherapy and cancer treatment. This is a horror.

Dear friends & supporters of Rifqa Bary,

It is with a heavy heart that I come to you this morning. I know that it has been quite a while since my last update regarding Rifqa Bary. In addition to her ongoing legal and immigration setbacks, I’m afraid that I do have some bad news to report. Rifqa has been diagnosed with a very aggressive form of uterus cancer. The symptoms and health complications that are associated with this cancer materialized and are what led to its detection. Rifqa has already had 2 surgeries at this point, and she is getting ready to undergo a third surgery which will be occurring this Thursday, May 27’th.

I am writing this to you because this is not a time for silence regarding Rifqa’s life and situation. I am very thankful for many of you who have not ceased to pray and ask questions about her situation. Her situation is very serious, and she will need the help of many people in the weeks and months ahead. As you know, Rifqa will be 18 in less than 3 months. Many people have thought that her eighteenth birthday would be a cause of celebration because she would be free of the immediate threat of being placed under the control of her devout Muslim parents. (As you know, Rifqa fled for her life as a result of the threat that she was facing because of her conversion from Islam to Christianity. According to numerous Islamic teachings, leaving Islam is an offence punishable by death.) As it is currently looking, Rifqa will be facing many challenges when she turns 18 on August 10’th.

In addition to Rifqa’s legal challenges that have yet to be resolved, she will now be confronted with serious health issues that will require aggressive medical attention. As soon as Rifqa heals from the major surgery that she will undergo this Thursday, it is expected that she will need to undergo several rounds of chemotherapy. Although she has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, the extent of her condition will be known after this Thursday’s surgery.

When Rifqa turns 18, she will no longer be under the care of the state of Ohio. I am asking you to not forget about her situation. She will need the strong support of many people in the months ahead. Again, this is not a time for silence. This is the time for all those who have been called to support her to come to her aid. The first step is to inform you about what is occurring. This is why I am breaking the virtual ‘gag order’ that has been placed around Rifqa’s situation.

If you are a Christian, I would like to ask you to do something very special for Rifqa. I would like to ask you to set aside some time this week to pray and fast for Rifqa’s situation and for her upcoming surgery occurring this Thursday May 27’th. I know many already are. Rifqa is in desperate need of an army of supporters to know about what is occurring regarding her situation, and to pray for her healing. I am a strong believer in the power of prayer because I am convinced that God sovereignly works out His victories, and accomplishes justice through the prayers of people. As soon as I am aware of the outcome of the surgery, I will do my best to inform you of what I know.

UPDATE: The Bary family is here illegally. If Rifqa is sent back to Sri Lanka because of her illegal status (something, I think, the family, desperately wants), the danger is very near fatal. Here's an excerpt from my interview with a woman, an apostate, who came to the hearing just to show moral support. She does not know Rifqa, but is an ex-Muslim from Sri Lanka. Pamela: Okay we are going to start, I am in the court room. It is October 13th, Rifqa Bary's Hearing.

We'll be deciding jurisdiction - does she stay or does she go. Is it a Reckoning or a Requiem.

I am sitting here with a family - their names will not be disclosed. Their background is Sri Lanka much the way Rifqa Bary's background is Sri Lanka - the Mum is an apostate. She is a convert from Islam.

Can you tell us a bit about the danger that Rifqa faces?

Sri Lankan Apostate: Yes, she will have real problems. Even if she has to go to the family, Mother and Father. Because it is in their faith, it is written this has to happen when you go away from the Islam, then Kill.

As Prophet Mohammad has told as in the Hadiths and also in the Koran. This is what I learnt also when I was a muslim. That you should kill all the Jews first and then the Christians then other nations if you are not believing in Allah.

So, this was taught when I was a small child. This is like being brainwashed. People they don't know what is in the Koran, they don't want to know even because it is simply holy. You are not allowed to see what is inside, and even if you see that, it is in Arabic language, and translation they are not interested. They believe that. They say Koran nobody can translate, so what can we believe? Somehow I got to know the reality. In the Koran it is written that there is light and guidance in the Torah and light and guidance in the Injil [Gospel].

Then, it is in the Old Testament and New Testament and even though we are not allowed to read these or see these people who have this book, Islam teaches us always don't breed with those Kuffars, with unbelievers who are not in Islam, and that they have changed their own books and the Christians and the Jews, they are not like those days that books which God gave and so today Allah gave for us, that is why we are going on like Allah wants, so this is not the real way. When Allah says in the Koran that Torah has lied, Indian has lied, then why don't I see this.

So, actually after a long time, after a few years, I got to know the Bible and that which were from Moses, his own hand ?? I couldn't believe it, this way, that God speaks to Prophets, and the Prophets sent a message from God. If you compare the Koran and the Bible, is entirely different ways and means. Allah says in the Koran - kill everybody but Christ says, and Indian, love each and prayer for enemy.

Pamela: So let me ask you a question. You come from Sri Lanka? If she goes back to Sri Lanka with her family becomes they have problems with their legal status - what will it be like for a muslim in Sri Lanka, someone like Rifqa who has converted? Are they a secular society are they understanding of such a conversion?

Sri Lankan Apostate: No. She will die, she will die in her society. Society won't leave her alone. Even if the family, Mother and Father has a little sympathy, but not society, society is worse because she has gone too far.

Pamela: You mean more pressure from society, more judgement comes down upon the family?

Sri Lankan Apostate: Yes. The society will never leave the family in peace. They have to take a stand for this, because it is the shame. Rifqa has brought a shame for their religion and for their society.

Pamela: So your whole family is here? You are not related to Rifqa?

Sri Lankan Apostate: No.

Pamela: Why did you come to this hearing with your family?

Sri Lankan Apostate: Because when I see the youtube everytime, it is like my situation

Pamela: When you heard Rifqa on youtube, that was on my site, you saw yourself in her?

Sri Lankan Apostate: Yeah, I had really sympathy on her, this is my same situation that is going on with her, eh, that danger in life.

Pamela: Okay, thank you very much.
