The bright spot for jobs and real energy we can use

Ed Feulner has got it spot on about the Bakken Region, a lot of good paying jobs, enough oil to help this country in a big way and actually EXPORT, yes that's right, exporting oil for sale.

This is from our friend, Confidential Reporter over at Foreign Confidential.

How many thousands of jobs could this country produce by developing our DOMESTIC energy resources that would really help our country and economy out. Not to mention the often forgotten and overlooked fact that we can become a major oil exporter and tell the arabs and muslim countries that hate us to get lost.

I had to include this opening introduction by CR as his biting wit and logical thinking is on full display here. He 'loves' environazis as much as I do:

"There is a place in America where jobs are being created daily, where truck drivers, mechanics, electricians, plumbers and carpenters, fast food workers--you name 'em--are in demand.

That place is booming North Dakota. The reason for its boom? Oil. Game changing oil!

But Barack Hussein Obama ignores North Dakota's oil boom because he hates oil unless the dreaded and despised (by Democrats) "fossil fuel" is produced in what he insists on calling "the Muslim world." Islamic oil is OK, apparently.

Like killing two birds with one stone, the Bakken oil boom conflicts with, makes a mockery of (a) the idiotic notion that oil, the resource on which our entire civilization runs and depends, and on which it will continue to run and depend for at least the next two decades, is inherently evil, and (b) the outright lie that the world is running out of oil.

The Bakken boom doesn't fit the Obama/liberal/leftwing energy narrative, just as the hiding-in-plain-sight story of enhanced oil recovery--squeezing new oil from old fields--and the related and also hiding-in-plain-sight story of economically recoverable heavy crude oil doesn't fit the almighty narrative.

Solyndra fits the narrative, or used to fit it, at least, until the company's well publicized meltdown, which is why Obama visited and praised that iconic symbol of phony green energy before it ran through a half-billion dollars of government money.

Inefficient and non-existent energy solutions, phony alternative energy schemes and dreams--and scams--fit the narrative. Real ... job-creating ... energy does not. No way.

Yet another reason why this President must be defeated at the polls next November.

FEULNER: Tapping our energy potential

New domestic energy discoveries and extraction techniques promise prosperity

Imagine a place where jobs are plentiful and the housing market is thriving. A place where even low-paying service jobs come with signing bonuses and other benefits. Sound too good to be true? No. It’s real, and it’s right here in the United States. The scenario described above can be found in Williston, N.D. The secret to its newfound prosperity: oil. The state is drilling at record pace, with oil production doubling from 2008 to 2010. That’s creating an economic boom in towns such as Williston. People are working and businesses are hiring.

North Dakota produced 424,000 barrels a day in July. That’s an increase of 86 percent over the same period in 2009, according to a recent Wall Street Journal article titled “U.S. nears milestone: Net fuel exporter.”

That’s right - exporter. It may be time to rethink the old image of the United States as nothing more than a consumer of the world’s energy. Newly released data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration shows that from Jan. 1 through Sept. 30, the United States imported 689.4 million barrels of everything from gasoline to jet fuel. But during that same time period, it sent abroad 753.4 million barrels.

This is a welcome switch, obviously. “The reversal raises the prospect of the U.S. becoming a major provider of various types of energy to the rest of the world, a status that was once virtually unthinkable,” the Journal points out.
