A lead pipe works just as well.

yes it does but in the work place a lead pipe might be a bit 'heavy'.

Check out "Davo's Little Something" by Robert G. Barrett. I'll say no more.

All right, I'll have to say this: The book's about this bloke, a butcher in Sydney, who loses the plot and decides to take revenge on the rougher element in Sydney after his mate gets done in by them - so he buys a big old pair of leather gloves and designs a "little something" to give him the edge when he's up against a horde of rampant skinheads.

So he lines the gloves with steel knuckles and a big old knife edge along the bottom to "chop" with ... when he's trying them out he hangs an old wardrobe up from the beams in the garage, puts on a cassette with AC/DC and Rose Tattoo and lays into the wardrobe with his special gloves ... naturally he reduces the wardrobe to matchsticks, then goes out that night with his "little something" and a mad gleam in his bloodthirsty eyes ...

A bit of an underground masterpiece, that one ... and definitely not for the faint at heart.
